If you are going to insist on using that name, at least spell it correctly. It is Winnfield with two n's.
You're welcome. I am only here to help. ;)

Just curious why our starting safety is in the game that late.

Very elusive, hard to square him up for the real KO shot.

I liked a lot of what I saw tonight, I can see why they like Jules Winfield, dude was making things happen.

I'd happily trade Livas for Deej being right about Wilson being Bob Sanders jr.

I was a Matt Moore fan when he played for the Panthers. He looked good in 09 and then last year the Panthers were just a bad team. I think he can be our starter.

Exactly!!!!! Henne makes enough mistakes on his own. The huddled masses don't need to blame him when others screw up too.

 You guys mix your metaphors worse than first-year poetry students.

Bob Sanders is 5'8"; he a little man in a big man's game, and he has been injured the last three years IN A ROW because of it.

    Jimmy Wilson is NOT.

You DON'T want to jinx Jimmy Wilson, do you?

Wilson is NOT a Sanders though. Wilson is as much a corner as he is a safety. Sanders was a pure safety. Wilson looks like Ike Taylor or Charles Tillman to me.

Sanders is 5'8 and 205. Wilson is 5'11 and 185. Sanders is a pure safety. Wilson is at least as much a corner as he is a safety.

I'm not seeing a comparison at all.

Sanders is 5'8 and 205, Wilson is like 190.

And the Winnfield thing is more about how he ended up rather then the stuff in the apartment.

Only thing I'd say, maybe, is was Fasano already looking at Henne when the pass was released? It was a pretty short throw, and Henne usually zips them pretty hard. If the pass was halfway there before Fasano picked it up in his vision, it may have handcuffed him. Still I can't blame Henne for accuracy on the play.

For pete's sakes folks, Henne did alright, Sparano said that the 2nd int was a Wr running a wrong route.

Which happens with a new offensive install, the Wr and Qb have to read the same thing in the defense.

Moore is more mobile than Jesus was though. He'd stand in the pocket too long, waiting for a receiver to come open and then get nailed. ;)

Ray Willis looked weak getting bull rushed and allowing a sack to 7th round rookie Cliff Matthews.

I don't know how long Colombo played today, but never heard his name for allowing a sack or hit.

I honestly think henne was fine and people will make too big of a deal about what moore did tonight against 3rd stringers. He looked off against the 2nd stringers when he got in the game.

Yes sir. Our OL in the 4th was Barbre and Willis at OTs and Garner at C, with Jerry at LG, Feinga at RG, and Kopa in at one guard late. Near as I could tell.

If you cannot see the game on TV or online, why not just follow it at nfl.com? You'd have up to the minute scores and stats. Kind of silly for using a thread like this as your primary method of following the score.

I thought Jerry played some left guard too. Hard to see the numbers sometimes but the LG was a black man part of the time late in the game.

Usually we keep 5 WRs. Livas as a return specialist could make a case for 6. The rules on punt returns have not changed. So far there have been a lot more KRs than I would have guessed. At least in our game. Watched Oak-Az yesterday and Seabass put some through the uprights on the 35 yd line kickoff.

I know this is late, but I'm drunk and going through the game thread.

anytime? So let's say a QB makes such a bad throw it goes right to the cornerback. But the WR makes a super recovery makes a spectacular play and gets his hands on it to prevent an INT, but doesn't make the catch. It's still the WR's fault? You said anytime.

What about such a terrible throw that nobody has any business catching but the WR makes a spiderman move somehow gets his hands on it, it's still the WR's fault. Really? Anytime?

    I think that's such a ridiculous notion

That's how it would look today.
Gates is a lock, and Wallace appears to have pulled ahead of Marlon Moore for the 5th spot.

Yeah, Garner showing his flexability. Glad he's at 3rd center and not Incognito, even though if both Pouncey and Berger went down, you'd think Incog would go to center and someone else would fill at guard?

yeah anytime... :shifty:... they are wide receivers... they get PAID to CATCH the BALL. not to let it bounch off them and into the defenders waiting hands. Anytime it ends up as an INT (should clarify I suppose for those that are inebriated :shifty:)

I didn't see it. it was as they qb broke towards the LOS. I'd have to go back and look for it... not that important. If Kopa makes the team I'll be stunned.

Berger needs to show he can do something besides being just the backup center. I don't think we keep a reserve OL for just playing that spot. Hopefully he gets some guard reps. Berger was more a guard when we signed him anyway.
Figure if our starting OL is as today, but Jake at LT. There would be at most 4 reserves on the 53 and maybe only 3. Right now, I'd say Murtha and Garner are the front runners for 2 of those spots. Jerry may get another year to develop because of his draft status and the embarrassment of cutting a 2nd year 3rd rounder whom we personally worked with in the Senior Bowl. When you got a guy in that environment, and take him high, it's like he had an extra stamp or approval, that so far he ain't lived up to. I think his brother has been a disappointment in Atlanta too. Berger could make it as the 3rd or 4th reserve OL. He'll help his odds if he plays some guard and holds his own though.

He gave them the money, but not the wallet. Remember he told Pumpkin to take out the money and count it. His reformation was wandering the earth. I kind of hope Wilson hangs around Miami for a few years. ;)

yup, it's ridiculous to think receivers get paid millions to catch the ball. If it doesn't hit them right in the numbers, in stride, they should be able to just sit down and enjoy a ham sammich.
