No, they don't. If you go by last season and combine the overall scores of the 2 starting corners, as I posted earlier in this thread, the top duo is KC, with Brandon Flowers and Brandon Carr, who combine for 27.2. Based on last season, the 2nd best duo for combined overall scores, was Barber and Talib in Tampa Bay, though like slick pointed out, Talib likely will be suspended at least part of 2011. The Dolphins duo has the 3rd best combined scores and both their scores and Tampa Bay's are in my earlier post and if you want to know the truth scroll back to them. So, in simple summation, for the simple folk among us, going by PFF and combining the overall scores for the 2 starters, it goes 1, KC, 2, Tampa, 3, Miami.
Revis shuts down half the field. There is no way those stats are correct. Revis is better than both David & Smith combined. It's nice to know the Jets organization and Rex Ryan are rubbing off the Duhphins. Since when is TS cocky? Since when does Davis come out with statements like such? THese guys all want to play for the Green & White. You and I both know it.
Cromartie is trash. Guy allows over a 60% completion rate when hes not in press coverage. He simply doesnt read routes well when he has to think and not simply react. And we all know about his "tackling ability". LOL, my sister hits harder Seriously? Trolling is against the TOS. Either back your statements up with facts or leave. Revis is excellent. No one is denying that. But Sean Smith is better then Cromartie. And Vontae Davis while not as good as revis is very very good. You wish they wanted to play for the Jets. Bring something of substance to the thread now.....
I sort of hate myself for defending Tony Sparano, but he is 3-1 head-to-head against Rex Ryan's Jets. And as far as the CB duos you listed, I don't think Leigh Bodden even played last year, but I'll give you McCourty is just as good or better than Smith and Davis. I think you could make an argument for Nate Clements and Leon Hall from Cincinnati being there, though Hall and the departed Jonathan Joseph were better. I also think it's been said by several receivers (Moss, Marshall, Andre Johnson) that Revis gets plenty of help; it's just disguised. Any man whose been burned by Ted Ginn, which Revis was, well...I'll just say that Revis in 2009 was better than Revis in 2010.
Revis gets help? That's completely inaccurate. He is the main reason why we bring in these exotic blitzes. Revis and Revis only shadows his receiver all throughout the game. Shutting down Andre Johnson twice in the past two seasons, held Reggie Wayne to one reception, one yard in the playoffs, held Calvin Johnson to one catch for 13 yards. The guy by himself is better than certain CB tandems. It's unbelievable how good this guy is and the fact that certain people here don't give him the credit he deserves although he's known as the best CB in the league throughout the country.
Bodden never played. Kyle Arrington started in his place and the nickel/dimes were Darius Butler and Jonathan Wilhite. It is amazing, the Pats have little continuity at corner from year to year, but still able to compete defensively. That he included Bodden and McCourty just shows what a stupid little Jets troll he is. Those two have never played together yet as the Pats starting corners.
The most jaw-dropping thing about this entire thread is that Darelle Revis clown-troll has 853 posts and isn't banned yet......just sayin'.
Burning isnt even the word....he left him 5 yards behind him along with a buddy or two. Atleast he didnt hold his hamstring in shame i suppose.
Yes, Revis gets help. Everyone CB in the league gets help. I still think he's the best in the NFL, I don't see where I said he wasn't. Nnamdi Asomugha is close, but I think Revis is better, but the man still gets help and some pretty good receivers have said so. It doesn't take anything away from him. But Antonio Cromartie is nowhere near as good as you're making him out to be.
If you look at completion pct allowed on passes in his coverage, Revis led the league with just 38.6% and the passer rating is a very good 78.8. Asante Samuel though has the lowest passer rating on passes into his coverage with a 31.7. He led the league in lowest yards allowed per catch at 7.4 and tied Devin McCourty with most ints by a corner with 7. Revis had 0 ints. Revis had the 3rd highest yds per completion at 16.8, so when he did give up a catch it was generally for good yardage. Samuel was only thrown at 41 times to get those 7 picks and Revis was thrown at 57 times. I'd take Revis if I could have just one of the two because he is 26 and Samuel is 30. But if they were the same age, I'd take Samuel because he can effect an offense in more ways by being the better ball hawk. Revis slumped badly from 2009 to 2010, because while he was still good in 2010, in 2009 he led the league in lowest passer rating 32.3, lowest completion pct 36.9%, most passes defensed with 23 and tied for 2nd in ints by a corner with 6. Samuel and Woodson tied for most picks in 2009 with 9.
VD21.I absolutely loved what he said., and how he said it...ocho on Vontae...lol..child please..Cinco has lost his core strength and explosiveness, I can see it in his body, doesn't have it..Vontae will suffocate him.. What a bad *** we have.. Really like how the coach and players are demonstrating confidence in their team in the face of adversity...very good signs, and being done the right way..our identity is becoming clear.
I still can't put in words how amusing I actually think this is. Davis and Revis should not be mentioned in the same sentence. It's like comparing Brady to Chad Henne. There is no difference. Revis has absolutely no weak spots.
You're right, there is no difference; Davis & Revis are comparable corners and Vontae will display it this year.
Cromartie is a #1 corner and he is head and shoulders above Sean Smith of all people. Smith didn't even start last year!
I'm sorry. Good catch, DR. Grammatically, my post's first comma should be changed to a semicolon to prevent a run on sentence, which means the semicolon after difference should instead be a "period". There should also be a comma preceding the coordinating conjunction, and, to properly separate the two independent clauses.
What he is trying to say is you are a massive troll. Seriously, can someone PLEASE enforce the ****ing T.O.S. around here one damn time.
If I was a MOD his count would have ended with his first troll post, which I am sure would have been his first post.
PHP: Let me get something straight, do the stats say smith was better? They were posted throughout the thread, in addition to what I mentioned about cromartie having a 60% completion against last year. It's not a question of whether we think cromartie was better then smith it's factual that smith was better then cromartie last year according to pro football focus
I hear ya. If I was a MOD, his stay here would have been shorter than Rex Ryan's stay on a treadmill.
