I read this article and laughed. I honestly had to look up the schedule and see whether you guys were home or not, just to confirm it.

At least you guys got the Heat and LeChoke.

All of our team captains on Monday should find some of that dirt infield, kneel down and place it in their hand before the start of the game, say a little prayer (or whatever floats your boat).

It's sad that we don't have a home field advantage. He isn't disrespecting anyone, and maybe for once it would be nice for our fan base to actually support this freaking team, they haven't played a game yet and people are mad. It's a new year anything can happen and this is the coach and players we have. Support them and stop complaining it is what it is.

I guess you don't go to Jet home games where their are at least 15,000 Fin fans for every game.

yessir..I think he knows that its very difficult to draw energy from the crowd in that place, so he has put a new plan into its place...self motivation and anger...I said last year he needed to find an alternative and damn it, I think what he's doing is very smart..

I couldn't agree with you more, DJ. The modern fan seems just lazy & likes to be pampered. The Old Orange Bowl, may have been a pitt, but it was our pitt and fans knew to get there early (I always was there when they opened the gates (11:30am for 1pm games and 2:30pm for 4pm games and 7:30pm for MNF). Watching stretching & pre-game practice always gave you clues as to who was and wasn't going to be playing that day. Then there was always visiting with your fellow season ticket holders before the game, asking what happened since the last game, how their wives & kids and your wife & kids were doing, what kind of snacks did everyone bring etc etc etc. Now it seems like they want to wait around on the concorses before the game and saunter out just as the kickoff is going on, and maybe get to their seats by the time the 1st drive is punting or scoring.

When was this that you lived here ? Back in the 1970's or early 1980's ? Or after many of the real Dolfans started moving away or dying out ? If you say the 1990's or later, you're a non-qualifier to be sitting in judgement. We were already infested by Jets & Pats fans by then.

No but I could see where the Dolphins end up in San Diego.......the Chargers want a new stadium, and LA opens one. After a few years SD builds a new stadium, and invites the Dolphins (or Jags) to their new digs. Miami taxpayers refuse to pay for Ross' new playpen, and he moves the team, based squarely on $$$. If the Jags haven't moved by that time, its possible they could relocate to Miami.

Is it likely, probably about a 5% chance, but 10 years had you told me the Dolphins would ever move I would have thought that was outrageous too. Not so much anymore. The War with the Fans that the Dolphins are waging right now, is killing their fanbase. Eventually it will become Marlins'esque or Panthers'esque if they continue down the path they are headed.

Also this perception that we are overrun by NY'ers and NE'ers in Miami-Dade County is a farce. It may still be somewhat true in Broward & Palm Beach but lets get real, Miami-Dade is almost 70% Hispanic now, with zero (real) ties to NY or NE. They may associate (just my opinion) with NY like many people from foriegn countries which most of their exposure to American culture before they came here is painted by something from NY, hence they tie to that city and its teams, more than South Fla before they come here. In the case of the Marlins I almost certain that is the case.

Please tell me you're kidding. Out of the entire stadium, I would say there's only about 5,000 Dolphin fans. However, whenever we play at Miami, I honestly feel like their are more Jets fans than Dolphins fans. I heard the JETS chant through the TV last year after we beat you guys in MIAMI.

People HAVE been supporting them for years, beyond what is reasonably acceptable, and yet those loyal fans have but 1 playoff appearance that their team has given them. If the Dolphins were a restaurant, it would have closed years ago.

There are teams that have been much worse on the field and still maintain more fan support.

Pittsburgh, Cleveland & Green Bay are exceptions. Their teams could go out there with old nuns and still have sellouts. But almost every other city has had trouble filling the stands when the team hasn't won in a while. I remember games against the Jets when even Marino wouldn't sell out Giants stadium for a Jets game. And plenty of games in Barffalo, New England, Tampa, Houston (one reason they moved to Tennessee) etc when their crowds were anything but intimidating. The last few years (including last year) Oakland has been about the worst in the league in attendance. 20 years ago, hell even 10 years ago, if you had told me there would be a time when the Oakland Raiders would be tarponing off sections of their seats in the upper tier of their stadium I would have thought you crazy. But it started happening last year.

I really don't see it as out of the realm of possibility the Phins end up in LA. Our owner LOVES rubbing elbow with celebs. Our stadium is crap and the fan base is waning. The Dolphins aren't getting a new stadium any time soon......it could easily happen. Especially if the put 2 teams in LA.
