http://twitter.com/#!/incarceratedbob WOW! WOW! This is not confirmed but i am hearing Miami Dolphins have started "talking" to Braylon Edwards (His price just went up Jets) From Twitter, take it what it's worth!
Well, he and Henne had one great season together for the Wolverines. To sign him, on top of Bush, well, Henne would have no excuses this season. I'd be down for us getting him. He'd have to be an upgrade over the slower whiter Ginn from the other OSU.
Incarcerated Bob "reported" that his "sources" said Nnamdi to the Jets was a done deal in principle. And then Nnamdi went to Philly. Pass.
At the right price I'd take him as a #2, and if nothing else we drive up the price for the Jets... but its probably bs
This isn't a bad idea. Anytime you can reunite a QB with a very talented guy he's thrown to for years, you explore it. I'd say the same about Manningham if he was available.
I'd rather see them upgrade at Guard. I'm kinda curious what Hartline brings in year 3 with Gates pushing him.
If this happens I will be happy. Then henne has no excuses and then if he fails any qb would love to come here
It would be funny. First the Jets went after Brandon Marshall and he ends up here and then the Jets go after Braylon, now we could have both.....
Incarcerated Bob? I don't understand why folks follow this guy. Proven BS artist. That said, if this happened we'd be absolutely stacked outside. Straight beast mode. I question whether he could handle this town though.
I'm all for bringing in known names, at any position. Edwards hands can be suspect, but I'd be willing to overlook that with the Wolverine past between the two. Strong 2 that would keep the opposite side of the field from Marshall certainly busy with his size and route running. Splash in Hartline, Bess, Gates, and Bush, and you're damn right....Henne, the table is set sir, lets see what you can eat up!!!!
I'd take him but don't believe anything that incarceratedbob says. I wish we would have signed MSW though, the Rams took him for a 1 year deal.
I'd like to see a OG upgrade too. Beating the drum for Blalock for a while now. However, looking at the roster, we have 4 OGs right now we could probably win with. Jerry should improve this year. Richie was our only G last season that PFF gave a plus grade to. Year before last, Garner was IMO our best pass blocking G and I'd feel comfortable with him as a starter if the foot is fine. PFF had Berger is our #2 interior OL, G is his best position, and he should be allowed to compete for one of the jobs. I think with those 4, who are all potentially middle of the road guards in the league, that Ireland is not gonna be looking for a big splash signing there. Though I'd welcome it. I think too, they got McQ on the back burner, and would resign him if the OL depth got depleted. Again not wishing for it, just saying what IMO it looks like.
As I recall, Henne and Edwards only had one year together. Henne's freshman season was Edwards' senior season.
Just for the record, i don't follow him, i just noticed it and give you guys some kind of information/rumor! And btw, FreeStyle also heard this rumour on ESPN radio!
i absolutley think we need to explore the option. One being hes not a bad player, two being he wouldnt be a jet. Every jets fan i know has completely casted Edwards off as a reason for their success but that offense, and sanchez specifically, will not be as good without Edwards and brad smith (Who already signed with the Bills)
Puts Holmes in the unfamliar position of not having a counterpart on the other side of the field, also..... Which puts more pressure on Sanchez....ga' he is so easy to root against. I lived in NY this past season, and saw a lot of NYJ games when I didn't feel like going out.....spit at the TV on multiple occassions
Plus hopefully we dont have to keep seeing footage of him making that TD catch against us. I just wonder if there would be a dispute between Marshall and Edwards for amount of balls thrown their way.
I'd explore it. Despite his inconsistant hands (he was much better holding onto the ball last year though), the guy knows how to get open, and deep.
It'd probably be a good thing- letting the whole organization to THROW THE F'N BALL!!!! Especially in the redzone.....Carpenter should not icing his leg after every game this year...
same here. Live in eastern pa, get every jets game. Sanchez' WRs make every play possible for him. He misses throws, throws into coverage, doesn't matter. They still catch it and in cases of Holmes, turn it into a touchdown once or twice a game.
Edwards drops some gimmes from time to time, then makes up for it by making a jaw dropping circus catch. Could two divas peacefully coexist on one offense? Would there be enough passes to keep both Edwards and Marshall happy?
I don't think there'd be enough passes personally. It'd be nice to have talent top to bottom going Marshall, Edwards, Bess, Hartline, Gates though.
I would love to have Edwards on our team, but I would rather see another quality RB or QB at the moment. Although Edward would add a great deal we have bigger needs right now.
Well based on last year, there definitely would be friction. However, theres nothing more encouraging to Henne to throw the ball around. Throw the damn ball! No excuses if you've got the outside threats like that....NONE. Not to mention, our "main-man" at RB is a great receiver as well.....HELL~ SLING IT HENNE
I personally feel Jericho Cotchery can do a good job replacing Edwards for the Jest, once again Mangini coming through for Rexxy, but adding Edwards negates Hartline and Gates and I don't believe they would do so, I can see Edwards going to MN or some team that plays the Jest like Washington.
Cotcherry is a very solid wr and i respect him. But he cant make the plays braylon has made. Braylon is a very underrated and forgotten reason for the Jets getting to the AFC championship game the past two seasons. He (along with our own incompetence) was the reason the jets offense beat us in the first meeting last year. Hes the only reason they beat the Colts in the playoffs. He made a huge play against the texans to win that game for them too. Cotcherys good, but hes not the deep threat/jump ball guy Braylon is.
