Well if it's a rating based on that new Total QBR thing that ESPN came up with, then it's really good as I believe that one only goes up to 100.

Oh, this is such a crock of crap Padre. It's not just about 24 nice throws tonight, its about the way he handled himself on the field and the offense as a whole, in addition to those 24 throws. He showed complete command of the offense, his arm, looks like he swapped around a few plays at the line, made something out of what should have been nothing on some plays. He played like a veteran QB tonight IMO in an offense we've been installing during a lockout shortened offseason/training camp. Sure he missed on two deep passes that he should have hit on, but all in all, compared to the performances we've seen from him in the past, this is really damn good and something that does deserve praise. Enough already.

yeah, those deep throws would've been the icing on the cake.
I'm ok with that if we run them 3-4 times per game, making it ok to miss on 2 if 1 is still a connection.

Besides, the incompletions still help keep a defense on its toes, right?

yeah he just kind of trotted off to the side and then thought, eh why not, lets turn on the jets and see what I can get here. If he had scored, yeah, i would have needed a new pair of undies.

Aside from missing the two deep balls, the only thing I'd say Henne was out and out bad on was the play that he missed Fasano wide open over the middle and in the process of trying to dump it to Daniel Thomas I believe, nearly threw a pick. As Griese said, just get it out of bounds all together. Other than that I think he played pretty darn well. Granted, it's preseason.

Exactly, at least we're taking shots down the field after the first play of the game.

QBR rating is skewed toward TD passes and yds per attempt. If you are high enough on those, having a low comp pct and a few ints won't pull it down much.

Oh sure, and I advocate for them, and not Henne Hatin', just saying remain in balance, do not let the bad overwhelm the good, or think the good was perfect.

That is sort of how I think Coaches think.

I think the real mark of how good/bad this offense/Chad Henne really are is next week against Tampa Bay. I know the Bucs got rocked last night, but they'll be a good test next week. Let's see what they do then.

more than likely yes on that one. If I were at a bar, they'd probably be flushed down the toilet.

The first glaring change I noticed was the offense had a much quicker pace to it. Henne- other than a couple of deep passes that were over thrown- looked solid as did Marshall and Bess. Bush was very impressive out there also. Putting things in perspective it was only pre-season against the horrible Panthers but the first stringers deserve credit.

I think one would be surprised as to how well an offense can run, and be effective when the offense is tailor made and built around your quarterback's strengths! It doesn't take a keen football eye to see that this offense Daboll has installed fits more of Henne's strengths.

Henne has put in some work trying to improve his mobility. Everyone and their brother knew this was a weakness of his, and it looks like he has really improved in this area of his game.
