For me, it was Lorenzo Booker. He made just about everyone miss the first time! Next year, we have to find a way to get him on the sideline every game.
he had already impressed me in past weeks. camarillo ran crisp routes but for the few plays quentin moses was in he impressed me most and think hes gonna have a bright future.
Camarillo was great today too, but what are you going to do, he's 4th on the depth chart right now. Hagan made some nice grabs again today too.
LBook of course, Gado and surprisingly Derek Hagan and Marty Booker. Hagan especially these last two weeks he really has played as well as people thought he would last season, he had at least three 1st down receptions and pinned the Ravens at their 4yd line with an awesome ST tackle. And Lemon's play...80% improvement, he had one "Cleo Boneheaded Play" where he ran out of bounds and knocked us out of field goal range, but other then that, he was "money".
Quentin Moses? He might pan out but he's way down on my list of bright spots. It's hard to pick just one, so here's a list in no particular order: Greg Camarillo (aka "Baby Welker") Lorenzo Booker (aka "little Matrix") Marty Booker Rodrique Wright Michael Lehan Jason Allen Jason Taylor Actually, there were probably a dozen or so guys that had very solid outings, which is probably why we won. That and a little luck never hurt (Billick not going for it on fourth and goal from the 1, botched snap that help lead to that missed FG in overtime).
While I agree with all of your other assertions, I do not agree with your analysis of Lemon. He did play well, especially in the fourth quarter and overtime, but he is still way to inconsistent and inaccurate. He missed several easy throws, including several dump offs, and seems a bit streaky to me. Also, seems fairly two-dimensional as far as the types of throws he's effective with. In a nutshell, he throws the short 5-10 yard outs really well, and if he threw slants on every play he would be a Hall of Famer. Unfortunately, in order to be a legit starting quarterback, you have to make all the throws with consistency. I don't think he can.
Don't project out to much HG, Lemon is inaccurate, this game however, he played 80% better then his earlier stint as a starter, and LBook really made a difference for us today. LBook and Hagan played their best games of the year, the Ravens were without their 2 starting Cb's and Ray Lewis was sitting on the sidelines with a broken hand, but for once, we were able to take advantage of another team's weakness instead of them taking advantage of our weaknesses.
Although he didn't impress me the most, I will say that this is the game that Jason Taylor needed. He looked like his old self today (when the Ravens OL wasn't tackling him). Let's see what a win does for his attitude.
lobook and moses... moses has been a very nice surprise, very glad we were able to get him and that hes contributing...
For me it was the Bookers on offense and Taylor on D. Lemon had 300+ yards but was horribly inaccurate, somewhere in the 20-30% completion range at times, and if the Ravens D didn't have another late collapse or had their starting CB's, he'd be stuck there. He made the plays that count but looking at his whole portfolio of the game, he's not starting material. And Taylor is back in double digit sacks and blocked a key FG. Who says he's losing it? What we need is our starting LB crew back, some more development in Soliai and Co., a ball-hawking blanket CB, and our D would be back.
I thought that the collaborative team effort out there was tremendous today. If I'm handing out game balls, here's who I would give them to, and why: Lorenzo Booker - Looked great, made some spectacular plays. Marty Booker - Kept picking up 1st down catch after 1st down catch. Greg Camarillo - Was that Wes Welker out there today? Cleo Lemon - Someone had to get the ball into Camarillo's hands. Lemon kept mistakes to a minimum this game, a huge plus. Jason Taylor - Dude finally showed up with monster game. Seemed like he was willing us to win out there. Cam Cameron - Give the guy credit, he made the right calls with the second half adjustments / playcalling. It was nice to see some spark out there. Let's hope it's the start of a trend.
The guys who participated in the game day thread today, who have stuck with this team all year and were there today as this game went on. Man we came one foot away from loosing this game, and I really think Baltimore lost by kicking for the tie instead of going for it from half a yard out with twelve seconds left. That gd kick out of bounds almost killed me, then they kept making plays and killing the clock. Everything was going their way at the end. We were all dying, right!?! The fans on here impressed me the most today!!!!!!! Thanks guys- this was one to really remember.
