Well first of all here is where intent doesnt come thru. never intended to be offensive to you, so if I did I apologize not my intent. Like I said my original post had nothing to do with you. My later responses..... Oh well I am not arguing this anymore.
Listen, you're really incapable of reading my posts without saying inflammatory and unnecessarily baiting, insulting things about them. You're going on my Ignore List. I'm sorry to say. You're probably a nice guy. But it's better for me that I don't see anything that you have to say, and it's better for the site. I've suggested you do the same and I won't take any offense to it. For whatever reason the clouds I paint all look like baby killers to you. It is what it is. I don't think they look that way to most other people but certainly to the ones that share your belief I say, use the Ignore List. You'll be better for it, I'll be better for it, the site will be better for it.
I disagree. It's my assessment that the pass was about 3 feet to the right of ideal front shoulder ball placement.
For the record I never said you were arrogant, I dont know you personally, I dont make personal judgments on peole I dont know. I never said your intent was this or that, never projected intent, I have no idea what your intent was. I admitted arrogance was probably a bad descriptor. I simply stated that some posts not only yours can come off as dismissive, that is my opinion, never stated as fact. I also never intended for any argument to turn into a point where it got to having to use the ignore function. If you choose to do so, that is your right, I wont be offended, but never intended the argument to go there. And I never intended to project anything on you, if that is how it read, then evidently I am as guilty in my posts as i have said about others and will have to watch how I word things
Every quarterback makes bad throws, absolutely. And that throw wasn't simply a question of ball placement, it was a straight up miss...although that's not necessarily an easy throw. Screens can be pretty dicey.
To his upper back shoulder. A place where any QB would say is poor ball placement. One of the reasons why you do not throw it to the upper back shoulder is that if the receiver does drop the ball there is a good chance of the ball bouncing up and causing an interception.
That was Henne's first INT all season. Regardless, it was a horrible throw. My point was that all QB's make horrible throws and I showed what a horribel throw looked like. Henne's throw was not a bad throw. It his his TE in the hands....period.
FIrst pass in the first preseason game after a shortened preseason and a new offense without 3 of their offensive stars. Context.
Yes, what do you think? Just trying to be a smart@ss? One foot plus is much less than 2-3 feet. If perfect accuracy was dead center of the body, then a radius of 2-3 ft is well outside the body. As I'm sure you could see, that pass was inside the framework of his body.
Here's a replay at :28 mark of the throw. One thing to note is the defender to the outside as well. Looking at that, if Henne leads Fasano that ball is picked, broken up, or Fasano is laid out.
which is why most of the blame of that play does go on Fasano. However I do agree that if Fasano did catch the pass, I do think that the pass is still poor.
It hit Fasano in the chest through both his hands. High school Junior Varsity players can make that catch. Yes, it wasn't perfect ball placement, but it hit Fasano in the numbers. He needs to catch it. Its 90% Fasano's fault, 10% Henne's if that. More leaning towards 95% Fasano, 5% Henne. If Henne throws it in front of him to lead him, he will get laid out by the squatting DB and or picked off.
Dupree likes to troll me. He likes to read me for days and then when he thinks he's found a "gotcha" moment he'll comment. Only problem is that his "gotcha" moments typically get shot down...like now. lol
but who is in postion to catch a ball that is thrown too far in front. Instead, Henne hits Fasano right in the mother****ing hands and he drops it...lol...
I don't agree with that. As I've looked at that play, there was a lot of room between the front defender. There was no reason to throw behind on that play. When the ball arrives at Fasano, the front side defender isn't even in frame yet. That means he was at least 5 yards away from Fasano when the ball arrived. You've got to put that ball on the front shoulder. Not WAY out in front, and not behind, but front shoulder.
The guy is two yards away and closing in. If Henne leads him, they are both running full speed into each other. How is he not in position? Edit: He is probably a little more than 3, but he is closing in until he sees the ball pop up at which point he slows himself down.
Fair enough, then the pass hitting just to the left of dead center, or even square on the left shoulder, is not 2-3 feet from the front shoulder.
It's a matter of physics though. When the ball arrives at Fasano's hands the defender is still at least 5 or 6 yards away.
Does Henne's arm get hit as he releases? It is hard to tell in that footage but I know another poster had mentioned that Henne's arm was hit on the follow-through. I'm not trying to make excuses or say that Henne is great - he definitely struggles with accuracy - but in THIS CASE, can anyone tell if there is contact with his arm by the defender?
