Clearly you've thought deeply about this..let me ask you Abbi N, as long as we talk about Brett Favre...who are we not talking about?

I don't understand what you mean?

Brett farve has retired and has given no inclination that hes coming back..Thats a bit different then contemplating Ahmad Bradshaw or a potential free agent on our team..

If your a reporter and your going to go there, have something to back it up.

Knew about this yesterday but wasn't allowed to say anything. No, that doesn't mean I/we/anyone know(s) it's happening...just that it's being tossed around the cooker.

we'll see if he had some meat to the story, because knowing how pathetic a group of our fans are, he will at some point have to come clean.

    Agreed.

And the whole thing was just concocted to sell papers, get reads and "create a story". The media benefits the most from starting talk about Favre to Miami.

Media using Favre idea to wag the dog.

The reason why Hyde hasn't gotten backlash is because, if you follow this thread, it's a giant circle jerk of the same 5-8 people. The conversation has been driven by nothing but it.

So Sparano chides the fans who chanted "Orton" during practice, but now they're trying to replace him with a QB who's, what? 50? And as washed up as washed-up gets.

    Fat hypocrite.

It's not really up to Sparano, it comes down to Ireland.

    Honestly.....

I dont know why anyone has any objection to this. I dont think their is any question at all that with Favre at QB we WILL be a better team. We could be a better team with Henne. I just keep getting back to what CK discussed about how hard it is going to be for this team to put itself in position to draft one of the upper echelon QB's in the draft next season.....as a result of the new CBA and rookie wage structure. Those high picks have MUCH MORE value now then they did before.

Hell...at this point Im so sick of the QB talk...Henne will or wont.....whatever.

Favre could operate this offense no problem.

The media know damned well that it'll create some buzz, though. That's why they pulled it outta thin air.

There ain;t a lot of sizzle to sell when you're covering the Miami Dolphins as a journalist. How do you get a national media outlet to notice you when no one cares about the Dolphins?

Wait! Oh yeah, we can start some Favre-to-Miami buzz!

Don't worry, it aint happening. Once again the media has duped our comically gullible fan base into taking them serious. Kudos to Omar Kelly and PFT for driving more traffic to their sites and twitter accounts by posting stories that they know are ridiculous. Armando is still running with the dead as a doorknob Kyle Orton trade rumors, so he deserves some credit as well.

These are the same people who had the fan base, including respected members of this forum, disappointed that we didn't trade up for, or select a 3rd round QB, with the 15th overall pick. My guess is that there will be clueless fans buying this garbage well into the regular season. "Marino eyes return to Dolphins" will be the headline. That story should boost traffic at the Herald and Sentinel quite nicely. .

Why does that sound like someone trying to convince himself of the case.....

Given the parties discusses and the situation in Miami.....do you really...REALLY want to guarantee this is just bunk?

I'd be thrilled if they chanted We Want Favre, so Sparano can spit on the floor and say the fans DISGUST him. Nauseate him!!!

Then he can play all coy and smirky about maybe wanting Favre too.

Are you implying that the Miami brass has leaked Favre's name to the media in order to use fan reaction as a gauge to help determine whether or not they should sign Brett Favre?

This, after an entire off season of ignoring the fans' manic desire for a new QB? Even for you, that's pretty weak dude :tongue2:.

If I had to wager, I would say their Favre interest is more along the lines of Orton leveraging.

All this means to me is that the coaching staff and management (if this goes any further) is not liking what they are seeing from Henne to this point.

People can come on here and show stats and try and yadda yadda yadda about whatever but in the end if a fall back to Favre plan is considered it can only mean that what the staff is seeing what is going on and they aren't liking it.

Because no matter how the fans have reacted, if they knew that this kid was going lights out and they had full confidence in his abilities they couldnt care less what anyone says or does.

I wouldnt mind seeing Favre brought in so long as he is up for a competition. Not that I think he'll have a hard time winning.

Even with his penchant for throwing some bad picks IMHO he would still be able to wrestle the job away from Henne.

Besides if Favre sucks so bad then Henne has nothing to worry about.

It wouldn't be the first "source war" and it won't be the last. In fact, given the four dimensional nature of the news, given Bus Cook's statements, it wouldn't shock me if they've reversed course because the Dolphins found out Favre isn't interested.

Who is Omar Kelly's source for this story? And who collaborated it for him? Has he talked to Favre, his agent, a Fins personnel exec? Or is he posting gossip on Twitter like millions of others?

They've been milking the QB upgrade cow all offseason and making a killing off of it. And who have we added at QB? Pat Devlin and Matt Moore. How many times are you going to fall for the banana in the tail pipe?

I'm not on the Farve band wagon but this statement is just wrong.
4,202 passing yards and 33 touchdowns in 2009. What do you consider having it?

Or that they weren't trying all that hard to replace him. Like they have said, on the record, several times. But lets ignore Jeff Ireland, Sparano, Dee & Ross and listen to the likes of Mando, Kelly, and Dave Hyde instead. It's not like they stand to benefit from misleading the fans with tall tales about new QBs or anything.

Bus cook's statements mean nothing on this one. I can find the exact same statements the last 3 times this happened. Favre hasn't filed his retirement papers and it was confirmed that the eagles reached out to him last week. I imagine he was waiting for a starting spot on a good team.

    Well, here it is.

I'm not saying I think this would work, but I'm a hell of alot more open minded to it than I am going with the "winner" of a battle royale of suckitude between Henne and Moore. Then it also guarantees that we're going high octane QB shopping next off season.

    Don't understand the question

Doesn't matter any more who your not talking about and they have already blown their opportunities and gone past the point of return. This train wreck has been going on for a long time and still many just stick their heads in the sand......QB position is only the most obvious......

we've gotten ourselves once again in a position were we can't do anything about (theres a pattern here Padre)
Watch what happens with the RB good chance we will see this pattern probably by mid season....(alot pressure on our offensive rookies)

I loved this team so much but it's really a shame to see it falling apart. And the big distraction is the Defense It's good, really good and could turn out to be a formidable one, but they needed to put alot more thought money and energy into the offense to not look like idiots.... they clearly failed IMO again and show their lack of being quality professionals. And sad to say you need a good Offense especially in the AFC east
Who knows maybe it will become so clear even homers will be dissatisfied and stop and have more lowered and realistic expectations......ya right ......

Yes, because Ireland, Sparano & Co have always been forthright and honest and because it just makes so much sense to come out publicly and say you're trying to find better options at QB. Please.

Talk about JT being the nursing home kitty, Brett Phavre must be the nursing home puppy. What happened with him at the Jets? Well what happened to the coach? And... what happened to the Vikings coach? If you want Sparano gone, this is the best way to accomplish it.
