No. He's ( and seemingly you also), using 1 quarter of play. You see, CK, can't always base an opinion on the old situation and then try to use it to justify your opinion on a new situation. On top of that, you can't make other people "see" things that didn't happen. The situation of the Dolphins has changed and as so it's hard to use last years opinion of Henne on this year's Henne because we've only seen one preseason game. You can't make rational people see that Henne was responsible for that INT, for example, just because you WANT him to be responsible. You can't make rational, objective people believe that Henne played as poorly as you believe he played yesterday. Even with those 2 INT's he had an 80+ QBR. You can't make rational people believe that Henne is solely responsible for the Dolphins going 7-9 the last two seasons. You can't make rational people believe that after one preseason game the Dolphins suck and suck mostly because of Henne.
The TD to Hartline was a beautiful thing for the scarcity of that play, a pass hit in full stride to a WR. All of our routes to this point seemed to have been designed for the receiver to stop somewhere and wait for a pass; this one was pretty.
This is such horse****, and I'm tired of this kind of argument. When YOU bring analysis and opinions based on your work instead of just opinions based on disagreeing with others, the YOU too can have others listen, the way your target here has earned it. I'm so ****ing sick of coming here to talk about the Dolphins and having to slog through pages of this ****ing drivel, criticizing other people for what they think and say. **** OFF, all of you who think this is what we are here for.
And that right there is the problem. Some fan DO actually point to those 2 INT's even though he's not responsible for one and there's an argument that he wasn't for the second. lol And the "pro" Henne fans are correct in that Henne did avoid sacks, he did have a great 10yrd run and he did throw a nice long bomb to Hartline.
I'm sick of hearing *****ing and moaning by a bunch of grown men 24/7, but that's just the situation we are in. I don't know bout y'all but I Plan to enjoy football season. Reading these bickering posts between both sides of the coin is just depressing. Have a beer and watch the game. We ALL know what we have in the Miami Dolphins. Can't change it. Just watch the games. We didn't beg the lockout to end just so we could all burn our bras. Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
It's kind of hard to post analysis when I have to wade through subjective crap all the time. My disagreeing with CK, and pointing out why I disagree, is just as much of an analysis as anything. I've spent many hours watching games and looking at the numbers. I've posted many stats that I myself had to compile in order to further my analysis. If you can't see that CK has become just another subjective person then I'm not sure I can get you to see anything. It seems he's posting more out of emotion than anything else.
Just wanted to add, I replayed the first half and tried to watch all of Colombo's pass blocking attempts and he did just fine from what I could tell. Moved just fine. Never had help. Never allowed a pressure or a hit.
Your "analysis" is of the opinions of others and why they're wrong, not on the topic. This nitpicking another's view and insisting that THEY'RE wrong for having it, instead of simply stating your own view, is what's wrong. The petty bickering just adds to the overall downgrade of conversation. Don't get me wrong, you're far from the only one, I just used your posts because they're on the last page. I could have cited close to a hundred posts just today that exemplify this bull****.
God bless man I totally agree with you. I love coming here to talk people and get different viewpoints from people. The constant bickering and singling out of posters is getting out of hand. The QB is a sensitive issue. Everyone knows that. But the personal attacks need to stop. You won't agree with what every poster says, but if you don't let it go and agree to f***ing disagree.
I am not sure what was more UGLY...watching the Dolphins fall behind 17-0 or reading this thread. Hopefully, there will be a respectable comeback in this thread like the Dolphins did last night.
How'd you grade Carey's performance Mr. C? I thought his pass blocking was ok.. run blocking on the other hand... He seemed slow off the ball and against a d line like the Falcons was really exposed. My next goal is to go back and look at the other right guards.
I don't post here much, but I agree with this completely. The poster you're referring to here is by far the most obnoxious I've encountered on this board.
Glad to hear no one engaged in an illegal push in the back. Didn't get called for unnecessary roughness or illegal use of the hands either?
What about the outside defender? Do you think Henne could have intentionally not led him because of Fasano having a defender ahead as well as behind him? I wish the Atlanta feed had a better slow mo replay of it. The first time I saw the replay of the play live it appeared the pass hit him between the 8 and the 0. Last night I watched the first half again and it appeared the pass hit him on the outer edge of the 0 but still within the framework of his body. Some folks maintain the pass doinked off his facemask but it appears to me like it ricochets off the front of his should pads. Had Henne hit him in the belly with the pass he may have been able to corral it. Unless of course his abs are hard as steel such as mine. Good thing is Henne did not put all he had into the throw. So it is good to see some touch on shorter passes like that. (I remember the Bears years ago had a rocket armed QB, lefty, a better runner than passer, named Bobby Douglas. He could throw a ball through a car wash and it not get wet. That's how good his arm was. Accuracy that would make Henne look like Montana though. Hehehe. Anyway I remember him on short passes like that give the receiver his #1 fastball, and of course it liked to killed them. Well totally handcuff them anyway.)
You're all scaring me. Not that there's anything wrong with that......well. C'mon guys. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kl1rRxG251s
I didn't peg you for a dark meat fan. lol. MrClean is a leg & thigh guy, too, so you're in good company. PS: nice save there you knucklehead.
That makes sense. There are many symbiotic relationships in sports. Good assist man in basketball can set up the better shooters, the list goes on and on. One of our more learned and opinionated former posters, whom I kind of miss btw, used to say WRs were totally dependent on the QB's ability as a passer. Well, to me I see the QB just as dependent on the WR's ability to run precise routes, get open, go up in traffic and make an acrobatic catch, etc. I see them both as dependent upon being put in the best system to utilize their skills too. Circumstances play such an important part. Let's say for the sake of discussion, Cincy or Detroit drafted Tom Brady and hence he never got to work under Charlie Weis or Bill Belichick. How many Lombardi Trophy would Brady have lifted by now? How many fans would be calling him the best QB of the past decade?
I've often thought about that; specifically, about what if the Dolphins had drafted Brady in the 5th that year? Not likely, given who was in charge then; but how might that have gone? Would talent out, like murder? Or would Brady have been buried in the QB graveyard that over a dozen other signal-callers now occupy?
I thought they both were talking about the incompletion that came after Henne avoided the corner blitz and rolled to his right before throwing.
Nice pic Pappy. Thanks for sharing. That says a lot of good about SNL imo. A smurf with bad balance would go down there. Where you find that pic anyway?
