I realize alot more than you may ever know. If it becomes a PR nightmare then great! I'll be glad to see Ross learn the hard way but you won't see me crying about it all over the message boards.

If anyone has a right to complain, it would be the University itself. The fans can show how they feel on that day, at the stadium. I kind of like the idea of going to the game just to mess with them in fun...

I'll believe the boycotts and returning season tickets when it actually happens. for now, IMO, Canes fans are blowing it out of proportion, venting their steam and very little will happen if they go forward with this.

There are TONS and TONS of Gator/Dolphins fans. I hate the Gators more than anyone but it is what it is. A lot of Dade and Broward Counties parents send their kids to UF because it is not as hard of a school to get into and the costs are different as well. They become instant Gators fans because of where their kids are going to school.

It's not contrary to anyones beliefs. I'm glad the radio shows are getting it out there. Gives us Canes fans a chance to buy some tickets and show up with the U all over our bodies....

Until the Dolphins fans know that the team is going to be competitive and compete for the playoffs it won't help much to lower prices. I would hurt them even more because imo the opponents fans will scoop them up even faster...

Well tell me what has this ownership & top brass done in the last year to make me proud to be a DolFan ? Give me the list Ozzy, c'mon give me the list.

I can tell you my list of their blunders & gaffes. They have made just about every screwup they could to alienate and dishearten the most ardent of Dolfans.

    1) selling Jets gear in OUR PRO SHOP !
    2) the Harbaugh disaster (made our ownership look like clowns nationally)
    3) round-table "kiss & make up" with Ross, Ireland & Sparano, where Sparano looked like he wanted to be ANYWHERE but at that meeting
    4) won 1 out of the last 10 home games, and 2 of the last 14.
    5) Getting rid of OUR song, and replacing it with Jimmy Buffett's crap song - throwing away OUR history
    6) Celebrity owners & red carpets - what the frack does that do to help the team on the field ? Its a joke nationally, it makes it look like Ross is more interested in having celebrities as games than the product on the field.
    7) replacing the legendary Jim Mandich, with the horrible Bob Griese. Bob was a hero on the field for me in the 1970's, and he used to be decent as a color announcer, but he is old now and instead of honoring Mandich with an empty chair this year, to fill it with Griese is just a horrible idea.
    8) and latest, insulting TRUE Canes and Seminoles fans by honoring, after just 2 years a college championship of a team that is the biggest rival of the team that is a tenant of your facility. And making, just by chance ? on the very night that Tim effing Tebow is in town, to add to it. It would serve the Dolphins right if Tebow is cut by the Broncos - I would laugh my arse off.

So come up with your list of why I should be happy with Dolphins MANAGEMENT, not the coaches, or players, MANAGEMENT, please.

But a lot and I mean its a LOT of Dolphin season ticket holders are Canes season ticket holders as well. Even if no boycott happens, why, pray tell me why, would you honor one team and anger the fans of another ? You don't think the addition of alcohol and a lot of young men with their testosterone flowing won't get into some UNECESSARY fistacuffs ? Its bound to happen......horrible idea. Hurricane & Seminole fans booing and Gator fans cheering, that will lead to shouting and then add the alcohol, and you have fights that shouldn't ever have been in the 1st place, its just a HORRIBLE idea.

Now some Hurricane fans are talking about flying a banner over the stadium.....I hope it happens.

You don't want trouble to break out but you support a banner that could further stir up the stuff?
    That makes no sense.

I hope it happens to show Dolphins management they were STUPID to do this. They can stop all of this by announcing that Tim Tebow Day is cancelled - and make no doubts this is clearly done to honor Tim effing Tebow - a player on another team !!!! What organization in the NFL does that ???????????

Let me come up with a short list for you but let it be known that I could care less why you've become such a disgruntled fan.

    This is the short list!

The Miami Dolphins are my favorite team! They do not always please me but I'll be damned if I'm going to run around in a rage to let everyone know how I feel about them. Who in the heck are you to say they should have left Mandich's seat open this season? Just because you think it is right does not make it so and I'm willing to bet that Mandich himself would tell you to pipe down! Mandich was just about as old as Griese, and he also was starting to make mistakes which comes with AGE. Just like Madden.

I could care less if they bring in 50 celeb owners.
I like them selling Jets gear at the Stadium because it gives me something to blow my nose in.
I'm glad they missed out on Harbaugh.
I'm glad they held a round table. Hope there was food too.

And to top it off you sit there and ridicule them for having a Gator day in the Canes rented home but you have the nerve to add that its an insult to true Canes and Seminole fans?????????????????????

You realize what you just did with that right?

"We don't attend the games, but I'll be dammed!! if there will be a Gators promo in the stadium I rarely go to...

I am a fan of watching college football, but not any particular team. I really don't see the big deal, and I don't need the Sun-Sentinel editorializing it in a headline as an "embarrassment" when there are plenty of people like I who could really care less. Not to be mean or anything, but I don't care about "honoring" the mini-cheerleaders or mini-football players at half times either. This, however, does not mean that it should not occur. Just sayin' :)

Whoa now, UF isn't UCF. I'm not sure that Miami is harder to get into but if it is it would be because Miami is a private school.

Not trying to start another stupid arguement.

Anyway, it is a wierd situation but I will be rooting for Tebow, Pouncey, Meyer, and the championship but I also want my fins to just win a damn game.

SIGH.......can't you understand it doesn't make sense business wise to p.o ANY of your fans, so you just leave the whole mess alone !!! DOH ! If the Gators are the majority of the fans its still STUPID to piss off the Canes fans who might be 20% or 30%....DOH ! That is just stupid business, and I dare you to tear that logic apart. But I am sure you will try.....

Either the Dolphins front office is just too dumb to have thought about this or they just don't care. If its the latter they can kiss at least a few thousand more season ticket holders away next year. For their sake, I hope that more Gator fans do buy them, because if the bottom line is a net loss of season ticket holders, then someone in the marketing dept. should lose their job, and whoever signed off on this (that appears to be Mike Dee at this point) is just blind to the feelings of a good number of your fans - you really don't have their pulse and its getting more apparent they don't - he also should pay with his job.

And really, since Mike Dee has been here, what has he done ? He tried to blackmail the county government into paying for improvements on a privately owned stadium, by saying the stadium won't get more Super Bowls (probably right). That is a privately owned stadium, and in these days of conservative fiscal politics, its really interesting that the Dolphins, would ask for "corporate welfare" while we have nearly 15% unemployment in Miami, and nearly 10% in Ft Lauderdale, and cutting back in school teachers, fire & police protection, etc. I personally found that extremely galling.

He's introduced, celebrity carpets, gotten rid of OUR traditional TD song, replaced it with a song not many like, and now this latest boondoggle. If the Dolphins want to fill the seats for the Dolphins games, lower the ticket prices for one - the economy in Miami / So Fla is one of the worst in the country.

No they could make me happy, by all of them resigning and then we go get Bill Cowher and finally become a real NFL franchise again.

Ummmm can't you understand or maybe you might actually want to read my comments that said it is a stupid idea. BUT you take things to the extreme because you no likey the organization anymore..

The logic to them is to sell more tickets when the sales are down. But if the team actually starts winning it wont matter one bit because for every Canes, Noles, or Gator fan that refuses to buy a ticket, there will be a Dolphins fan in waiting to scoop them up.

I heard they actually asked the University of Miami (FL) if they wanted to do a 10 yr anniversary commemorative thing like they're doing with the University of Florida the the Hurricanes turned them down.

If true, then there is even less ot complain about by Hurricane fans.

For whatever reason, it seems like there's always been a disconnect between the Canes and Dolphins, even though they've shared two stadiums. It's like the two have been in competition. Kinda weird. Maybe I'm off base but that's always how I've seen it.

The University wanted to have their own celebration to commemorate the 2001 and 1991 teams. I don't see why the Dolphins had to then go to the UF Gators to celebrate a team that won only two years ago, makes zero sense. A team that didn't even go undefeated! It didn't feature a record breaking offense with a novel philosophy, nor did it have an all-time defense. This farce won't sell that many more tickets. It won't actually make a dent in the sales numbers. In addition, you've gone and pissed off a large number of your fan base.

If they wanted to celebrate a team, any team, after the University of Miami said no, they should've spoken to Mario Cristobal and Pete Garcia @ FIU and celebrated their Sun Belt Conference Championship and their bowl victory. The overwhelming majority of FIU students and alums are Dolphins fans by a huge margin. They could've partnered with FIU and gotten their student gov't involved. It could've been a huge event celebrating an actual Miami-based organization. Everyone can get behind the Dolphins and the FIU Golden Panthers having a relationship. Win-win.

It wasn't that bad until Don Shula took a bad dislike to Jimmy Johnson in the mid-1980's. From then on to about 1992 it was sort of a "we choose to ignore each other" thing. It grew to a crescendo in 1994 when Johnson, retired from the Cowboys and was on FOX started criticizing Shula on TV. Then it was all out war between them, with Johnson gunning for Shula's job.

If they could sell out the stadium we wouldn't even be having this conversation. I don't think this is a big deal but what's most concerning to me is that they are having to go to these lengths to attempt to sell tickets. One of the [Miami Herald I believe] writers posted an old article he wrote after the Marlins inaugural season had concluded in 1992. One of the themes of his article was how much the Dolphins dominated south Florida [and really Florida in general at the time] sports. How things change in 20 years. I know this might sound crazy but is there any chance Ross considers moving the team if these ticket sales continue to be a problem?
