-Going over the division. Howard David chooses the Patriots to repeat as champs. Ross Tucker gives praise to the Jets for winning 4 road playoff games, but doesn't think they are going to do that again. He seems to be leaning towards the Pats as well.

-Reviewing the Jets offseason moves (boring)

-Talking about Sean Smith again. Calling him a "poor man's A-Cro"

-VD is labeled as one of the "best kept secrets." Smith is going to get a lot of opportunities to make plays on balls (hopefully better than last year!)

-Back to the Pats talk (boring)

-Bengals talk now. these guys are all over the board.

They are saying Vontae Davis is one of the best kept secrets in the NFL outside of South Florida.

They are rambling on about other teams such as the Bengals.

I need to leave the office. I will listen in the car and update later.

They just said before commercial break that they will be talking to more players soon.

    Henne on now.

His robotic voice is putting me to sleep.

Talking about miscues between receivers and not reading coverages correctly in the Falcons game.

Giving mixed answer about Daboll's offense "puts a lot on the plate as a QB, but a lot of fun"

I missed a lot. Hard to follow while working. And It was dull. Reminded me just how little personality Henne has. At least when talking to the media.

-Talking about Matt Moore now. Ross Tucker doesn't think we know enough about Moore yet to judge him. Howard David feels that he isn't better than Henne, and that if Henne fails, than Miami is in trouble.

-Tucker says he isn't going to kill Henne over one bad throw against the Falcons.

-Mentions our schedule is tough. Questioning our offensive line again. Says it has the potential to be better than last year, but they need to run the ball better than last year. Doesn't think Henne is good enough by himself putting the ball up 40 times a year.

-Talking about Brian Daboll. Howard David wonders why he will work here, when he didn't in Cleveland. Ross Tucker seems to think that the talent here is better pretty much across the board, than in Cleveland.

-Henne joins them on the phone now

-Says the offense this year is designed to make more plays down the field and if it isn't there, check down, but overall, let the playmakers make plays

-Talking about the Falcons game, said there were miscues between himself and the receivers that they didn't adjust to. But he liked his footwork and the determination of the team to come back from 17-0.

-Says Daboll puts a lot on his plate. He thinks the added responsibility helps him as a QB as you learn more about the defense, making the calls, etc.

-Says the criticism he has received is part of the job. Just trying to get better. He has been dealing with it since he was in high school

-Says that Reggie Bush is very versatile and is bringing a lot of leadership to the team and unit (good to know). Feels that Reggie has a chip on his sholders from his doubters too (seems to be a theme, this year).

    -Sparano is next

-Sparano on now. Said he loves the challenges of being a coach. Doesn't get too high or too low.

-Explained the reasoning of practicing in the hottest part of the day (weather related, to a degree)

-Says that the offseason was unique, but that he believes in this team and where they are going. Says we were a 7 win team, which is isn't good enough. Mentioned the Pittsburg game, Buffalo game and Cleveland game as winnable games that they didn't get it done in the 4th quarter.

-Can't explain the losses at home other than that we turned the ball over too often. Feels they concentrated better on the road.

-Says Henne is getting better and better and that the ball is down the field more often this training camp than Sparano has een in a long time ( I assume this includes Dallas camps too)

-Says Henne's stats in certain categories stack up to the GOOD QB's well. Needs to do better with turnovers, and pulling the trigger on deep balls (which he is doing much better at this year)

-Sees bigger play potential and speed on offense which will help the offense catch up. Spoke with Nolan that the defense may have to carry early though.

-Tucker grills Sparano about the line and all of the changes he has made (good question). Sparano thinks the line is coming together. The new CBA rules hindered the o-line as 4 players couldn't practice right away (good point). Really likes Pouncey at center. Said he moved Carey inside because he wanted to surround the new guy with veterans (Incognito/Carey), which I think makes sense too. Says Culombo is a guy he knows from Dallas and knows what he gets out of him.

-Asked about the criticism from the media. Sparano said the job security isn't his concern. The players had his back when everything went down which motivated him to come back, for them.

-The schedule came up about the long road stretch. Sparano chuckled and said that the good news is, the Dolphins play well on the road. It is different in that we end the year at home which differs from years past.

-Playing to their own expectations and not to anyone else's.

I find it hilarious that he always talks about the players having his back, yet fails to acknowledge how they completely quit on him in Week 17 against the Pats which led to Ross's flirtation with Harbaugh in the first place

The only stuff I liked from the Henne/Sparano interview was th enews of going downfield more often. I really hope that is true. I also sort of see Sparano's logic on the o-line mashup this year. Whether it works or not, I don't know.

-Howard David sees this as a 7-9 club again, mainly for the defense.

-Ross Tucker thinks Sparano needs to get to 9 or 10 wins in order to save his job.

-Going over the schedule again, and talking about not letting inferior teams beat you (like the Browns and Bills last year).

    -Wrapping up after the break.

    Fairly standard stuff.

Highlights for me are as follows:

-Soliai's play in practice today continues his excellent progression as a player

-Odrick/Langford both agree that the d-line is the best part of the team. We are legit deep across the line.

-Lydon Murtha is a dirty cheapshot artist ( )

-Sean Smith was benched because of his off the field issues, and he manned up to it 100%.

-The ball is going down the field a lot more than usual in camp.

-Daboll's offense puts more on Henne's plate, but he wants that challenge.

-Reggie Bush is taking a leadership role quickly with Miami.

-Sparano's practice times are two fold, one to get people acclimated ot the weather and two, due to So. Florida weather (thunderstorms, rain, etc.).

-Sparano's o-line shuffling actually has some thought to it. Pouncey is impressing Sparano early.

-Defense will have to carry this team early as the offense catches up. Sparano feels the more aggressive offense and the added speed will help that process happen quicker.

Yeah sorry for the absence of detail guys. Bottom line I was very disappointed with Sparano and Henne's interviews. Henne was extremely dull, and Sparano said the same stuff he always says. Sounded like the same old dull press conferences we heard last year. John Harbaugh is on right now giving a great interview and just sounds so much more intelligent than Sparano. I know that's a terrible thing to say and it's based on nothing substantial, but Sparano's accent and speech patterns just rub me the wrong way.

Chris Perkins just started covering the dolphins and he was saying that we would be a more vertical offense this yr, Salguero and the Amigo could not believe it and laughed and guffawed, but we all saw what we saw in the Atlanta game, sometimes it takes fresh eyes and perspectives.

Sorry i couldn't post any notes, was listening but couldn't type.

Samphin provided everything. I must say it was one of the worst Sirius training camp tours i've heard in 4 + years. Howard David is a moron. Talk about a guy who puts a negative spin on everything, he was more focued on why we can't succeed than why have optimism that we can succeed. Ross Tucker was good. But together they were all over the map, besides the interviews they didn't talk any dolphin football. More about the Pats, Jets, Bills, Ravens. Lee evans trade, pats offseason, Jets offseason. Really disapointed to be honest.

I wish we would have had Tim and Pat instead of Howard David, they tend to ask better football questions to the players and coaches. x and o's type of camp material not what the fans perseption of Sparano and Henne are. This was a tabloid sirius training camp version IMO, not an inside look at our football teams offseason.

I liked 2 things in particular - the offense trying to stretch the field with deep throws, Chad pulling the trigger on deep throws more at will this year and limiting makeing bad decisions, and moving Carey to RG because Sparano wanted a vet on that line playing next to the rookie, Pouncy, because he thinks the C position is so important to the overall success of the unit.

I agree. Ross Tucker was alright. Then i tune in for three seconds for the Ravens camp with Pat and Tim and they are right involved with position battles and un secured roster spots. We got terrible hosts this year.

Sirrius NFL is overrated. There is a small window of good times to listen other than that they are a bunch of hose whackers looking to make friends with the callers and give them nicknames. The sad part is his is what most of sports journalism has turned into.

Thanks for all the updates, guys.

I saw on Twitter Omar was saying that Sparano continues to drop the "right now" bombs whenever he talks about Henne and Moore.

It's obvious Tony is trying to make everyone aware that the Dolphins could still make a move on another quarterback. Why, is anyone's guess. Maybe they really might, or maybe he just wants people to think they might, but this is a conscious decision.
