Listening to the Channing interview on WQAM. wow, Jeff Ireland continues to live up to the rep of being an a-hole with no personal touch or class whatsoever.

It's tough to love a team but dislike guys like Ireland. I'm a pretty heart-centered fan and when 'my' GM is treating people poorly, even if he is 'doing his job'.. I dunno. I hate to root for a prick.

Yes, Ireland is a prick. We don't need Channing to tell us that. But he's done a pretty darn good job of talent acquisition, IMO, and I hope we hang on to him. I truly believe this team is consistent QB play away from being a contender.

Another point of interest... sometimes we subconsiously imitate the role modelling of our parents. For example, if Brett Favre's kid plays in the NFL someday, he'll play til is legs fall off. That's Dad's example.

So take note that Channing Crowder's Dad, Randy, who also played for the Dolphins, walked away from the NFL after... six seasons. Just like Channing.

(I also think Channing is less likely to play for the Pats/Bills because of his Dad's legacy in Miami, his mentor Zach Thomas' example of saying he couldn;t play for a team he learned to hate... which CHanning sort of echoed in today's interview).

He opens the wrong side of his mouth way too much to get a job on TV. I mean, he could be good because he is a very smart individual but I think he'd be better with a radio show.

I'm not sure I understand what you are referring to. I don't believe I cited any correlation.

Le Batard would still dominate the ratings book.

i have a lot of respect for a guy that can walk away and wants to focus on family stability. its a bit of a shame hearing how much he loves the dolphins and the area. he must have taken getting cut pretty hard.

    1. A mutual relationship or connection between two or more things.
    2. Interdependence of variable quantities.

You'd said that CC's role and/or style of play was probably responsible for his short career. While there may be a connection or correlation, there is no proof it was the cause. Just like all that stuff you were telling Todd about the relationship or correlation between the KC run game and Cassel's success as a passer. Like, uh, Cassel's prowess as a passer opened up things for the KC ground game, just as likely as the ground game making things easier for Cassel as a passer. If you believe that we have some swamp land in the middle of the Everglades we'd like to sell you. ;)

CC came into the league with an injury and surgery history as long as your arm. Even before the 2005 draft it was noted by several draft analysts that his body would most likely not hold up for playing football past 30 yrs of age. Turns out it was even less than that.

Yes, and my statement was clear this was the case:

Thats the only subjective statement I made. I'm not sure how that could be construed as evidence of causation. If I were to provide data that I purported to support causation, you would have a valid argument. But I did not, which begs the question as to why you made the original statement.

I'm also not sure what Todd, Matt Cassel, or KC's running game have anything to do with Channing Crowder. I would hope not every thread would turn into a defense of Chad Henne's performance. But considering the direction the forum is taking, it appears this manner of communication is becoming the norm.
