    Ah gotcha...

back to topic :) I'm pretty thrilled that our boy played as well as he did last night...got the ball into the hands of the guys who can make things happen. I really think that if we spread out teams like the Jets who are so blitz happy, the potential for huge plays off of short passes is really going to be high.

Hey Henne doubter here......didn't like past Head work, making proper reads and accuracy.
But you have to admit that the OL gave him all day back there to do his thing so he didn't have to dance around and had plenty of time to make decisions..............looking forward to the same clarity when he is under pressure....

But I'm not here to bash Henne, he did well and showed improvement despite all day back there...and improvement is a big plus and I hope it continues...........Not afraid to express positive if I see it

Why would I admit that. You mean from the ESPN highlights you saw. :wink2:
You mean like when he escaped the the blitz more than once and made plays with his legs. You obviously didn't watch the game or you wouldn't make false statements like this.

I couldn't believe Henne's running, he can really move.
Considering what this guy has been through he played with a level of confidence I didn't think he could have.
    Good for him.

It is amazing what a little coaching will do for a QB. Those two clowns last season did nothing at all to help Henne. Now he has better awareness and a sense of urgency that wasn't there previously. I'm not real surprised actually and I've said all along you give this QB a little confidence and it will go a long way. Henning never did that and it shows. Henne is better than most give him credit for but those are the impatient whiny fans who don't understand young QB development. I've even been shocked at the folks who understand the game throwing him under the bus. I don't see those people around today. Oh the irony.

After this performance, i sure hope fans at practice get a Henne chant going in support of him. Was a great 2 quarters for him and the team, the offense needed this.

Did you notice Henne actually changing plays at the line? I sure as hell did, and it wss a very welcome change, as well as "Crazy Legs" Henne running. He is a much different QB from a year ago.

Henne didn't always have all day back there, so you're wrong.
I think he did well. I'm not getting my hopes up too much, but it was great to see what resembled an offense last night.

No, it's just the way you say it, Abbi, as if Henne only did well b/c he had some protection, as if QB's aren't supposed to be protected..... and if they succeed b/c of this protection, then it's like cheating or something.

The good YAC was due to Henne throwing some pretty accurate passes IMO. One of the passes he threw to Reggie Bush in stride was beautiful. Reggie didn't have to change his speed or make any adjustments.

How is this play for performing under pressure?

Makes a coordinated, athletic play just to handle the snap including taking eyes off the field to make sure he secures the ball. Stays calm and senses pressure from backside. Uses legs to roll right avoiding rusher but keeps eyes down the field of play. Throws strike to Fasano resulting in 38 yard gain.

LOL, I think with the amount of pessimism that has been floating around here this off-season some koolaid could be a good thing. Not a lot of kool-aid and certainly not spiked but its nice to have at least a little optimism don't ya think?

I am not the first to ask this question, but we are indeed, waiting for an answer.

How was Fitzy's yac against the vaunted Denver Broncos?

    Passing

    R. Fitzpatrick 6/16 44yds 0TD 1 INT

44 first team yards passing...I WANT TO KNOW THE YAC...NOW.

There were a couple of breakdowns in pass pro, but overall our starting OL did a good job in that regard.

    its a team sport
all Henne has to do to give us a shot @ the post season is manage the game in a yeoman-like fashion
once Sparano fixes the starting offensive line, I believe this will be the case

He's a young guy with a very difficult job and has taken alot of abuse, he's shown he can take it and based on what Marshall Reggie and DT have said he's manage to take control.
Very different offense that plays to his strengths and the weapons to help him get the job done.
Can you imagine what this kid must have felt like with the lack of support from the fans and coaches, he still kept plugging along.
As far as having enough time because of the OL well isn't that precious I often thought that Brady had enough time to mix a martini before he had to through the ball.

The way I say it... I mean come on give me a break...what do you want, me to e-mail you and you express my opinions in your words ? A few in here actually have that impression ........now the point

Thats true I think having great protection most of the night was a huge factor for the level of success Henne had..Or Carolina,s defense didn't show up...

I am concerned with Henne under the pressure he will face much of the time in the regular season.....

This shouldn't come as a big surprise, We all should be concerned due to past experiences....
It's one of the areas Henne needs to improve to be a legit starter....

He did well under good circumstances Friday and I'm glad to see it but still have to see him be more in tune and successful under normal pressure.

Henne played welll and took advantage of the opportunity given which is a plus...but it's should not be surprising to understand that Sufficient time has the effect to improve most QB's playing efficiency..

Will Chad be more aware in the pocket...when having less time making reads and decisions then throwing accurately enough, and doing it on somewhat of a consistent basis which is something that he has not shown to do to this point IMO.... again to this point

Hey he had a good game and I was glad to see him make most of the intermediate and short throws, I just would like to see how well he's progressed when he is faced with a more normal pass rush which he will see a lot more of in the regular season........

I'm not sure what you mean about great pass protection. I recall at least 2 maybe 3 instances where he had to tuck and run for yards. another with him stepping up after the pocket collapsed. and at least one or two rollouts on pressure. not saying that the line played terrible. but he didn't have an all pro line performance.

So you say the line didn't play terrible so were they average, fair, good, very good, obviously not pro line performace.
Henne had mostly great protection and time IMO and the starters if you noticed also were pretty good with the ground game for all of our RB's did have a successful night ( with possibly the goal line stance weak but successful)

Let me just say this, since we do not seem to see the same pass protection success he had more time in the pocket this game than I predict 90% of the games he will face in the regular season.

Henne will never get credit for anything he does well and all those fans that are looking for him to fail will be right at some point, if that's what you are looking for you'll see it.

Sounds like the start of a Thread thats sour grapes and envious. Who starts a thread on an opposing teams chat board with that title? ( and don't try to convince me otherwise.)

The sign of a good offensive scheme and a QB playing it to it best ability.... Yards after the Catch!

Well considering where he's coming from and the fact that this was the first time he had his new guys around without his left tackle, I thought he had control of the game, he moved the ball with confidence, completed passes and put the offense in a position to win.Now in New York if their QB Sanchez played like Henne did on Friday they would be erecting a statue like the Fins did for Marino. The one thing I can't stand is the undermining job they've done to Henne, there where people here crying because we didn't get Orton I mean Orton and blaming the Henne for all of last years problems.
I know it's Carolina but did you see anybody run like Reggie last year, I mean even in the last two years.
Henne checkdown to Reggie just a lost opportunity, Brady checkdown to Woodhead brilliant, Sanchez checkdown to LT exudes leadership.
Henne with the right coaching can get the job done, the key in my opinion is to put him in a position to succeed and I don't believe the coaches did that last year and certainly they didn't help his confidence, the fans chanting Orton are a bunch of Aholes.
You give this guy the best chance to succeed and if he doesn't then you move on.
Ho I forgot, his so called star receiver who berated him during games has anger management problems, that really helped Henne last year.
This is the first time in a while we got somebody with potential and we strangle him.
You heard Beck maybe starting with the Redskins played well and he also wasn't good enough, after Miami got done with him he needed a 12 step program with the Ravens.
This thread was stated by a Bills fun trying to lower the results Henne generated and the spirit of your comments were along the same lines the OL did it Henne is lucky to have such a solid group of guys in front.
M.Vick something like 50 yards and three interceptions the "dream team" I think he got more support than Henne did for his solid performance
