Really Robin, is that why? Not because the Broncos couldn't pull off the trade with the Dolphins? Interesting- care to back that up? Maybe Orton kind of sucked last year in the 4th quarter of close games. Maybe the Broncos FO realized that Orton isn't the caliber of QB that they want to build with. But you didn't answer the question: why, in your opinion, was Orton on the trading block in the first place?
Anyone know who the only Heisman Winning Quaterback that is in the Hall of Fame? Spoiler Was a cowboy Spoiler Played in the same Era as Bob Greise Spoiler Entered the NFL 4 years after graduating. Spoiler Rodger Staubach Not sure why everyone wants a Heisman Quaterback, there is strong evidence showing that being a great College QB does not make you necessarily a great NFL qb. Gotta look else where. Pass on Tebow.
Comically incorrect. Broncos veterans had absolutely jack **** to do with the Orton to Miami deal falling through. JACK. ****.
I don't know about that. I'd bet Paul can throw a football much better than Ross. If we are going to install a rule, such as you allude to, no being critical of anything about any player, unless you can do it better, then we better just shut down the forum right this minute.
Unlike you evidently, I was actually paying attention when this was going on. There were a whole bunch of writers and TV people covering this. ESPN had like three guys following it. Dolphins beat writers were on it, Broncos beat writers were on it, and yet not one of them ever mentioned Broncos veterans having anything at all to do with the deal falling through. All that was ever mentioned was that A) Miami wasn't willing to offer the compensation that Denver wanted, and B) the Dolphins weren't willing to pay Orton the kind of money he was looking for. How exactly do you explain this?
I have never seen a guy draw so much hatred not only from the fans but from analysts. It is incredible. He is more hated than Ryan Leaf.
I don't hate Tebow, I love the guy! I just don't want him as our Qb. However, the general reaction to him is bizarre. You either love him or hate him.
I think Tebow is one hell of a football player. I would absolutely love it if he were to become a Dolphin. I don't think he'll ever be a pro-bowl caliber QB, but I think the kid would play his heart out at any position he's asked to play and do OK at the QB position and be an awesome "trick play" QB. I also think he'd make a very good TE or RB. Now, I don't think he'd be an every down TE/RB, but he could come in and mix it up...scare a defense a little and open up the offense. He can throw the ball, run the ball and I've seen him lay a few great blocks. I haven't seen him catch the ball, but I bet he'd do that pretty well too.
I don't necessarily want Tim Tebow on the Dolphins but he is a good athlete. I think its funny how much static he gets over his delivery, when Phillip Rivers had a similar problem when he was drafted. I don't think Tebow will ever be a great QB but I think he could be fairly good.
Not even close. Tebow has an elongated slingshot delivery and isn't that accurate. Rivers throwing motion was in question because his delivery was low. He's 6'5" and his delievery is like 6'2"ish and it looks as if he's pushing it (Kind of Marino-esk). To completely separate issues.
Unlike you, I won't pretend to know exactly what goes in in a particular teams clubhouse! And before you make claims about what I saw, read, or herd, make sure you know wtf you're talking about because you have no clue for one thing, and you're dead wrong for another. No one knows if players talked to the coaching staff behind closed doors. Absolutely %%% ing no one! Youreself included.....
I just threw up in my mouth. It's a ****ty bit of satire by one of Orlando's finest... If they sned him anywhere it should be Jax. Those rednecks up there worship him.
I would welcome Tebow to the Dolphins. I think he has a big upside if he can realize his potential with the help of a offensive coordinator who tailors the offense to his strengths. I believe in the kid. Will he ever be an NFL QB? I don't know, but it's possible. The kid is a hard worker, a winner, with a good head on his shoulders.
Fun to consider? No, imagining my team winning at best 2 games with that terrible QB aat the helm is not very fun for me actually.
Hard working. A winner. Good head on his shoulders. Means absolutely nada when you don't have the talent, and Tebow doesn't have the talent. Put the guy at RB already because he damn sure isn't a QB.
Really? And he was what, 11 TD 4 INT 82 passer rating last year? Hmmm.... And maybe you can explain this to me: if Tebow suck so bad and is so talentless, then why was a good QB, Kyle Orton, unceremoniously shown the door in Denver, up until the point that their efforts to dump him on the Dolphins failed? Some of you people are flat out comical.
