I usually would never do this and I didn't see a thread for this yet, but who is watching the game? It brings joy to my heart to watch the Jets fail and especially Sanchez. They are not disappointing me yet!

For those who aren't watching, so far Sanchez is 3/9 with 12 yards and a fumble which they lost. The fumble was because he lost control of the ball on a swing pass and it just dropped to the floor!

Yea yea yea, "its just preseason"...They still are looking like complete **** right now and our team looks phenomenally better.

I hate to do this, but in Sanchez'(s?) defense their offense is looking similar to ours last year where they are doing a ton of play actions on third and long with only one route! It makes me feel so excited that we moved on from Henning and the Jets are staying the same path!!

Also, It seems to be getting a little heated between Sanchez and Plaxico. Sanchez threw completely behind him 2 or 3 times and Plaxico is giving him really dirty looks. If they don't get a connection going into the season....BIG TROUBLE.

They didn't look good...defense was getting gashed but did tighten in the red zone..they look like they have some cohesion issues that might make them vulnerabie early.

Cromartie was looking mighty suspect as well. But I think everyone already knew Sanchez and Cromartie blow.

I still am wondering how that team got better? especially on offense......Plax is a far less inferior option than Edwards....Greene I think will be good, LT is going to suck watch, remember his FAST start last year, he carried some ballgames for them....

    CANT WAIT.....

Skill set wise, yeah I think Manning is better, Brady/Manning...is so much like Marino/Montana.....

I think I am taking Brady, the system, and BB if I need a win though....Manning isnt bulletproof anymore, nor was he ever.....

Marino and Montana weren't even close skill set wise. The only similarities between those two was accuracy (Montana was slightly better). Montana played in a better system. If Marino had been drafted by the 49ers he too would have multiple Super Bowls.

Brady plays in the most QB friendly system I have ever seen. I too would choose the system over Manning, but I'd choose Manning and that system over Brady and that system. If Manning had been drafted by the Pats Manning would have 5 Super Bowls by now. If Brady had been drafted by the Colts Brady would have 0 Super Bowls.

Not really. I mean, of course I can't "prove" what I wrote, but I can sure as hell make a really good case for it.

All you would have to do is look at the teams for each QB I mentioned. Look at all the factors. Defense, rushing, time period played, passing, etc. etc. etc.

If you were to compile all of those things, as I have, you'd see that Montana and Brady were both extremely lucky QB's. Don't get me wrong, both are good, however neither one has the skill set of Marino or Manning. Not even close. The Dolphins and Colts lived and died based off of Marino's and Manning's performance. When either have/had an average or below average game they would typically lose. However, when Montana or Brady have/had average or below average games their teams still typically win/won.

    Let's put it this way.

If Montana's 49ers had never won a Super Bowl would he be in the HoF?

If Brady's Pats had never won a Super Bowl would he make the HoF based off of his career right now?

Ask the same question in regards to Mannning and Marino. (We already know the answer for Marino ;) )

What we see is what I like to call the "Namath Affect". Now, Montana and Brady are a lot better than Namath, but if not for the Jets winning the Super Bowl Namath doesn't get in. QB's get into the Hall based off of two different stats. Championships (TEAM accomplishments) and personal accomplishments. The latter of which is how 99% of all the other HoF'ers got in, but that's not the case with QB's.

Again, you can't count TEAM stats (wins etc) and contribute them to INDIVIDUAL player stats. All of these little Brady stats/facts are nice, but Brady holds ONE real NFL QB passing recordand it took him playing every minute of every game to do it when Manning threw 1 less TD in 2 less games and Marino threw 2 less in a time when the WR and QB's could be raped.

The standard for career QB records has always been:

    Attempts
    Completions
    Yards
    TD's
    INT's

Now, where does Brady rank on those? ;)

a completion isn't an individual stat, nor is a touchdown. yards aren't even, it requires another person, if you want to get technical.

regardless if he is part of a system, you still have to execute.

that's like saying a pitcher in baseball doesn't have individual stats like wins and loses. Or a goalie in hockey.

regardless, his NFL peers rate him number one, analysts rate him very high, high among fantasy owners, one of the highest paid players in the league, he's doing something right.

Number one against whom? And analysts and "peers" once said Aikman was number one etc etc.

Let's ask the 20 living HoF QB's shall we?

"Who would you pick, Brady or Manning?"

    4 refused to answer.

    13 picked Manning
    2 Picked Brady (Elway, Bradshaw)
Montana chose Brady first half and Manning second half.

And one Hall of Fame QB pointed out the importance of Belichick to Brady’s success, "when Brady went down, Belichick had Matt Cassel, who hadn’t started at QB since high school, and he went 11-5."

Matt Cassell has had similar stats since he went to KC, not exact, but close. I don't think that really matters.

    the peers play against him.

i never discounted peyton manning as hall of fame material.

but i'll take the vote of 1700 players plus coaches over 20 hall of famers.

i mean, want does it matter? the majority of people think he's a great quarterback, you don't like him, so what?

Hahaha, i just realized that article was from 11/15/2009. almost two years ago, i bet that would have changed by now with the first ever unanimous (undeserved cause marinephinfan says it is) mvp.

plus the other four refused to these grounds.
