Here is my question. Is Daboll's system TE-heavy? I really don't know, but New England's is (and that's basically where he came from). The past few years we've only carried two TE's. If we go three that's one thing. However, neither Heap nor Fasano are going to be on special teams. Charles Clay most certainly will, but how often would we carry three TE's to a game? I'm one that thinks the athletic Clay is going to be given a fairly significant role immediately opposite Fasano. And that could be a factor at play here.
IIRC, it wasn't TE heavy in Cleveland. But I don't think he necessarily has a pre-disposition to not using 2 TEs. It most likely depends on the personnel available.
If they want to pay 3 mil for a one hit wonder, who has been in the can for a few years, so be it. Thats what the Jets do. We don't need any long in the tooth question marks at wideout.
If you look at Edwards vs Plax career wise Plax has had the better career. However, at the moment, Edwards is the better player.
Why is it that if Miami had signed Plaxico it would be proof Irelans/Sparano are idiots and need to be fired? But when the Jets sign him it is a great move? Given 2 and 1/2 years of inactivity if Plaxico does pay off it probably won't happen until 2012 when he gets his football legs under him. By then he is 35 and mother nature starts to play a role. In all likelihood Plaxico will never be the WR he once was. Looked to be regressing back in 2008...1st 2 games = 15 catches, 214 yards...final 8 games = 20 catches, 240 yards.
Sucks that the Jets were able to land a player of Plax's caliber. But then again, I'm glad he got to play in the league again after a dumb mistake; everyone deserves a second shot. He's never been a burner and so recovering burst won't be an issue, and his talent (size and length) should make him a valuable weapon in the redzone for Sanchez and gang. Kinda wished we'd been the ones to pull the trigger, seeing as he's probably going to come cheap for the Jets anyway. And with Edwards out of the equation, look for his targets to go up as the season progresses.
Oh please. Vick didn't do jack his first year back into the league. The guy was eating prison food for two years! You think he's gonna regain his fitness in 3 months?!?!?
The Mods have yet to move this Edwards story from the mains, maybe u should go cry to them instead of playing "toy cop"
That is just sad and jealous. but, might as well, if it makes you feel better, since the NBA has been doing exactly THAT to your franchise for 30 years. oh, and as for your cute sig: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEunxNkO5-4&feature=grec_index right back at ya. and this time it wasn't a PF/C on a SF. TOO EASY.
It will take him a while to get back into the flow of playing again, but i think by midseason he will be ok, good signing in my eyes.
