Who'd have thought, a Belicheck coached disciple would play dirty?

He also seems like an idiot. You can't apply pressure to a sore hammy to inflict more pain. It is when you extend a hammy that the pain or discomfort happens. F$%k man, when I had the injury, I'd punch and slap my hammy to try and loosen it up.

The fact that it happens doesn't mean it should. Its one thing to do whatever you can to get the ball, its another thing entirely to purposely try to end someone's season.

Maybe guys should have started punching his temples and head, and pushing his eyes in piles because of the stroke he had? What a ****ing tool.

Exactly, this happens all the time at every level of the game. Always has, always will.

Give this book a read if you really want to know about some of the stuff that goes on in piles, or behind the scenes on the field. The things that nobody knows about in the stands or while watching at home. It's a game within the game really. This book was a great read though.

IMO it's classless behavior. It doesn't matter that it happens elsewhere in the league or that it probably happens on the Phins. The fact that other people are also classless doesn't negate that if TB did that he would be behaving in a classless manner.

Some of the biggest names? Could that include Marino or Szonka or any other phin?

Steve Young and hall of fame? Better take it away now, he head hunted people!

    Intentionally breaking fingers by Romanowski?

Stop whining about it. Its not your finger, your thigh or whatever. Its part of the game, if you don't like it, don't watch it! I don't like Nascar but I don't watch and it and complain about all the left turns.

Read the book in the link I posted earlier in the thread... Even if you exclude Romanowski from this because he was a "juicer" or "Crazy"... theres numerous other instances in the book from other legendary players of this game. Regardless of whether you like it or not, it happens all the time. Non stop, even today. Players are still "headhunted" regularly, and paybacks for dirty things like this, are often given out through the course of games in piles, or even during other plays in the game. Chances are, when you see a guy get layed out by a cheapshot, a QB specifically, his OL is taking out revenge on that defensive player somewhere in the course of the game. It is what it is. It's really a great read, I'd suggest everyone read it. Stuff like this happens all Sunday, every Sunday.

Retaliation is different. That's self-policing and it's the opposite of a culture that is as permissive as 'anything goes'. That was certainly part of the NFL's old time reputation, but that has been cleaned up quite a bit. The unwritten rules that the legendary players played under bears little resemblance to what is considered acceptable now.
