I might think it were absurd if it weren't a RB, who was over 30, who had character issues in the past, and who hadn't seen even 200 carries the past two years that we are talking about.

And no I don't think they meant to do that all along, but I certainly believe that was at least part of their train of thought when they cut him initially.

I acutally think you do, and a lot of team do. Well with the running back position.

Miami had 6 runningbacks on their team, two got hurt. So they signed a guy who they cut. In fact it does show forsight since he was working out with the team and knows the offense.

I don't see it as being the wrong choice nor do I think you can make a decision on that yet. He didn't look bad in preseason. Are you just basing your opinion of him on the fact that he's been out of the game?

No, I despised Wanny just like everyone else, and gave him zero passes, so you can take your guess and shove it.
I'm just not overreacting to every single decision made by the regime. You guys are so damn jaded vs the regime (which is your choice and it's fine) that you overreact to every single thing that goes on, every decision is "WTF are these guys doing, OMG, they are the worst in the league". Your rants used to bring value to the discussion, not so much anymore.

I see absolutely no big deal with resigning LJ. This regime wanted and needed a new RB corps. I personally don't miss Ronnie or Ricky. Ricky is good for a game or two before his old body starts breaking down and Ronnie spends too much time dancing in the backfield. Goodbye and Good riddance.
The regime wanted more speed, so they went out and got Bush. IF they use him correctly, he's a good pickup.
i have no problem with D Thomas.
the only thing I can agree on is that we should have brought in a good free agent and cut Hilliard. Then LJ would have been a luxury #4 RB.

Fans are going to be even more angry if LJ sucks and Thomas is hurt for a long period of time after they didn't go after Ricky. Better hope LJ can play well.

You can't go with one Running Back like Bush.

How many of those guys were familiar with our offense and could backup Reggie Bush without getting Chad Henne killed on a blitz pickup call?

And don't you think that (even disregarding Ricky's dumbass comments about Tony) the regime considered that a really old Ricky was also a liability w.r.t. health? Ricky clearly showed he was wearing down when we had to depend upon him when the other RBs got injured.

Even if you think a guy on the lists provided was better than LJ (even though each one was less accomplished in their careers), how much better do you think some of those guys are? A couple of percentage points? Is it really a significant amount that anyone can say without a doubt the FO made the wrong call to the point they are inept? I don't think so.

Well I for one am very pleased with this move. The point is that we currently have a good mix of thunder and lightning; old blood and new blood in our RB core. Plus, I feel more comfortable protecting a lead with LJ's savvy in the mix.

If Daniel Thomas & Charles Clay miss Monday Night, then LJ could see himself getting significant carries. And if LJ does well? Daniel Thomas could see himself losing playing time quickly and falling further on the depth chart.

    WOW

Thomas injured now there's a totally unexpected, unpredictable, unseen, unimagined and unprepared situation.....holy crap we have to scramble for a another RB..............do some of you see a pattern here or a great excuse for Henne if he doesn't do well ? (Not Henne fault he has no running game what do you expect ) and actually that is somewhat of a ligit excuse I hate to say.

Good thing Jeff "Never caught off guard" Ireland has got our RB position covered with a great dependable cheap at the end of his career RB. I was getting worried there for a moment.....Got to love our FO..........:pointlol:

That's totally the exact point. As a veteran, LJ's contract would be fully guaranteed if he were on the roster for week 1. I anticipated they
already planned to bring LJ back after week 1, but the Thomas injury forced them to do it early.

Really who scrambled for a running back. They just signed the guy back they had in camp.
Not like Thomas was put on IR.

LJ gives me somebody to root for. Similar situation to Pennington when he came over here. When Pennington got 11 wins and ripped the JEST!!! a new orifice on the way to winning the division, it was one of the happiest days of my life as a Dolphins fan. Now, if Larry regains even a good part of his form from when he was with the Chiefs, for whatever reason, and he and Reggie become a productive, complimentary pair of backs à la what Ricky and Ronnie could have been, the incidence of hangovers at my place will increase dramatically, Sparano and Ireland's jobs will be safe, the recession will end, and all will be right in the universe again. Why not root for this? There will be plenty of time to *****.

Geez, the guy has a legitimate injury and he's the second coming of Yatil Green ?? One injury leads you to believe this ?? I don't get it...
What do we have in Thomas is a question that will be answered, but there is no way we would know that just yet anyway...

I guess you have not been reading about the fact he is slow to pick up the offense???? No the injury did not lead me to believe that, it was a question?

My biggest complaint is we are going to sign a guy named Johnson, I would prefer he is related to Gunner's Mate 3rd Class Lance Johnson.[IMG]

Feinga was not a favorite of mine earlier in training camp. I saw him as just a guard, and therefore not versatile enough to be a viable backup. He showed in the Dallas game though, that he can handle LT, better than Jerry, Cook, and probably Garner. So, I do not see the reason for he being waived, rather than Baby J, unless they just think the latter has some untapped upside that hasn't emerged yet.

I think you should quit your job and join the service Pete, preferably Navy or Air Force. No need to make yourself cannon fodder. You just need to learn to cuss, and learn a lot of new cuss words and phrases and how to interject them into your everyday vernacular so you sound like a real tough guy. You don't need to be one, just need to sound like one. You can do this just fine on board ship on at an air base. Not so many bullets whizzing past your skull that way too. Then you get out, start flying off with some juicy cuss words and learn to type them too, people are gonna be thinking: "don't mess with that Pete dude. I think he is a real bad ***". Psywar ops, romeo foxtrot, shall we dance. Make it loud. While your at it, load your I Pod with some Wagner, take out all that modern techo and pop crap.

"We'll come in low out of the rising sun, and about a mile out I put on the music."

    "Music?"

"Yeah, I use Wagner. Scares hell out of the slopes. My boys love it!"

Not necessarily. Perhaps we have a substantial lead and the coaches would rather use Johnson than the other backs to burn clock. Another possibility is he is just getting 4-5 yards a carry, so they keep feeding him.

Feinga has psquad time left, and we just released Bracket with a injury settlement, they can retain Feinga if they so choose..

I do find the LJ controversy sort of...funny? misplaced? He was waived and brought back when DT tweaked a hammy, why would that cause an issue?
