Henne needs to prove he deserves the opportunities and gain the trust of his coaches.

He didn't last year and for good reason.

So then what exactly do you think happened?

2,000 people went to the practice with the explicit intent of booing but then refrained from doing so until the last 10 minutes?

Or were they just frusturated by the mediocrity they witnessed that they reacted?

If fans want to look like douches, they can look like douches.

Turns out fans do not have any responsibilities other than be complete douchebags and look like morons who do not understand what practice is.

Fans don't have any responsibility, except to be civil to each other and not allow games to lead to violence.

This notion of what a "true fan" is is ridiculous. It seems to be that you must put up with any and all decisions by your team no matter how bad and no matter how long it takes to win a championship.

Except they are not "performing" at a practice. They're not trying to "win", they are trying to prepare.

If fans want to taste the cake before it's been baked, that's fine. But they look stooopid when they turn around and complain that the it doesn't taste right.

As a fair argument, I believe it's a little easier for players on a team that completely fell apart to point fingers at the QB rather than at themselves.

And support the team means support it with dollars.

There is a reason the Dolphins pro shop is open during training camp and I'm sure the pro shop was open last night. It's not a favor to the fans. It's an opportunity to market to the team

I am a knowledgeable fan and I don;t think the people who booed are morons even if I wouldn't have done it myself.

This fanbase has been fed a "satan sandwich" (thank you Nancy Pelosi!) for a decade. Maybe they are getting tired of eating it

Henne would have been better if his OC showed more trust in his ability to help develop him into someone he can trust by allowing him to make mistakes on the field rather than taking him out during critical situations that normally would allow a young QB to either prosper or make mistakes and learn from them.

The overreaction being stoked here is far worse than the booing or the chants.

Fans at sporting events WILL voice their displeasure. They will also cheer things they like...or is the lynch mob here going to attempt to tell them specifically WHAT to cheer for and what not to as well?

Yeah, fans who call their fellow fans morons are the pinnacle of classy fandom. We should listen to them, and let them guide our actions; let them shepherd us through the season with their benevolent censorship.

Iam supposedly part of the rah rah club and I have been calling for crowder to get cut for 3 years..I love him, but we needed to replace him, he was a liability, and I agree with the coaches move....''Say hello to the bad guy''..

Henne imo desrves the start of the season for more than one reason..

The problem I have with the staff is that they should of came out and said we fu^%ed up, he shouldn't of got the benching, he deserved better, but they didn't, they made the fanbase believe he needed to be replaced..Then after You have him teaching your players a new scheme all offseason while you couldn't do one thing, you owe him respect, maybe thats what they have been doing in their actions of not pursuing someone to replace him..They rewatched the tape and came to some conclusions, however they let the majority of the fanbase in the dark.

I wish the Phins would hurry up and have another practice so we could discuss THAT.

When we get bored the discussion degenerates into a cockfight.

I have no problem with that line of thinking.

Does anyone here NOT believe that Henne didn't improve and display sings of promise co-mingled with flashes or brilliance from 2009 though the first half of 2010 prior to the entire team falling apart and succumbing to injury?

Remember when our playoff hopes were alive after nearly beating Pitt during a nasty 1st half schedule where Henne's QB rating was around 89 (prior to the Pitt INT going against him)?

Is anyone NOT looking forward to seeing that guy return and continue to develop into the player that fans, media, and ex Dolphins were raving about in 09?

Look, if Henne has a breakthrough year, Ireland looks like a genius.

And we'd have an affordable, long term, young championship contending team because of the amount of talent they've put on this roster.

By not overspending at QB, but spending to stack the rest of the team, if Henne becomes a bargain Pro Bowler we would be set.

Since this post is going nowhere........

Been here to much(sure to get no arguments there)....been sick with the flu and this place use to be a nice distraction But the lack of insight and movement of our organization has made it more enjoyable having the flu..............

You all also might discover in three months booing and cockfights are more entertaining then our team....

To bad for we do have a nice defense but the offense outside of a few is PATHETIC at best and going nowhere.......

time will tell............What if, This was as good as it gets..............

Dang, it is. lol. Well, in that case, we won't benefit at all. In fact, if he posts at least a mid-80's QBR through the end of October I'd get an extension done. Why wait for him to hit the open market once he proves himself?

And if he craps the diaper this year, then as Con said, we focus on QB in the draft.

What sucks about that is that this team will all be ready to start winning deep into the playoffs with a great mix of youth and experience by 2012... and a rookie QB comes in and will need years to reach the same point... by which time we'll have let a lot of current guys walk in Free Agency.

The easiest way to build a winner if for a batch of young talent to peak together in years 4-5-6 imo. If the timing is off, then you almost have to clean house and start over.

Even if they are drafting a QB early next year, they'll still need to bring in a veteran. I don't think you necessarily have to start a rookie right away.

    You speak for yourself.

I don't expect every new Dolphins QB to be Marino. I expect every new Dolphins QB to be competent, display rapid and continual improvement, and lead the team to the playoffs.

I still think we should have traded for Matt Schaub, or packaged 2008 picks #33 (Merling) and #57 (Henne) to move up to #18 with Houston for Joe Flacco, rather than allow Baltimore to snag him. Both of those QBs were immediately better than Chad Henne and easily obtainable for this franchise.
