This is where PFF's snap data really comes in handy. His "limited" role saw him rushing the passer in the regular season 40% more often than Koa Misi (357 vs 253). This was not a "limited" role at all. He rushed the passernearly as much as James Harrison (395).
Well damn... they were really over using him. No wonder his inefficiency was poor. How many attempts would you estimate that a backup OLB would get?
Someone a little younger would have been nice to rotate in with Misi and Wake. this signing does nothing for me
I agree with that analysis, he needs to play better, he needs to play harder...maybe with a serious threat opposite him it will open some different things for him..He surely didn't have anyone close to the threat that wake brings across from him, in new york..
FN... I'm sorry but did you honestly just disregard an entire cogent, well explained argument because in one small part I (accurately) pointed out that JT was barely more efficient in rushing the passer than Maybin?
Welcome Back JT! It's a good thing. He knows some Jets plays and also led them in sacks for most of the season until the end. (Also had more sacks then every Dolphin except Wake.) He can still be a big help to the Defense at a low cost. And the fans will enjoy it, knowing this is most likely his farewell season.
They've got Lawson with 23 pressures, 8 hits, 3 sacks in 217 rushes. Taylor got 17 pressures, 3 hits, and 5 sacks in 409 rushes. Your mileage will vary, and I think I found a discrepency in that Taylor has 602 snaps at 3-4 OLB, but the main Jets page has him at 730 total, and I can't find him listed under any other position.
I was pissed at that decision, that was the time I thought he needed to be on the same page with new staff.
It doesn't make us a worse football team, but they could have done something else to make them a more betterer football team. I don't think you can really complain that much about it. edit- Unless you're ckparrothead evidently
Thank you disgustipate, was hoping that would be hatched out, JT for us, is like Wake in 09, 180-200 snaps, tops. If anyone had told me last week that Channing Crowder would be cut, and JT brought back I'd tell them they were nuts. And here it is. Funny old world.
lol for the time being... yes. I wrote that particular post before I even finished reading your whole write up. I still dont see how that could possibly be determined as an accuate statement though. In any way. I amm actually putting together a post based on your post, including looking Barnes (who I know little about) before addressing the rest of that post. Had to laugh at the Maybin part though. I mean, come on CK...
Yes. How could it not? This green piece of **** will now take up a roster spot and we'll watch one of our youngsters go off and develop into a contributor on some other team.
Anyone on our roster is better than JT at this point in his career. Especially when you factor in the fact that he's a diva and cancer on par with TO.
He had like 600-something snaps, which is pretty solid and rotational, but it seems like they pulled him in passing situations.
I'd rather have Moses than JT. Moses is still fighting to prove himself and has gotten better every year.
