I don't think I'd say "ruining his career," but I would say they're not helping very much. I don't think positive response from fans has ever hurt anyone...Isn't that part of the reason you would normally prefer home games?

Our fans would've tried driving out Eli Manning and Drew Brees too. Just because it shouldn't affect a player, doesn't make it wholly right.

"So called fans" ? You mean people that took their time on a Monday evening to go all the way to the stadium and sit in August heat, to watch a freakin' Training Camp practice ? Many of whom are the same people who spent their money last year on Season Tix to watch Henne be directly responsible for losing 4 of the last 5 games, including 3 at home to 3 of the perennially bad franchises ? Those "so called fans" who love the Dolphins enough to make that effort, and care enough about the team to at least show the emotion of caring, by booing ? Those "so called fans" ?

Henne was put on a cross by this front office over the last week, by PUBLICALLY going after someone they were trying to acquire to replace him. If anyone hasn't shown Henne enough respect & "love" its his own bosses. The fans are only following the level of respect his own organization has shown him. Don't blame the "so called fans", blame the Miami Dolphins front office.

Isn't it a shame how that crap rolled right on down hill? Starting at the top with Ross.

I don't think he's good, let alone great. But I have a sliver of hope still based off 2 seasons ago, that he can turn it around some. I just think this poop storm is not helping the guy we are inevitably stuck with for 2011.

You don't get it. Happy Hour had 10-12 "so called fans" going to practice just to boo Henne. It was an event, and I'm sure there were many others with the same intent. Guarantee it.

C'mon, he's human and yeah it bothered him that fans booed him...He didn't say anything about slitting his wrists...He was honest and that's fine...now he's getting bashed for admitting what ANY human feels [whether or not they admit it] ???

    Much ado about nothing here...

If it really hurt his feelings, he's thru. Motivation smotivation!! I sure the heck hope he can but saying it hurt him is not going to be good if he starts messing up at a home game

Yeah, it was kind of stupid comment. Michigan has a pretty strong list of QBs sent to the NFL the last 30 years. As a group, not many schools could claim better.

Not a single person on this board has NOT been shamed in some way and felt terrible about it. To say "man up", "get over it", "your a professional" blah blah blah is hypocritical. How many have you played football? QB? I did both. And when you have a bad game and get booed, it hurts. When you know you're putting your heart into something - putting everything you've got into it, it hurts to have people turn on you. Every player in the NFL, especially one who is in the scrutiny of an important position, has, at least once, felt this way. Do I feel sorry for Henne? No. Do I empathize for him? Sure I do. To admit it bothered him was no big deal. It's being blown out of proportion though. But this guy has went out and has done everything right during the lockout in attempt to win over his team mates and the fans by taking a leadership role in organizing team activities, and the thanks he gets is fans clamoring for a guy who won three games last year as a starter. Yeah. Makes sense to me to hear people call him out for being sensitive.

I don't know personally but I'd guess it can get pretty high pressure in a Pizza Hut sometimes. Like if you are the one making the pizzas. There you are flattening out the dough into a pie, spreading the sauce, putting on the cheese and toppings, and you are working as fast as you can, and more and more people keep coming in, and the faster you try to make the pizzas, even more people keep coming in, and more and more pizzas are being ordered and you are trying to make them but you keep getting farther and farther behind because more people keep pouring in, and then you accidentally drop one on the floor and you are trying to clean it up and the boss comes in and screams at you, and pretty soon you just can't take it any more, so you go out to your car and get your trusty grenade launcher from the trunk and begin dropping them onto the Pizza Hut and pretty soon the place is leveled and all the customers and your boss and your co workers are all dead, except the cute waitresses with the big boobs, because you warned them ahead of time, but it is all ok, because the customers were all Jets fans anyway.

    Okay, here goes

Henne- 06 2nd round pick, lights still haven't turned on
    John Navarre- 04 7th round pick 0-1 32/64 342 2/5
    Drew Henson 03 6th round pick- 1-0 11/20 98 1/1
Tom Brady- 00 6th round pick, 111-32 2996/4710 34744 261/103 6x Pro Bowler 2x 1st team all pro, clearly the class of the Michigan alumnus thus far
    Griese 98 3rd round pick 45-38 1752/2796 19440 119/99 1 pro bowl
    Todd Collins- 1995 2nd round pick 11-10 career record 391/707 4547 22/24 td/int.... Clearly a good Michigan QB
    Elvis Grbac 1993 8th round pick 40-30 1446/2445 16,774 99/81 1 pro bowl
    Jim Harbaugh 1987 1st round 66-74 2305/3918 26288 129/117 1x pro bowler

So with 1 great QB, 2 average QBs and a massive dumpster fire Michigan has a good track record of producing QBs?

Some hits and some misses, but overall as a group from one school, comparatively not bad. Which school has collectively done better? USC maybe?

Your point being ? Mine was, these people took time on a workweek night to go out to Sun Life to see the Dolphins. Its not like these are your casual fans. Most of them are pretty hardcore to do that, and they are the ones that booed and chanted. And all they did was take their cue from the Front Office, which had made a public display of courting a QB they were thinking of trading for to replace Henne.

So you tell me who was really more disloyal to Henne ? The chanting fans or a front office ready to dump his azz the minute Orton was obtained ? Give me a f**ken break.....

    The whole fan argument is just a waste of time - either way. Hey, it's a sport - if it's more than that, it's a distortion. If fans want Orton, let them say it. I don't think it's cool to do that to another human being, but there's a lot of things I don't approve of by others. But in this case, unless one is appealing to a higher law on which we all agree - it becomes a waste. That said, it would be a lot different if he were making $50 K and getting this. As it is he's making several 100 K;

The fact is, the Dolphins did bring this on themselves. Cote has a good article noting that Sparano can't have it both ways - he can't complain about the fans wanting Orton when in fact the reason they do is the Dolphins themselves wanted Orton!

The front office knows they can't rely on Henne - and that it's a crap shoot with the kid. And, he's making more money than most of those fans will see in a lifetime and many of them - when they buy tickets to the games - are giving up significantly more than if Henne were to give away 50% of his take home pay. So, it comes with the territory. And, if he does well, he'll cash in with tens of millions. If he doesn't, he can still hang on as a journeyman QB for a few more seasons and he'll walk away by age 30 (longer if he's fortunate) with probably $10 million in total earnings. That's something I suspect nearly every person on this board would take in a heartbeat. So, I don't really feel sorry for the guy. And, he's playing his favorite sport.

You're trying to make it seem like they were going to the dentist.

I might drive 15 miles tomorrow to see a movie at the IMAX...... and guess what?---- I might even pay for a ticket. Point is--- I'm doing it b/c I want to.

The die hard fans are typically the ones with the greatest amount of false sense of entitlement...... like the Patton Oswalt movie, Big Fan.

He said "sent" to the NFL. I'd say that's a pretty impressive list. How many other schools can claim that their QBs are so consistently drafted? Not many.

When you do a compare and contrast on the money gap, yes, it is common place. But then again, I dont suck at what I do for a living.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair or f@$#ing beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. - Al Swearengen
