Should pair nicely with Bush's fumble problems. Things are shaping up nicely if you add in Henne's INTs.

Only so many snaps to go around Ck, Henne is not a finished product by any means, adding a high pick rookie to the mix would give us a mushy situation, this way if Henne is "the guy" then he will stand or fall so to speak, if he flames out Sparano is gone, if he succeeds, Sparano should be given huge credit for sticking with Henne.

All well and good for Sparano, now what about that season that is on the line? Does it not matter?

I'm sure Henne or Moore would strike fear into Revis and Asomugha (If they get him).

We can make a drinking game out of it. Take a shot every time the offense turns it over.

I had forgotten how lovely some of the folks on this board are during free agency. Almost makes me yearn for the lockout again. At least you guys aren't all armchair GM's who spout off and question everything paid professionals from behind their computer screens...right?

I think you can question some of th epieces, but jeez guys, the market is bare for the positions we need addressed Kyle Orton is probably the best option out there for the entire offseason and Miami is trying to get the deal done. Reggie Bush was had for a player that most of us wouldn't have penciled in as being on the roster 4 day ago. It's just tiresome to see the level of negativity being vomited out on sites like these after less than a week of th eleague being open again. Hell...free agency hasn't even technically began yet and a lot of you are ready to write this season off.

I think fans are hoping for Orton since he's the best available to compete with Henne, so hearing "Matt Moore" freaks people out. And let's face it Matt Moore is little competition.

Personally I love using sarcasm with the Dolphins, because you need to laugh sometimes. It can be tough to find ways to laugh about not winning a playoff game in what's approaching 11 years and all the awful drafts and Free Agent mistakes a la Culpepper... so sarcasm it is! But I won't trash this team...unless they suck during the season.

But every time the new season starts I have some hope the Dolphins will make the playoffs. (Okay, well in 2008 I was hoping they'd get to .500...turned out wayyyy better, maybe I should hope for .500 every year?) Let's just hope that optimism isn't burned out after the first game.

I think most fans are looking for light at the end of the tunnel, we didn't win one home game last year and Henne was horrible and looked like he regressed. If he's just handed the starting job again then without any competition it just sucks for the fans. I predict many empty seats this year as we get our asses handed to us by clearly superior teams.

I'm happy we got Bush but we need a QB so bad. It really puts our team in a bind without a decent QB. Henne, can't read coverages, panics, is slow, etc... The only good thing I could say is that he has a rifle for an arm.

As a fan I want hope going into the season, Henne's performance last year not only doesn't give me hope, I feel we will pay for not making some bold moves. Another poor to mediocre year. I guess we have basketball to look forward to, and I don't even like basketball. I pray that the Canes are good this year so I can have something to cheer for. If Henney is our starter this year my morale will be at a all time low with the Dolphins and I've been a die hard fan for 4 decades.

Not really exciting, going into the season with Henne and Moore doesn't inspire a lot of confidence should anything turn for the worse. Honestly I just can't understand how every year we are in a desperate crunch at the Qb position. How often can something happen with the same response? I know people think its just Henne hatred from people that want more talent at the Qb position but this is why people like me get so irate when we skip the position in the draft most every year. We should have a guy we are grooming, a guy we are playing and a prospect in the 3rd spot, instead we have one guy that we hope can start and literally no one after that. Thats just piss poor front office planning.

Well, when you're devoid of talent with really old, unproductive RBs running behind a crappy interior OLine, what do you expect?
-option 1 - agree, Daboll might be an improvement over Henning, but so is my left nut.
-options 2 and 3 - like I said, old an unproductive - I'd MUCH rather take a chance on a young rookie center to anchor the line for a long time to come than rely on center-wannabees from last year. Now, we have 1 hole left on the Oline and our RBs are younger and fresher. (We still need one more good RB though)
-option 4: We had arguably the slowest offense in the league last year. Bush and Gates hopefully bring a few chunk yardage plays a game. No one is asking them to carry out offense
-option 5: tough to argue that one. If Moore is our backup, we're in trouble if/when Henne gets banged up

If we get matt moore we are a stupid team. matt moore is nothing better then a 2nd string qb in this league and he won't push henne at all. So what if we don't have to give up much for matt moore he's not worth anything. Kyle orton is who we need to get and if there asking for to much then we missed our chance on the qb ship. If we don't get kyle orton I have lost all faith I had in this FO

I don't understand how you can loose faith in them over the Orton deal possibly not having. Like alot of people, they realize Orton is an upgrade, sure, but he's not that guy thats going to take your franchise to the SuperBowl. So, why give in to the higher trade demands of Denver, then give in to Orton's demands of a long contract, for pretty big money, for a guy that most people view as an upgrade, but not the guy you need in the end to get the job done. If anything, this is a good decision on the FO's part by not selling the farm for the guy. Theyve offered their perceived value, and it may not be good enough, so they're not just going to keep after it if they don't view it as a good deal. This FO has made some questionable decisions, sure, but I'm with them on this one. If you don't 100% believe he's your guy for more than just a stop gap for a few years, you don't give up more than its worth just for the sake of getting it done.

Maybe it is just me, but our offensive line was really a huge issue. I believe that Jake played injured all year (I believe he hurt his knee in preseason game at buffalo and never fully recovered) Wasn't Carey nicked up also? We went through 3 centers last year? So I expect big improvement in o-line this year. That will be the biggest key to the offensive improving.
Defensively shouldn't we be better, Allan back as nickel or safety. We get the Edds who supposedly can cover TE back from injury. I see our defense better than last year.
Big questions on RB rookie and bush vs ronnie and rickey. Better or worse, IMO depends on playcalling and line play.
So if QB play the same and playcalling play the same I still think we are better than last year. Not alot better 1-2 wins better but better.
I don't think there is anyone we are looking at that makes us alot better, do you?

We have a 10 carry a game guy and a kid from KState as our RB platoon. Please remedy this.

I said if we have to give up to much then we missed our chance on orton and I haven't. Lost faith in the fo just because of the orton thing there were a bunch of qbs out there this year and we missed pretty much all of them and were talking to matt moore now? Matt moore isn't going to push chad henne or put butts in the seats. He also isn't going to take us to a winning record

who cares about putting butts in the seats
    looking to win
if we want butts in the seats sign favre! silly arguement.
Is matt moore for 2 year $5 million a better investment than
Ortan for 2nd or 3rd round draft pick, likely 4-5 year average of 5-8 million a year (i'm guessing)?

    That is the question.
Next year is the year to draft QBs anyway.

I just heard on Denver sports radio that Orton is working overtime to develop as a QB, watching tons of film. Preparing for post-Broncos career and/or trying to keep Tebow off his heels.

As I've said before here, Orton will blow Henne's butt off the field. I speculate that Moore may have been brought in as a backup to Orton and once Orton is signed, Henne goes buh-bye. Anyone agree?

    -or-

They go all in with Henne.

One factor that Broncos fans may not realize is the Dolphins owner is a Michigan Graduate and really likes fellow graduate Chad Henne...
