trade talks dont bother/concern me....trade details do.

I am in the camp of willingly seeking to add Tebow as a TE/H-back and special package QB only....especially a short redzone (10yrds and in); or WC package. Let him be listed as TE/H-back on the roster too, and give him touches from this position on the regular offense as well.

If we seek to obtain him...maximize every ounce from him, not simply as a 3rd QB or expecting and putting every egg in the he will be a #1 starting QB in the NFL basket. He offers to many other options with his athleticism and approach/effort when he steps on the field. I am all for him continuing to develop as a QB. But in the shortterm he is a Brad Smith type..get him on the field and get him touches when not in the QB position.

I want the Tebow that scores points..not concerned with any starting QB only narrow mindset. Tebow/Bush single wing attack...hmmm...could be very productive.

Also, the value of what we give up in a trade is the big thing...Merling straight up..fine....add a 7th on top..fine...maybe a 6th fine, but thats it for me (a 5th makes me nervous, and certainly not a 4th or lower). At the end of the day, its still a project whether QB or TE/H-back. Thats it.

I read on there that the Broncos are expected to start by asking for a 4th or a 5th rd pick

I'd rather have Tebow as our #3 than whomever we have now. Which leads me to believe it would make no sense to send anything other than a low round pick for him, if this rumor is true.

Broncos are supposedly looking for a 4th or 5th round pick huh? Hm. Talk about sunkn value if true. I'd throw a 5th their way.

And I agree, I think initially he would be our #3 QB as well. I'd invest some time in him at other positions on the field, maybe TE, or something similar to Clay - Hback stuff.

"Sources" fascinate me in a number of so called rumors. In this case, I would guess it's someone's very young kid, from Miami, who may have said "Me like tee bow" and Mom saying "Yes, tee bow is very nice, and the colors of the ribbon are very pretty."

Thus, we have multiple sources. Pleeeese spare me. LOL

We want Tebow will be the the chant next time Henne throws a pick at home. Fans are ignorant that way.

Worth finding out. And if they don't then you can always just trade Merling to whichever team does want him, getting a draft pick in exchange, which you use to replace whatever draft pick you negotiated for Tebow.

Tebow has willingly stated he is open to the idea of playing anywhere he is told to play. He shows an ability to give it 100% effort. His drills and measurements indicate he has the ability to succeed and aide in the success of this offense in a TE/H-back role. We know he can succeed in putting up points out of special QB packages, and has dominated at a high level of success when inside the 10yrd line and GL situations.

I suspect this is in jest....but I am wondering if folks dont want anything to do with Tebow because of these consistently expressed reasons I know many of us have read in similar threads.

In no particular order and multiple reasons acceptable:

    1) He is a former Gator
    2) He won too many National Championships
    3) He was talked about adnausium in the National Press
    4) He has a openly expressed joy for his God
    5) His family preaches and wants to convert those within ear shot to the word of God
    6) He isnt a prototypical QB
    7) His arm motion is funny
    8) He isnt accurate
    9) He isnt married
    10) I dont need a reason I dont like anybody
    11) add whats ever in vogue for the day's news...

From a football standpont, the kid is a playmaker, a point scorer, he puts points on the board. I would be happy "for the right price" to add him to the roster, the locker room, and the active roster on Sundays.

I saw this Elway quote on line:

New Broncos VP of Football Operations John Elway told SI's Peter King that he does not believe Tim Tebow is a good NFL quarterback.

It appears Elway will not be gearing his head coaching search toward a Tebow backer. "I don’t think Tim Tebow is a good NFL quarterback at this time," said Elway. King believes that the Broncos may try to trade Tebow, and Minnesota makes plenty of sense if Josh McDaniels is hired as offensive coordinator. The Vikings need a quarterback. McDaniels, of course, traded up to select Tebow with the 25th overall pick in last year's draft.
    Source: Profootballtalk on NBC Sports

If Elway is happy with Orton/Quinn/Weber- bring it on.

    http://www.pewterreport.com/Boards/...5.0.html?PHPSESSID=n1dr208f1ou8ph1cof9sfakd47

Looks like the quote was from about 8 months ago, but I doubt that his opinion has changed much.

    Yes it was in jest.

I do suspect Tebow would polarize fans like Culpepper, Ginn, and Chambers did. No player would ever be debated or have more threads about him that does so little to contribute on the field. The love/hate relationship fans have toward him would keep the mods busy trying to maintain peace in the forum. From a team perspective I don't think the potential he has as a player would be worth the chaos that surrounds him to make the trade.

According to ESPN The Zone 93.1 FM the Broncos have placed QB Tim Tebow on the trade block.

The Broncos recently named Kyle Orton their starter this season and demoted Tebow to 3rd string in the depth chart behind Brady Quinn.

Some members of the Broncos organization even gone to say to Mike Silver of Yahoo! Sports that Tim Tebow is the fourth-best QB in training camp behind Adam Weber who is "flat out better".

Tebow was the Broncos first round pick in the 2010 draft by former head coach Josh McDaniels who is now the OC for the Rams.

Eh, a player for player deal would be fine.

To me, here is what I agree with:

    -Tebow is

Better then any #3 Qb currently on the roster
Could play a role in the WC/goal line packages
    Could be developed

    Tebow is not:

-Ready to be a NFL starting Qb week in and week out

If they wish to sell low on Tebow, then sure, a late rd pick or a player like Merling, otherwise pass on him.

They need DL help pretty badly, and Merling was always sort of miscast in the 3-4 anyway.

We need to not confuse the issue here. I don't see how anyone can watch that goalline series from last Friday and not think Tim Tebow would make this team better. That's it. Consider him the new Lousaka Polite (who seems to be on his way out and might not even be as effective behind this new interior) on short yardage situations, only he can throw out of the Wildcat as well. After that, maybe we develop him into a suitable TE/H-back. If he's willing to try, you know he's going to bust his ***. And yes, he can serve as a backup QB with perhaps still an outside possibility that he develops into a starter (though I doubt it).

That's it. If that costs us Philip Merling or a 5th round pick, why not?

Tebow reminds me of Charles Clay. Use him as a wc qb if anything. Not interested in giving more than a 6. Plus he brings a media circus with him wich is normally a distraction.

The point is a definitive negative bias of Elway regarding Tebow, something that I only expected previously. This is the first proof that I've seen of it. Makes me think even moreso that Elway wants to dump Tebow. And that's a good thing imo.

Can Weber play the Wildcat and can he score TDs from the red zone on a consistent basis ? I dont think so .

Why keep a third backup QB that is more of the same as the top two QBs ? Tebow is a change of pace QB that will give you something different that adds to the team. The new QB rules makes it easier to keep a specialty QB.

IMO Weber is the odd man out .Maybe we could take a look at him.:pointlol:

I doubt Tebow will be traded just as I doubted Orton would be traded.

That makes sense, but I think that the issue at hand is how out of control this Elway/Orton/Tebow circus has gotten. They might need to get one of them out of there just for the sake of peace around there- just conjecture on my part. But if Orton is the guy they want and Quinn has played well and so has Weber... and given that Orton refused to even speak with Tebow last year, this year, too, for all I know- and given that Elway really doesn't care for Tebow as a QB... maybe it's in their best interest to move Tebow. So they have a problem- Tebow. We have a problem- Merling. Sounds like a fit to me. And I'm not sure how procedurally the TE Richard Quinn situation plays out (outright waived by Denver? I don't know)- maybe Tebow and Quinn (Richard) for Merling and a 5th. That being said, I wouldn't mind picking up Quinn as a FA and keeping him around for next year if we could do that.

For a guy who had some degree of success at the QB position last season, has talent and a good work ethic, could potentially fill multiple areas of need, has upside and could potentially be had cheap...why the **** not?

Tebow is not good enough to start and considered to be the 4th best QB on the Broncos being outplayed by Weber. Yet there is a belief Tebow would be a good option in the red zone. At best, I can see putting him in on 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 in which he gives the QB sneak option. Could free up a spot by letting Polite go. But to put trust in Tebow that he can put the ball in the end zone from 20 yards or less when the defense is able to pack it in on a regular basis is a little baffling.

This team will go as far as Henne takes them. It appears Henne has taken a big step in leadership this off season. What message would this say to Henne by pulling him when the Dolphins get to the red zone? We want you to lead this team, but don't trust you with the ball in your hands once we get close to the end zone.

Per CK on Twitter, Tebow produced a touchdown on 7 of 10 attempts from the goal line. That gives him the best percentage in the league. What you call belief is apparently fact.

I don't see why anyone would prefer carrying Pat Devlin or Jeron Mastrud to Tim Tebow. Hell, just put Tebow in the roster spot vacated by the hopeful trading or cutting of Phil Merling. I don't have an issue carrying 4 QBs, and if Sparano is really that concerned about our goal line prowess, he shouldn't have a problem with it either.

It's interesting that whatever source this was named the Jets as an interested party. That raises the stakes a little. I'd have naturally expected the Patriots to show up to the party but not the Jets.

The Dolphins could find themselves in the position of either stepping up to the plate and becoming a better team, or watching a division rival get even better. And since most agree that the Pats should be in charge of the division this year, the Jets are the team Miami would be fighting with tooth and nail for a playoff spot.

If Tebow is indeed available , there will be more than a couple of teams interested imo . He has enough tangibles and intangibles that he would command a decent price as compensation. His second team wouldn't have to deal with the payment of a number one draft choice and all that pressure and his character alone raises the price from the bargain basement level being bantered about , imo.

A player as part of the payment makes sense , if indeed Denver would pull that trigger. I still doubt it , but don't believe for a second that he will be given away.

I don't dislike Tebow at all. I really enjoyed watching him play as a Gator. If the coaches don't think Tebow is going to help the team on the field or the controversy that surrounds him is too distracting then giving up any draft pick or even signing him as a UFA is a brainer.
