    Offensive Line
    .
Shaun O’Hara: The former Giants center has never been short of talent, but right now he doesn’t appear to have the health to match it. That’s the only reason why a guy who has been our fifth ranked center over the past three years hasn’t been picked up.
Suggested Team:New Orleans Saints – If he can prove that he’s healthy, the Saints won’t be scared off by his age as they’re built to win now.
    .
Leonard Davis: Never a favorite of the fans he plays for, Davis is prone to a few lapses here and there. He’s still one of the most punishing guards out there and was our ninth ranked on the right side last year.
Suggested Team:Miami Dolphins. – They want to get more of a push in the run game.
    .
Vince Manuwai: Last season was a weird one for Manuwai. At times he was flat out dominant, and at times he struggled to handle defensive linemen. What he did to the Browns was one of the best games a guard had all year.
Suggested Team:Jacksonville Jaguars – Once he gets himself in shape, they should bring him back in.
    .
Rich Seubert: The versatile linemen performed admirably at guard and at center last year and that alone is enough for teams to be interested in him.
Suggested Team:New York Giants – They felt the benefit of his versatility last year and could probably use some depth in case some of their new starters don’t pan out.
    .
Brian Waters: While he went to the Pro Bowl last season, it’s safe to say it was base mostly upon his rep. So, while he can hold his own in pass protection, Waters just isn’t physically the same player he once was.
Suggested Team:Chicago Bears – Does he want to carry on? He’ll upgrade a team’s pass protection and no team could use that more than Chicago.
    .
Shawn Andrews: What happened to that dominant guard from the Eagles? Even when he got on the field for the Giants something wasn’t quite right. He’s young enough that you’ll take a chance on the talent still being there.
Suggested Team: Chicago Bears – I appear to be taking the “throw it at the wall and see what sticks” approach.
    .
Bryant McKinnie: If and when McKinnie gets himself in shape, he won’t struggle to find suitors. Even though he has underachieved based on his talents, he’s still a top ten left tackle.
Suggested Team:Buffalo Bills – They could put an in-shape McKinnie at either tackle spot and he’d be an upgrade.
    .
Max Starks: Much like McKinnie, Starks showed up overweight. Worse for him is that he missed most of 2010 due to injury. He has the kind of talent that when healthy he’d better a teams’ tackle situation.
Suggested Team:Arizona Cardinals – They seem to be in love with bigger linemen (how else is Levi Brown still employed). Starks is probably more athletic at 400lbs than their current left tackle.
    .
Langston Walker: Walker sure can run block and he sure can’t pass block. He had our second highest grade with his run blocking, and 11th lowest grade with his pass blocking.
Suggested Team:New York Giants – If they can’t bring back Kevin Boss they could always use Walker as an additional lineman when needing that sixth blocker.
    .
Barry Sims: Sims is a weird one. Much mocked earlier on his career, he’s become the poster child for ‘stable replacement to come in when a better player is injured’. Teams need guys like Sims for the worst case scenario of losing a starter.
Suggested Team:San Francisco 49ers – The match up works so why change it?
    .
Sean Locklear: Locklear was our highest rated right tackle in pass protection last year, though he followed that up with a negative grade in his run blocking abilities. An extremely frustrating player, he pulls from the tackle spot and gets out into space with upper echelon athleticism but so often doesn’t consistently show that. Could be a steal for someone.
Suggested Team: Cleveland Browns. – The tackle pickings are getting slim and he’d make life easier for a sophomore quarterback.

According to PFF, this is the top talent left on the OL. Absolutely amazing that McKennie and Starks are up abound 400 pounds. With Carey moving to G, I'm wonering about a UM combo on the right side. I am not a Colombo fan.

I believe that "Mount McKinnie" and "Mount Vernon" would work well. I think the two Canes would help each other.

I don't think they will add anyone else. Sparano likes Richie Incognito at LG, and Marc Colombo at RT. I feel like the line lacks a bit of athleticism, and they might not be executing the full extent of Daboll's 2010 Cleveland run game, but there's more than enough there to be successful with if the blocking is good.

It's not a popular sentiment, but they deserve the benefit of the doubt in the context of Colombo. They've taken arguably a more dubious prospect in Jake Grove to very similar backlash, and while they took a gamble that didn't pay off in the context of his ability to stay healthy, they pretty undeniably wildly exceeded expectations in terms of his talent. Incognito, to a lesser degree is a similar story. He hasn't dramatically improved as a player, but last season he was barely penalized when he was essentially put on the waiver-wires because he was a melt-down waiting to happen.

They've not done a very good job with stability on the line, but that's more because they've gambled on injury and been more intolerant of bad play than most, not because they've really misjudged talent, with so far the exception of John Jerry.

Bryant McKinnie is a douchebag from what I remember but in the Florida sun on the right? That's what we like to call a Pat ****er.

I don't really love Columbo either. I know he only had 2 practices so far, but from what I read, he had a rough time. I think we need to bring someone else in. O'Hara would be my pick. My fear now though is that with the shortened camp, these guys need time to gel together. Pouncey is struggling too. If we are going to make a move, it needs to be soon. I like the idea of McKinnie if he gets into shape, but he needs time to do that, and we don't have that. Sparano needs to stop shuffling these guys and let them work together.

Locklear would have been a much better choice for RT than Colombo, but Sean has never played for the Cowboys.

I always liked Locklear but I think I may be in minority.

Me too. liked him in college, at the all star games, and since he has been in the league. Never saw anything not to like about Locklear.
All joking about former Cowboys aside, I can't believe we'd sign Colombo and show no interest in this guy, especially since it appears Locklear didn't get any huge contract. Unless Colombo signed for the veteran minimum. All the fixation about past player comfort level seems a little like being too lazy to do homework, or not trusting your own pro scouts.

Certainly didn't like reading this about Colombo...

Though new Dolphins right tackle Marc Colombo, 32, has had a good career, here’s what should worry Dolfans: His 2010 play was ranked 76th among 78 tackles by Pro Football Focus. What’s more, among all tackles, he allowed the 14th-most sacks (seven), the second-most quarterback hits (11) and third-most quarterback pressures (40). “He didn’t play great, but he’s still a good run-blocker, and brings toughness and nastiness to their line,” Cowboys radio analyst Babe Laufenberg said.

don't see a lot of prospective headway to be made with this list in improving significantly our interior line
maybe the best would be Brian Waters
@ age 34 is still an upper-echelon lineman, being All-Pro twice and invited to the Pro Bowl five times

questions: health, how much rubber left on those wheels & what kind of short term contract can be had

    is becoming increasing obvious:

the best option, especially after re-signing Carey, becomes an open competition @ both guard positions

Jared Gaither should be on that list as well, but clearly there is plenty of Oline talent floating around atm.

I read in the Sun that we are trying John Jerry at starter at LG in practice. The OL saga continues.

What's really strange is that, with all the new players and constant changes over the last few year, the OL still grades out very well.

Cog graded out at #17 of all guards in the league, just a hair below Leonard Davis. I thought he did well.

Maybe they grade out well, but the run game is obviously a negative with this team, especially last year. A couple of years ago it'd have been even worse but the WC was 'unveiled' and it salvage what was shaping up to be a sad-sack year for the run game....I don't care how they grade out, they aren't getting it done...and that is a concern...

I cut my post short. The OL graded out very well in pass protect. They had a negative grade on the run. I've always seen changes and young guys have more of a negative impact in pass protection.
