Well, here is JT's stat line: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/3968 He made more impact plays not getting the sack, 6 passes defensed, 2 FF, 1 safety, Yahoo doesn't offer it, but I'd bet if you graphed his performance he started out the season strongly, then tailed off as he wore down. For example: through 6 games, here is his stat line: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/3968/gamelog;_ylt=AisZkkUDWS68gICfA6MoNc_.uLYF 13 tackles, 6 assists, 3 sacks, 1 FF, 1 pd. As the season rolled along and he wore down: http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/players/3968/gamelog;_ylt=AisZkkUDWS68gICfA6MoNc_.uLYF 12 tackles, 4 assists, 2 sacks, 5 passes defensed To me, just at a glance, the difference is crystal clear, when he was fresh he played better as the season went along he tailed off.
I believe you are correct Sir, just looking at the Stats, I'd need the PFF stuff to see how many snaps he had between Gm #1-#6 and Gms #7-#16 to be absolutely sure about it though.
problem is ... we already did this dance -- used him as a fall back plan (for Roth no less) and he didn't fair so well, of course, there will always be those that will find a way to say he did. he just needs to go away ... i can't think of one solid benefit that he brings to the team post camp (less some JESTS knowledge and maybe to work with Spears as Pads points out) -- well, i guess that could be 2 things for camp anyway. i can only hope that Pads is right - that he is here for camp, then retires or gets waived. in his prime he was negated by running at him .... seems logical that that would compounded now. not sure what he can teach Misi, as Misi is not as fast as he was -- he didn't have 'moves' per se .... he was a pure speed rusher (much like Spears) - but bigger.
press conference at 7. Does he bash the jets as some BS ploy to gain our love again?......we shall find out!!!! *dun dun dun*
It worked out fine as long as the expectations were realistic. I'm not sure we win that second Jets game that season without him on the team. It's not like they can't release him if he can't contribute anymore. Hell they cut Zach Thomas.
have very realistic expectations for him ..... as long as he signed for the vet min ... and isn't still here when the season ends - i'm good with it ...
I made it a point to watch JT playing last yr and he still can move, his problem is the explosion he used to have was not there, he can drop in coverage and stuff the run, but his sacks come more off of hustle then athletic ability later in the yr.
your just mad because Jason Taylor went to the jest last year, get over it. He is a Dolphin again and he will make plays for us. He gave this team everything he got when he played for us. I have no hate for Jason Taylor. I love Jason Tayloe gorwing up and watching him play was great and Im glad he is a Dolphin again.
So now you can't say that "you sound like a woman". That is one hell of a personal attack in my book.
Posts Deleleted. I understand that Jason Taylor coming back is emotional for everyone involved. Let's try to keep the discussion about JT (either positive or negative, I don't really care) and not about one another.
Chill bro I was just kidding.......all i said is that you were holding on to stuff like him playing for the jets. But obviously you dont hate him for that.......so i will take blame for that, my bad. It was just a joke....really. What is the point of going after on the internet. it really wasnt a personal attack at you it was just a joke. But either way sorry bro. I dont want you to think bad of the website mods either so honetly they probably thought I was just kidding so i take all the blame on that. I really am sorry bro.
LOL, Nabo is as brutally honest as they get and a good dude. Unfortunately, I think some people get the wrong impression because he doesnt just fall in line. Could say that about a lot of people I guess. This simply isnt true and the stats bear it out. There's no emoticon for that (blame Muck )so this will have to do Ok dude, we get it. Respectfully some of us disagree. Please allow others to be happy about it, even if you arent.
I was never bitter towards JT like most on this forum, we **** on him first imo. Glad to have him back and hope he helps us out and is a good mentor to the young folk. JT has put in his time and no one should be showing any hate for a guy who obviously bleeds aqua and orange!
Guys, i love this site, i am going to dolphins training camp the 9th (tuesday), anyone else going? Id love to meet some of the guys (or gals)
Do mods keep deleted posts for laughs? Sometimes there are some pretty good insults. Good to steal for real life.
Feel free to lift but don't be a girl about it next time.... J/K Bringing Jason Taylor back makes no sense to me.
didn't read past the first page of posts, but for the Jason Taylor haters...just something to think about. Everyone said when Junior Seau left San Diego, he was washed up. He went to New England and helped them win a Super Bowl. Like Junior, Jason Taylor is a physical specimen of a beast and could still help our defense.
Who's more the Judas...Jason Taylor for just getting a J-O-B in the NFL, or the current Parcells regime that betrayed and cut one of the beloved cornerstones of our defense?
I say we all pitch in and buy Killer a #99 jersey and a big cold beer. And no Killer don't tell us what nasty things you'd do to it we all know better. (High five here)
I saw him yesterday at the dolphins practice in Joe Robbie. People went crazy everytime they would show him on the big screen. I personally think its a PR move since sales are not doing that well. As long as he knows his Role and knows that Wakes and Misi are the starters I am fine with that. He was dead to me the minute he signed with the Jets. I really hope they dont try to make him a starter. just my two cents.
Try again. They lost to the Giants. The Patriots have enough rings, don't need you to give them more.
excellent! couldn't be happier. JT belongs here. may he have a beast of a season & retire as a dolphin.
I suppose he would also know the inner workings of the Jests. That could be useful. Like how Ryan tells his fitness guy to trip opposing players on the sidelines and the like.
