hmm i really doubt we keep grigsby, he seems practice squad material... we'll need 4 RBs though, guessing we'll sign someone?
Had high hopes for him after last year and his positive attitude going into camp, but he just didn't show much in the 2 games.
Wow. Surprised to see this happen so soon. CK said from the start that Sheets was as good as gone, but I thought he had a decent chance to make the squad.
Daniel Thomas, Reggie Bush and Clinton Portis........hmmmm Clinton take a discount to come home to miami ?!
Clinton Portis has 3 career passing TDs and a 116 QB Rating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WILDCAT?!?!!?!?!?!?!? /end dumb fan remarks
My guess is they wanted to give him a shot to catch on somewhere else. I was in the group that thought Sheets had no shot. IMO Grigsby runs with better instincts and really impressed me with his pass blocking last game. I won't say Grigsby is a lock or anything, but I like his odds better than most of the vet options out there based on the salary cost alone and upside alone.
\ If a number in that range is cursed I'd say more #33 than #23. Surtain did #23 proud for a good many years. When I saw Thomas trying a goal line leap wearing #33...Sammie Smith flashed through my brain from 20 years ago.
Southeast Jerome back in Miami? Good vet, but also weary as injuries have held him out of 19 games the past two seasons.
I'd also like to see what Portis has left in the tank. A lot of times you get these guys on a different team and they're able to rejuvinate themselves. If Portis can be like he was a few seasons ago he'd help this team a lot!
Ill put it this way, Id rather Portis flash for us here and there, then come out and beat us with the Patriots......and you know he would!
Yeah, but wasn't most of that due to a severe concussion? I know he missed time last season with a groin injury, but you'd think that would be cleared up by now.
He could be more than just that. Portis could handle 150-200 carries for the season if need be. He's only played 13 total games the last two seasons, he should be well rested. Even with less work, due to injuries, when he has still been an effective runner.
And a lot more experience. If Portis can come in and share carries with Bush and Thomas we'd have a very nice 3-headed monster!
His ego was bigger than his talent. We need veteran backup and I expect we will be adding a RB soon, most likely a power back that can get into the endzone.
Wow, Daniel Thomas has been a major disappointment? Really? I like the idea of picking up Portis. Just at least for his blitz pick-up skills vs. the Jets. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?deskto...e.com/watch?v=ErX6oZG7Gvs&v=ErX6oZG7Gvs&gl=US
@ Sheets being released. I was pulling for him. Portis? I guess locker room clown / cross dresser is available since #52 has been gone.
Yeah, I think that was an ignorant comment by PFT. I was very pleased with his 5.2 avg. last game. I was even more pleased by how he got better as the game progressed. It looks like he learns quickly.
