Like that's the only thing being alleged. That was the beginning of the relationship.

I know Auburn out and out paid Cam Newton, and now Miami will suffer from less than that. Miami is a SMALL private school, that never should have been as big as it was. I offer this analogy :

Miami is a poor black inner city kid - Alabama, Texas Okalahoma, Florida and Ohio St, are the white rich lawyers and doctors. The BCS & the National Championship polls are the Country Club. Back in 1983 Miami broke into the all white Country Club and those Alabama's & Oklahoma's didn't like this, and that is the reason most of those rich schools HATE & LOATHE Miami. They couldn't stand the swagger & youthful exuberance displayed by that said black kid. Remember the stink made about Miami at the Cotton Bowl in Jan 1991 ? 202 yards of penalties, and yet Miami still beat (an unbeaten) Texas 46-3, in front of 75,000 Longhorn fans. They have never forgiven Miami for that. Texas made sure that the very next year the "Miami Rules" were in place against showing "swagger" on the field at NCAA games.

Miami is Royally f*cked now, because the NCAA is made up of mostly "doctors & lawyers" and will make sure the "poor black kid" is banned because not only did the poor black kid break into the Country Club, he started beating those "doctors & lawyers" on the clubs very own golf courses & tennis courts.

They got Miami in 1995 with the Pell grants scandal. They hit Miami really hard, and most people thought the program was done for then. But Miami came back, and won a MNC in 2001 and almost won back to back (and many think they really did and were cheated out of 2002) and that P.O.'d the powers that be even more than ever. While Miami has slipped over the last few years, the "doctors & lawyers" in the "Country Club" have never forgotten that Miami was left to die, yet they didn't completely kill the Canes and they came back.

This time they will leave no doubt about it, and those big schools I am sure, will be pushing the NCAA to give Miami the death penalty to make no doubt about it this time. It has taken more than 20 years for SMU to just get back to a mid-level (if that) D1 school. Miami doesn't have the resources that SMU has, and it will be even harder, maybe impossible for Miami to ever revive the program, so I do believe that "the powers that be" will be behind the scenes pushing to get Miami the Death Penalty.

I sure as hell would feel much better if we were buying athletes. It seems like the only guy we bought was a bball player, and the football players were just getting to hang out with Shapiro.

Yep, this is one of the reasons why it is just not smart to listen to the media atm, Yahoo and ESPN, who seems to have a thing against Miami, from the Dolphins to the Heat to the U.

So it's against the law to pay for stories, or to pay convicts for stories? Because my logic says, Yahoo has some deep deep pockets and every radio show/newspaper across America (including ESPN)are saying Yahoo Sports and the reporter's name every 5mins. Not to mention all the hits the article is amassing so they're gaining an awful lot from this. If it's for free, them some lucky guys.

it is against the law to funnel money to a guy in jail for a story and then hide the fact, since the guy's finances are currently being accounted for by.....the Dept. of Justice and IRS.

yeah...it is criminal to try to get money to ponzi schemers under the table.

so yes..this reporter has been asked on more than a few occasions, if Yahoo has paid this guy..and he has said "absolutely not". SO yes, he would be committing a crime if he is lying, especially since this midget has not been sentenced yet.

Yahoo :shifty: JK. But seriously the government should investigate the investigation. Just to make sure he did not get any benefits for making them the most popular website in the last 48 hours.

How can we expect Al Golden to stay? It's a bit selfish IMO. I'm loving what Golden has been doing, but let's be honest; He'll be gone at the end of the season.

If heard Yahoo Sports at least hundreds of times today(just on one radio station), is that not a reason?
I've been redirected at least 20 times to the same Yahoo Sports The U article, still not a reason?

Shapiro is going to write a book and make millions.

Yahoo can sensationalize anything and make it a big story.

Shapiro is making a lot more out of this relatively speaking.

Yahoo sports is actually doing, you know, journalism. Unlike ESPN, the have no incentive to protect UM and the NCAA. ESPN broadcasts and covers college football. They don't have an incentive to dig and uncover any type of misconduct. Its bad for their business.

All the recent college scandals have been broken by Yahoo. They're not on the take, they're just doing their job!
