http://www.battlefield3online.com/battlefield-3-alpha-beta-discussion/1436-battlefield-3-alpha-hidden-details.html#. Here is some new info on BF3 that was extracted from the Alpha trial files. Some details are of number of sigleplayer/multiplayer maps as well as weapons, attachments, kit tools etc. Also there are some hint that BF3 will have something to do with Rome because of code names like Venice and Testrange_Rome_MP05, although its just speculation.
I'm just excited to finally play a game where LMG's are used the right way. To suppress. I think it's great Dice added blurred visuals and lower accuracy when being shot at by an LMG. Definitely going to be what I use the most.
Rome would be a fantastic setting for a modern war game, especially if they recreate the full city to scale. I hope it's true.
Sounds like a neat feature, but IIRC LMG's were pretty overpowered to begin with in BF2. That class had infinite ammunition/Grenades(so gay lol) for themselves and their team which paved way for some pretty cheesy tactics like a squad proning on the rooftops in Warlord spamming grenades onto the 2nd floor/ground level(same thing with Stairwell camping @ the TV station).... Thankfully Dice has been tweaking the way they set up their class combinations since BF2, so Im not really that concerned about this at the moment. However, I believe the medic was the class to obtain the LMGs in Bad Company....and that was pretty lame in itself. When the only class who can heal/revive also has the weapons with the most ammunition and such a high rate of fire....thats not exactly my idea of great balance.
