Who will have the better year in 2011?

    1) Most games started?
    2) Most Yards/game?
    3) Most TDs/game?
    4) Fewest interecptions/game?

    My predicitions.
    1) Henne. With Tebow and Quinn behind him and only one year left on his contract (don't know if that is still true) Orton is the one with the big hook waiting to yank him off stage.
    2) Orton. I can't see Sparano going pass wacky like McDaniels.
    3) Henne. Daboll seems to have figured out how to get Henne's long ball to work. Miami's defence will mean Henne should have shorter fields to work with.
    4) Orton. But not by a huge margin. Henne was victimised by tip balls being caught and receivers batting the ball directly to DBs last year.

I think Henne has a good chance to work a Brian Griese kind of year, a lot of good smart work sprinkled with a couple of huge plays.

Who cares about Orton ?? I only care how Henne does...Orton should not be anyone's radar...it's a waste of time, imo....

A lot of people were calling for us to make a trade for Orton.

Fun stuff, but this is a long season, are you just looking for predictions?

    If so in January:

    Orton: 63% completions, 20 Td's, 10 int's 3,700 yds

    Henne, 59% completions, 24 Td's 15 int's, 3900 yds

And I do think Sparano is going to go pass happy, the bridge back to a power running game was burned.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Henne throw the ball 575-600 times this year. A lot of swing passes and use the spread offense to hit the RBs 4-5 yards down the field.

Preseason showed Miami probably couldn't establish the power run game if wanted to, at least against the better defenses. Would be looking at a lot of 3 and outs.

Why would a progressed Henne throw 59% completions when that, along with yards and YPA, are the three things he has actually improved on every year?

I agree. It's a worthless comparison anyways. Different teams, different opponents. Who's to say the numbers Orton puts up in Denver are close to what he could have done here. Our schedule is more difficult, so I'd expect his numbers there to be better. I just dont see the point in this.

Because this yr he will be throwing routes with lower completion percentages but higher impact.

Those 20-40 yd shots down field are not completed at his usual 60% clip.

The counter balance is maybe Rosario and Bush catch 90 passes between them, adding Rosario means Fasano basically becomes a 3rd Tackle.

Orton gets 3/4 with Henne getting the TDs.
And BTW, McDaniels isn't the coach, he's now OC in St Loius

Since Orton isn't here. I really don't care what he does in Denver, My prediction for Henne as the starting QB. He will play better this year than he has the last two season. This still won't be enough of an improvement and the Dolphins will start out 1-4. When they play their sixth game of the season against Denver, there is a good chance that neither Henne or Orton will be the starting QB's. I suspect Orton will be benched because the Broncos will be last in the AFC-West and will be more concerned with getting Luck with the first pick in the draft than in winning many games this season.
John Elway isn't worried about this season. He is only concerned with somehow getting Luck in the 2012 draft. Finishing with the worst record in the NFL will assure the Broncos the top pick in the draft.

Sparano will start Moore against the Broncos because after starting out 1-4, He will figure the only chance to keep his job is to give up on the Henne experiment and go with the only other QB on the roster who has started an NFL football game. This will also prove to be a failure and the Dolphins will once again miss the playoffs and end up with another mediocre record. Next year there will be a new GM, Head Coach, and QB of the future on the Dolphins.

I'm not seeing it. while I can also see us going 1-4, I don't see Sparano benching Henne unless Henne is the direct cause of our 1-4 record. We could be 1-4 easily because of our Oline, running game or even (hopefully not) our pass defense.

Exactly, that ship has sailed, we have Henne, he is the only concern of ours now.

But if we went 1-4 and the Broncs went 1-4 who would be more likely to get pulled - Orton or Henne?

What does McDaniels have to do with what Orton does this season?
