I will be honest with you, I dont know how he ripped the defense...maybe you guys can point that out to me. http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sport...lphins-owner-steve-ross-rips-his-defense.html
Hyperbolic headline=more page hits. Ross merely said the obvious "defense was shredded, was supposed to be one of the best, they will improve"
His conditioning is clearly off for the start of the season. He should be held accountable for the lacking motivation and fire in that rip.
Didn't see where I would call that exactly ripping on them. I guess if you're not saying anything but positive things it is considered ripping on them.
If speaking the truth is ripping the defense then I guess he did. He just pointed out what we all thought in the preseason and to see it get exploited like it did I dunno.... Hopefully it gets fixed Sunday.
His defense gave up an NFL record number of passing yards - what was the correct answer? In a way, he complimented them by saying "they were supposed to be" good. He could've just said they suck and no one on Earth could argue based on one game.
7171...I'm with ya' dude...I didn't see it either. Now some may consider me a little stupid, but I didn't see it. Bernadino is not usually a headline monger, but he certainly over sensationalized that conversation with Ross...I would expect it more from Omar or some of the other idiots that call themselves Fins beat writers...but add this clown to the list...
I don't think it was what he said, but the way he phrased it and the way people perceive it. "Our defense, which was supposed to be so good" could be seen as a rip by some people. I didn't see any problem with it but if you take the "So" out of it, it doesn't sound as sarcastic, but thats JMO.
So Ross answers a question and says he thinks the defense can be fixed. The article calls it a "jab." This thread escalates it to a "rip." Sounds like we are one headline away from Ross threatening to fire Nolan and cut the entire defense. Hmm...wonder how "OVERBLOWN" the whole Harbaugh incident was?
