Well, I know whom I think is on the bubble, but would like to hear thoughts/projections on who "you" think is on the bubble or not going to make it?

First real cuts Auq 31, then Sept 4th or so is final cutdown day

I'm wondering if we'll see any roster cuts for other teams wrt O-lineman? probably not, most likely journeymen similar to Columbo.

Nolan Caroll has not shown me much. He gets trucked every time he tries to make a tackle and his coverage skills are average at best. IMO he is on the bubble

Either Wallace or Moore make the team, not both.

Livas will get cut. we need his roster spot for someone else. Other than the TD return in the 1st game, he hasn't done jack.

John Jerry gets cut. He seems lazy and slow.

I think that livas is gone, Carroll has not shown progress from last year. If will allen healthy then I think Carroll is on hot seat. jerry i think is gonna go. wr =marshall, hartline, bess, gates, moore and wallace is my guess yes I am guessine we keep six. I think we should keep devlin as #3 but fear it will be Oconnell. ithink fasano and Epps are kept at te but who knows. the 3rd i dont know. do we need 3? i mean if we had an injury we can pick one of them back up right? It isnt shuler, mastruf etc would all find a job. sorry but they are not superstars. dline I think merling is on bubble, i think spitler is on ropes. thats my thoughts right now

After Marshall, that's a pretty uninspiring WR corps.

No, I watched Bess. And I really like him for what he is, a really, really good slot WR.
But my point is, if Marshall every goes down with an injury and misses games, we have very little else to scare opposing defenses.
Hartline is an average-to-below average #2
Gates, Moore and Wallace are unknown and unproven.
I didn't say they all suck, I just said they were uninspiring. Hopefully someone has a breakout season and becomes a quality #2.

I think that's looking through aqua and orange colored glasses. It may have the potential to be a very good WR corps. but it's based alot on potential.

How many teams have two Marshall caliber players? I think that standard is impractically high.

I never said we need to have 2 Marshall caliber players, did I?. But IMO, our supporting cast (excluding Bess) isn't good enough.
Like I said, hopefully one of the youngsters breaks out.

Agree, Moore and Wallace should be pushing Hartline as he got off to a slow start last yr, we cannot afford that happening this season.

no its not, i think you underrate davone bess completely with your remark and you also understimate hartline´s ability to get open deep and forcing PI calls

I don't think I underrate Bess at all. He is a great slot WR. Obviously most here like Hartline more than I do. Hopefully he makes me eat my words. believe me, I'll be happy to do it.

IMO our WR corp compares well with most of the league. I don't think there are many teams who could scare opponents if their #1 WR went down. Really, the only way would be if we had a second #1, ie. another Marshall.

Perhaps we can trade Allen to the Giants for a RT or RG. Do they have anyone on their roster who can play?

I guess we'll agree to disagree, for now.
IMO, we have a great #1, a very good #3 and everything else is below average or unproven. You obviously disagree.

I was soo happy that Will Allen played well last night, I was concerned that he was 100% in the cut zone, think his presence improves the secondary from gm #1, as he is simply the best blitzing Db I've ever seen.

i like Pads think we'll keep 6 WRs ... with the wildcard being Livas -- IF he makes it as the returner, then Moore is on thin ice.

all of our TEs are uninspiring beyond Fasano ... depending on what happens with the OL - will dictate whether we keep 3 or 4. Clay could effect as well.

I think most of the 1st/2nd string players are good on the depth chart ..... less Hilliard, Polite, Sapp and Culver .....

Assuming Merling is traded, both Rose and Baker should be ok

O'Connell is doubtful, and Devlin would go to the PS

Assuming Allen doesn't: 2 of Sapp, Culver, Carroll, Ness and Restelli will make it

Spitler and IKE are fighting for a spot, but Spears might have too much potential to expose to waivers or PS (much like Moore/Wallace last year)
... Freeny would likely end up on the PS along with Kearse

I think Polite is gone and either Grigsby or Hilliard will stay

The OL is just a crap shoot less: Long, Pouncey, Incognito, and Garner ..... Murtha is probably 'ok' .... and Kopa goes to the PS along with Jones

The #3 Qb is now completely active on Gamedays as the #46, so whomever is our #3 will be dressed out.

This is one of the reasons why I like the idea of Tebow, and just toss Devlin on the practice squad, or whomever the developmental Qb is

Cut down week begins, they waived Rivera and added Alexander:

I think they raised that to 80, but we still have to get down to 53 on 9/3, be interesting to see who makes it to the practice squad.

I think the guys we are going to see go in the near future would be Mastrud, Kopa, Babre, Ness, Pruitt for sure. I'd like to see us keep Devlin over OConnell as the #3, but I doubt that's going to happen. Devlin is probably destined for the PS, I'd hate to loose him though. There's something there worth trying to develop I'd think as a #3 over Oconnell. John Matthews will be gone, but guys like him its easy to look at the roster and say he's out. I think this team will keep Hilliard over Larry Johnson based as a special teams move, unless newly signed safety Gerald Alexander can fill that role on ST and we can keep Johnson for the year until Daniel Thomas grows into the role at RB. I think these are safe starting points for cuts, but there's bound to be alot of easy choices for cuts, and alot of difficult ones too. Livas being a tough one IMO.
