Channing Crowder called Reggie Bush a "glorified receiver" on his WQAM radio show. Also predicts a winning season for the Phins. Details on Barry Jackson's blog: http://miamiherald.typepad.com/sports-buzz/2011/09/saturday-update-marlins-prospects-crowder-on-fins-and-other-notes.html
I've got high hopes for Bush - I really believe he's going to be a difference maker for us this year. Can't tell if that's just the homer in me though
the bum gets cut and still cant stfu. god i hate that pos. you were a bum impersonating an ILB Channing. probably couldnt cover my neighbour.
Seriously, if Crowder was a good middle linebacker he could talk. But he was such a ****ing overrated waste of space. Never dominated, never took over a game, couldnt cover a 90 year old in a hover round. But he talked.....and talked.....and talked........so he was overrated. He's garbage.
Right...because the Miami defense was much better when he wasn't in the game the past few years.
He was an above average linebacker... you're talking like he was the worst linebacker to put on a Dolphins uniform. Seriously, who cares? Being someone involved in the radio business, I think you of all people would understand that. Crowder talks because people listen... whether they admit to it or not, whether they agree with what he says or not... they will still listen.
Well to be fair, the expanded quote from Crowder was: "In my career, I've watched many a running backs run past me and he [Bush] is no running back" When asked to explain: "I've failed to tackle many runningbacks in my career, and Reggie Bush was not one I would worry about having to tackle because a Corner would be assigned to him"
And the problem is...? So what, this idea that Bush is supposed to be a 200 carry back is kinda dumb imo, that is what DT or LJ is here for, Rb is Mr Outside to LJ's or DT's Mr Inside. Hmm, now if we have 2 Rb's in the backfield, RB and say DT, or LJ, both can block really well, that gives the offense some options.
Crowder's not wrong. Bush does his damage as a receiver, not as a rusher. He certainly won't be an interior runner in this division. He is what he is. Use him correctly.
I never said he's doing it wrong as a radio personality. He's getting ratings, and thats his job. But the fact is, he is a former player, former as in, last year he played, so for him to throw someone out, especially someone on his former team, he deserves to be judged as well.
He was also asked about the Linebackers and the person said the Dolphins think they've upgraded with Burnett and Crowder snapped "DID THEY"? I was laughing pretty good...
Honestly I can see Channing saying that while he was still on the team. Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
The irony is that RBs who are glorified receivers gave Crowder the most trouble. Good against the run, but sucked in pass coverage.
Exactly!!! Channing wants to become the Howard Stern of sports radio, and it isn't a bad idea. A niche just begging to be filled and who better than Channing. With Howard, the people who love him, listen because they want to see what he says next. The people who hate him listen for the very same reason...just getting more fuel to hate him more. I can see it being the same for Channing in sports radio. I picture Channing getting his own nationally syndicated radio show, and forming his own sports world version of The Wack Pack, made up of misfits from all areas of sports. I doubt Channing will get as extreme as Howard though. No asking a couple of WNBA stars if they'll kiss each other, so he can watch, things like that.
Clown in body, mind, and game.. Nice 2 forced fumbles your whole career buddy..he's been holding this defense back for years.
I liked Channing C Deej, I saw him as a extremely good role playing ILB, a solid 2 down ILB, that said imo your ILB's need to set the tone on defense and I just do not see a jokester doing that for us, to many times I've watched him pass on the opportunity to set the tone by declining dealing with situations. It's all fine to be super smart, but you have to be mean, nasty, and aggressive, that is the one thing I think Scott does for the Jest, imo he is a bit above average ILB but he knows how to make the guys around him play tougher through his actions, Crowder never did that for us imo.
I don't think he was a hard worker Pod..never did..didn't have the game to be such a talker..no rpm's at impact, soft tackler, weak core, not flexible..Don't believe he trained diligent enough in the offseason to get the best out of that body.jmo..
Talking Crowder..... all motor zero awareness. Never really thought of Crowder as soft tackler really at all.
he generated no explosion at impact, therefore jarring two balls loose over his career, not good at the point of attack, and from studying his game for years, his body was a weak body.
I don't get the negativity. Because he's right and you don't want to hear it? Realize that we're all saying similar things. Nobody believes he's some workhorse back or this tough inside runner. He is what he is and used correctly, he will help us greatly. If you object to Crowder being critical because he played for the team, perhaps you should never say a word because you didn't. If he hasn't earned the right, you certainly haven't. And his opinion is disqualified because he wasn't Ray Lewis? You're a guy in a message board! Crowder also said we'd go 10-6. *******. - sent from my EVO 3D via Tapatalk -
Crowder wasn't mean about it, in fact how he said it is kind of funny and really a good example of self deprecating humor. He took a dig at Bush, but also a pretty good shot as himself too.
Crowder may not have been a great LB, but when it comes to his assessment of Bush, he is 100% correct. While Bush may be able to gain yardage as a running back behind a great offensive line. The Dolphins are far from a team with even a good offensive line. Bush is much better catching the ball out of the backfield, and on kick returns. He also is not built to take the constant pounding required to be a starting running back in the NFL. If Sparano and Daboll decide to use him as their primary running back this season. I don't see him lasting half the season. While many on here are upset with Crowder for stating the truth about Bush. I find it amusing that these same individuals don't mention his prediction that the Dolphins would go 10-6 this season. While I personally agree with his view of Bush. I think his prediction of 10 wins by Miami is about 4-5 more wins more than they will actually have this season.
Actually I'm happy for Chowder. He finally has a legitimate platform to put his best attribute to use.
