Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself that we're not desperate/stupid enough to ACTUALLY bring Favre in, but a thought occurred to me. Early in the week we heard the reports about fans chanting for Orton at practice. There's already a 15 page thread on this topic so I wont go into it here. Then yesterday we hear rumors about Favre and last night fans are at practice cheering for Chad Henne. The fans don't want Favre, that much is obvious. But, this could be an ingenious ploy by management to say to fans, look, we know we didn't address the QB situation this off-season (even though I maintain there wasn't a QB in FA or the draft worth taking) but it's Henne or Favre at this point, which would you prefer? Fans have obviously started jumping back on the Henne bandwagon as soon as the news broke after clearly being off of it just days before. To me it just makes too much sense to not be the case, and if it was their intention it's clearly already garnered results. I hope I'm right on this one. Or even if I'm not right, I just hope we don't bring in Favre
well if i would know its #4 from 2009 its a no brainer, but since we wont know, i stick with the guy i´m supporting all offseason....CHAD HENNE
The rumor as I have it was started as a joke by Cote of the Herald. In typical fashion for this regime Sparano instead of joking back answered in typical ambiguous fashion in regards to personnel "we can't rule anything out". That set off all of this nonsense as far as I can tell.
I think they would sell more tickets with #4 at QB than Henne. So I doubt this is a PR move in order to get support for Henne. Like others have said, it's sad that Favre could roll of the couch in his Levi's and out perform our entire stable of QB's.

The Favre stuff is a media creation. Sparano said he wouldn't rule Favre out because he wouldn't rule anyone out. PFT ran with that as saying Favre was a candidate to go to the Dolphins. Suddenly "Favre to Phins" gets taken seriously. This is the biggest non-story I can remember.
Don't think FO is serious about this Favre BS. Sad part is that they've put the team in a situation that makes this even a consideration...........The signs are friggin clearly there. And why does this have to do with Tony "tinker" Sparano not that he doesn't have enough ineptness on his plate, but Irelands the one who makes these decisions..........
I dont think they are doing it to get fans on the Henne bandwagon. I think people in the media liked having the amount of readers they were having when they had the Orton deal going on and when that stopped they wanted to keep it going so they figured a Favre story would do the trick. Honestly its getting old. I just want to see them (entire team) perform in a pre season game already and see how they are all improving/stayed the same. Henne is the man this season unless he craps the bed really bad and I dont see that happening. Like I have said before he's average enough to win you some games, then in others you'll want to tear his head off - (just because I know it pisses some people off - he's JAY FIEDLER like). We dont have anyone that can do better so we head off into battle with what we got and its first round or bust for this team.
That's the entire point I'm making here though. Once Fins fans got a whiff of Brett Favre they went back to Chad Henne. Why would Sparano deny the rumors when he knew they would get the results he wanted?
