To me that was the most impressive and unexpected development in his game tonight, the way he dealt with the unrelenting pass rush and made something out of nothing with his legs, never expected to see that out of his game. Who ever thought Henne and 59 yards rushing and a TD would compete in the same sentence.

I was impressed with Henne's play and effort tonight. He made a few mistakes, but also made big plays and converted a few times with his rushing. The D got completely blown out and outplayed tonight. Marshall also had some key drops that could have made a difference here.

I hope they are ready for the Texans

It was nice to see all the throws down the field, my gosh. That was exciting.

It was exciting to choose to get the ball 1st and then go down and score 7 points.

The GL plays and communication need to be a little crisper. But, I'll say this, all of those players were tired, but Chad Henne had to be exhausted too. He was running, moving in the pocket, throwing the ball 50 times, I'm sure that had some effect on some of those throws at the GL.

Henne was the lone bright spot, I mean that's really the bottom line. I've expressed doubts about Henne but he had a good night. Coaching was terrible. Ross should have taken care of business last January. Rotten tuna should have hired Rex Ryan or John Harbaugh instead of his buddy.

Brady was just on fire. The no huddle killed our D, the Pats mastered that perfectly tonight. No D could stop what Brady did tonight.

Henne played an outstanding game. I think that should silence the doubters for at least a week. I figured we would be able to move the ball and score on the Pats, and I had no doubt Henne was a different QB. I wasn't surprised at all. That's about what I expected out of him. He's turned into a solid NFL QB, and he still has room to grow.

Any chance clay is the missing goal line piece? That's a lot to lay on him, but something has to work right?

That's really what I have been trying to say in this thread, you put it much better and more simply lol. If he maintains this level of play he is clearly a guy who belongs and can give a team W's. He can still morph and grow into a QB who can get those W's even when the rest of the team plays poorly.

They really missed Daniel Thomas and Charles Clay, IMHO. Two physical runners when we had zero tonight. I have no idea why they didn't try Larry Johnson at the goal line at least once. I'd at least have taken one shot with him.

We'll see on Henne. Not the first time he's had a great game. Let's see how he comes out the next few weeks and we'll go from there.

Im not even angry after this game.

    I cant be.

    Why?

Cause it looked like for the first time SINCE I WAS 10 years old, the Dolphins QB Carousel ended.

Really? Are you serious? Are you even paying attention to what you're saying? Let's have a review, shall we?

GB v NO: Aaron Rodgers; 27/35, 312 yds, 3TDs (Brees for that matter on the losing end...32/49 419 yds 3TDs)
    Phi v STL: Vick; 14/32, 187 yds, 2 TDs
    Buf v KC: Fitzpatrick; 17/25, 208 yds, 4TD's
    Chi v Atl: Cutler; 22/32, 312 yds, 2TD's, 1 Int
    Det v TB: Stafford; 24/33, 305 yds, 3 TDs, 1 Int
    Jax v Tenn: McCown; 17/24, 175, 0 TD
    Cin v Cle: Gradkowski; 5/12, 92 yds, 1 TD
    Bal v Pitt: Flacco; 17/29, 224 yds, 3TDs
    Hou v Ind: Schaub; 17/24, 220 yds, 1TD, 2 Int
    Wash v NYG: Grossman; 21/34, 305 yds, 2TDs
    SD v Minn: Rivers; 33/48, 335 yds, 2 TDs
AZ v Car: Kolb; 18/27, 309 yds, 2TDs (And lets no forget Cam Newton; 24/37, 422 yds, 2TDs, 1 Int, 1 rush TD)
    SF v Sea: Smith; 15/20, 124 yds, 1TD
    NYJ v Dal: Sanchez; 26/44, 335 yds, 2 TD, 1 Int

See any of those winning QB's whose numbers surpass Henne's? I surely don't and there are some bonafide elite QB's in that list above.

As Fin13 said above, Henne didn't lose that game...the defense did. The defense was the one that gave up 38 points, not Henne. Henne played his *** off and proved he has what it takes to be a winning starting QB in the NFL.

Thats ****ing bull****. Are you telling me that Vontae cant help but get burned by a nobody? That everyone cant help but miss tackles? That its not the Defense's fault that they could not get any pressure?
As of now our Defense is godawful.

Henne looked so much better yet we still only put 24 points on the board... and that was with a defensive INT gimmie TD from the 5 yard line.

If the Dolphins can't win alot of games with that type of QB play then Ross should close the franchise down. I am surprised to say it, but that was the best performance by a Miami Dolphin Qb I've seen since Dan Marino. I'm not saying he is as good as Marino, but Henne's performance was the best I've seen since Marino hung it up. He was absoloutely superb.

Now can someone explain how the strength of our team, the Defense was so completely beaten? I've been following this team since I was a child and I've never seen our players gassed and cramping up like they were today! Vontae was a huge disappointment along with the entire defensive unit. He needs to get his butt out there after practice with Reggie Bush and run some extra gassers. Get himself back into shape. Cramping up, are you kidding me?

Im right there with ya man. I KNOW our defense isn't gonna let this happen again. Nobody but brady could have done this to them and knowing that means our season just might be a good one.

If henne continues this play, and our defense doesnt get gassed like this, we're in business.

Schaub and McCoy cant do what Brady did tonight. Im not positive Rivers could either. The pats no huddle is what killed us, not the their talent. And thats something only the pats (and mannings colts) can do.

But damn Chad. what a game...

No, it's not ****ing bull****. Tom Brady and the Pats offense just plain and simple kicked our ***. They worked the no huddle to perfection. Once we got tired, because they made us tired, it was all in their hands.

Gotta give Brady a ton of credit tonight!

no other offense in the nfl can run that no uddle quite that efficiently. it wasn't their talent, it was there coaching and preparation. They're a vet team and they showed it.

The good news? The texans can't do that. The Browns can't do that. The chargers might be able too, but we'll worry about that later.

I just can't believe this was the most yards the Dolphins have ever given up in their entire history. The 18-1 Patriots never got that many against the 2007 Dolphins. Or 2004 (when pats won SB) or 2006 Dolphins.

The Texans have an equally explosive offense, so they have a chance to change things. Get gashed by the Texans and we're in trouble though.

At least? 417 yards passing 2TD's and 1 rushing TD is an at least? Bro, that's 6,600 yards on the year, 32 TD's 16 INT's and 16 RTD's.

I never did like that QB rating system and can't ever really understand it all.

Henne's QB rating tonight was 93.580. If you take away the interception at the end of the game (which for me doesn't mean squat as the game was literally over), his rating jumps to 102.083.

The offense (including Henne) needed to be better on 3rd down and near the GL. I was/am a Henne supporter though, and although he impressed me with a lot of his plays/throws it was his heart that won me over (more). He was standing tall in there and taking the hits in order to make the throws he had to, and he gave it his all down the stretch on some of those scrambles.

Chad Henne in 2011 already has more rushing yards than he had in ALL of the 2009 or 2010 season.

The other telling thing was the offense NEVER quit.

    Ever.

Reggie throwing a decleater with 80 seconds to go or Marshall having the awareness to call a TO when he saw a bad read... nobody on offense checked out.

Hopefully the new head coach will be selected by a new GM. I blame Ireland for much of what is wrong with the Dolphins. He has failed to upgrade the positions needed to compete against the teams in our division.
The fact that Brady had the best game he has ever had against the Dolphins tonight clearly shows that Ireland has done a terrible job as the Dolphins GM. The job of a GM is to provide players which will upgrade the overall talent, especially against teams in their division. Tonight clearly shows that after four years on the job. The Dolphins are no closer to the Patriots than they were when Ireland took over as GM.

If Ross decides to fire Sparano and keep Ireland. I don't see the Dolphins getting any closer to the Patriots or Jets and they will continue to lose ground to the Bills.

BTW, Brandon Marshall called a TO to stop a false start from being called him. The penalty should have been called. That timeout could have been used after the sack of Henne or Marshall's cramps. Saved some time to try and get into the end zone, then onsides kick.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa...hang on a second here. Now I'm not defending the defense and their pitiful performance tonight, but...in all fairness...before everyone goes and already starts firing Sparano and Ireland, you've had just about every sports writer singing accolade about...OUR DEFENSE!! How 10 of 11 starters were returning from last year...how after a full season under Mike Nolan our defense was going to be in the top 10 of the NFL, yada, yada, yada...

EVERYONE thought our defense was going to be the anchor of our team this year. No one questioned our defense, they all questioned...Chad Henne...Henne, Henne, Henne, Henne...everytime you turned around everyone was questioning Henne...oh and many of the posters here were calling for Orton, Hasselbeck, Palmer, etc...

There were even a few posters here who were so irrate over Sparano being retained and wishing that...MIKE NOLAN would become the new head coach. WTF?????

If anyone here would take a step back and not react emotionally, acting like peasants with pitchforks going after Frankenstein's monster, you'd see just how "irrelevent" Sparano is. We fired Dan Henning, bring in Brian Daboll and look what a difference a year made. WHOLE different offense, whole different Henne.

Perhaps instead of firing anger indiscriminately in all directions, maybe there should be some ire fired at...MIKE NOLAN!! Afterall, it was HIS defense that blew the game tonight, not Henne, not Daboll (although I do seriously question his 4th and 1 on the goaline call).

I've been a strong Henne advocate, and was glad to see him come out tonight. I know there were a lot of others on this board as well.

This should be a lesson to the fans (though it won't be). If you look back at last season objectively, he played decently well for 2/3rd for the first 12 games....it wasn't until the last 4 games that the wheels came off. It was never a lack of tools, it was the mindset that they put in him (don't screw up, or else!) and the lack of letting him go out there and do what he does. On top of that EVERYONE piled on the poor bastard. Statistically he had an INCREDIBLY unlucky year when it came to opponents intercepting his passes, the coaching staff benched him WAY before he should have had to even worry about getting benched, and the play calling sucked.

I'm VERY glad to see Henne step it up this game. I'm just hoping he's mentally strong enough, and that the fans and coaching staff are patient enough to LET him get to where he's going to be. I was livid when he got benched last year.....he wasn't playing lights out, but it was WAAAAY to early to pull the kid. An NFL QB HAS to believe he can do it, or he plays scared....the coaching staff, and fan reaction gave us what you saw last season. Instead of letting it wash him out of the league, Henne went home...said "**** this, I'll show them" and came in guns blazing tonight. He has nothing to lose, and the better he plays, the more he'll believe in himself, and the better he'll become.

I'll be the first to admit that I worried about his mental game...but DAMN he showed that he can play tonight. His internal clock was spot on, he identified the blitzes and got the ball out of there in time. He felt the pressure and stepped up in the pocket, he rocketed balls to receivers based on the coverage he read initially. If you had asked me yesterday what I thought of Henne I'd have said "I think he has potential to be a good Quarterback....I don't think he'll ever be elite, he's got the tools to put up some big games, but he'll leave you scratching your head sometimes". But he surprised even me tonight with the progression he's shown. I know it's only one game, I know that a lot can happen, but he's got me damn excited about the future. The only thing I saw missing tonight were touch passes.

The kid has a hell of a high ceiling. Not sure how this story ends, but he's got my attention. He's earned the right to take the reigns off and let him sling the rock. Hoping the coaching staff sees this too.....

He was leading HIS team tonight imo.

Sure he could have been better , but if several areas of this team played to 75% of his performance tonight we would have had a nailbiter.
