BS, KC has lost both games by 66 pts and they have less then 20 pts themselves, maybe less then 15 pts.

Of course not. Who would anyway? Other than the rest of the AFCE?

But is Luck going to make us a
Juggernaut Super Bowl dynasty within the next five years?
Will fans leaving by the boatload after a 0-2 start against the Patriots and Texans make us playoff contenders?
I just don’t see the point in quitting.

I mean at least we aren’t the Seahawks you know? We were able to somewhat compete against top caliber teams, with a new offense, yet people are still all /wrist over it.

I think we have just seen this many times before and now expect it. We are apathetic to it all.

Problem is, this team isn't the 2007 Giants or the 2001 Patriots.

Not even in the same zip code.

Because Chad Henne is not an NFL starting caliber quarterback.

Some Dolphin fans have been so conditioned down here to our pathetic QB situation, that Henne's improvements make them think he is adequate.

He is not. Just take a look at the rookies over in Carolina, and other places. 2nd Year QB's over in Detroit, etc...

Henne cannot read the defense quickly enough to pick it apart. He's just not it. This is why we can't score points. QB runs the offense. period.

We complain that the defense needs to do more? They kept Houston at 23 points. What more do you want? Keep Houston to 15 points so we can win with our 16 pts?

Our offense has weapons. Elite WR. Don't mention to me Brandon dropped a pass or two. So did Andre Johnson, a wide open touchdown catch. So what.

We just have no legit QB. I am tired of this offense being garbage since Dan Marino left.

I don't think you understand how good Luck is. He is the greatest QB prospect in the past 15-20 years. His last remaining critics and haters questioned if Luck would be able to continue dominating this season with changes to staff and losing some key players. Guess what? He threw for near 300 yards and 2-3 TD's on saturday leading Stanford to win again.

I guarantee you, switch Henne to the Lions and bring Stafford here to Miami, and you will see this offense take off. It's the QB. I am telling you.

I know right...... Henne should be forced to make those catches for him.
It makes no sense to bag on Henne when Marshall is choking on big plays.

As a working musician, there are a few of their songs I love to play. Like it or not the crowds (more importantly the females in the crowd) go nuts and usually start to sing along. Loudly. Also Neil Schon was/is a very underated guitar player.

We have been down this long winding road many times before, only to see the same destination at the end.

0-2 is bad. What happens when we start off 1-3 before the bye? What about an even worse 0-4? How many teams made the playoffs after starting off 0-4?

Problem #1...you are still thinking playoff football and that this team has a chance to play for anything. Some of us knew coming into the season that the best to hope for was 7-9 or 8-8. After 2 games it is easy to see that neither will be achieved.

It isn't about Sucking for Luck. This season was about seeing building blocks in place and positives happening rather than negatives. While we have seen some flashes on O of positives, we have been horrible failures that haven't changed from last year or the year before. We still can't score in the redzone, especially inside the 10. We still have horrible penalties. We still turn the ball over at the worst moments. We still are out of position and lack key personnel.

Fact is we are not a good franchise and it is going to take a lot to turn this tide the other way, like it has Atlanta or NE.

    I’m confused.
I look at Carolina and Cam Newton. Obviously an amazing QB, perhaps not Luck, but he’s still pretty damn good; also, he’s with a team who finished last in order to get him. And they still lose. Will they be a good team (SB caliber) in a few years? Maybe. The NFL is weird you know.
Then I look at the NYJ, with Sanchez, who’s nowhere near elite, maybe a little below Henne (or above, depending on who you are asking) and they win.
That’s why I don’t get the “suck for luck”, especially this early and with the talent we have.

I respect you for your optimistic view on this season. But really, me and many others know this team is awful, won't able to compete for chicken poo and can't tolerate any more mediocrity of this franchise.

I'm all in quitting this season, not for the Andrew Luck draft pick(our chances are low), but to address the owner, Ross, that the fanbase is disgusted and this team's "regime" has gotten nowhere but losing and embarrassment. Andrew Luck is a consolation prize if things go our way and can bring something to look forward to while dumping Sparano & Co. and Ireland.

No not really, but if there are people out ther asking for some we have done a couple. Especially when it's the owner of one of the best clubs around here asking on her birthday. We have a few originals but we are mostly covers. We're old guys, don't want to be rock stars anymore.

Of course I'm still thinking playoff football and that this team has a chance. To me, it's only been two games. All I was wondering is why are so many people acting as if our season is done.

Tell that to all the fans I see / hear all over the web clamoring for it.

One team in the history of the NFL, who had more talent and better coaching than we have now.

I hate to be a realist to your optimist, but this team has zero....ZERO...chance of making the playoffs. Especially in a division with NE & the Jets, and with Buffalo playing worlds better than we are right now.

Not saying it is possible....I am telling you it is impossible.

I think in order to have hope for this team you would have to think that the coaching staff is going to be able to fix mistakes and make this team improve faster and to a higher level than the rest of the teams we are facing for the remainder of the schedule, because they are going to improve as well.

I just don't believe this staff can do it. Especially on the Oline front. We were terrible last season and we are looking similar again this year. If we can improve on the Oline and reduce the amount of stupid penalties ( on special teams as well as offense ) then we might have a chance. But special teams and Oline has been a repeating problem for this staff so I am not optimistic on this season.

Also we play in the AFC East which has probably 2 of the top 4 teams in the AFC. So you don't have the luxury of failing to 0-4 and having a chance to catchup.

What is with the obsession of sneaking into the playoffs?!?!

You and I both know we aren't going to win it all. We are first round fodder. You know it and I know it. What's the point?

I would rather go 2-14 and have the #1 pick.

Andre Johnson dropped a TD pass.

    It happens. SO WHAT!

The team just cannot succeed with 2nd-3rd tier QB's.

That is exactly what the Chargers said about Drew Brees.

And once again another fan that excuses their hero for dropping balls.
It happens? So what? I'll say it again .... The two plays plays Marshall left on the field could have been the difference in the game.
    Yeah so what.
Ah hell who cares. You don't want to win football games anyway.

The seasons over because we still can't win at home but well still win 6-7 games but yah that gets you no where. Also dunno the hate on marshal no wr in the NFL is getting as many targets as marshal you can't go to him to fix everything which is what the dolphins seem to be trying to do

And the play that Andre Johnson left on the field is the difference in optimists thinking we actually had a chance and the reality that Houston kicked the **** out of us, which sadly, is going to be a trend in this long season.

Get a legit QB and you will see this offense pick up. And win more games.

That's the end of it. The offense has enough weapons.

A #1 WR on what everyone calls a bad team with a bad QB. Who else should you rely on?
If he can't take the heat and make the plays he is supposed to make, maybe just maybe he is just not good enough.

This team unfortunately doesn't have the overall talent to be relevant at this point and that includes the coaching staff. Henne has improved somewhat but he will never be a top 10 QB in this league. The same people that blindly support Henne are the same ones that said they wouldn't touch Cam Newton if he were available during the draft. Interesting Huh?

Ignoring what? I could give a rat's *** what Andre Johnson did that has nothing to do with me as a Dolphin fan. I'm more concerned about BM's concentration on two potentially big plays. He looked away from the ball each time. Rule #1 catch the god damn.
Stop giving him a pass and man up. He choked.
When Henne throws a bad ball it is off with his head. When Marshall drops a ball it is so what or ignore it.
That philosophy only comes from player fans.

I understand the notion of getting the ball to your play maker but I also look around the league at the real offensive teams and see that they spread the ball around and don't force it to 1 guy. Marshall has had some drops yes I don't defend the drops but hes also the reason were near the red zone the majority of the time. I would much rather like to know why the f the dolphins didn't run a single pass play to reggie bush yesterday aside from that 1 1st down near the goal line.

What has Newton done besides put up yards? The negative plays are everywhere. If you care more about how many yards a QB puts up then you are still living in the "I love Marino" mentality. If Cam Newton were here on this team right now he would be eaten for lunch.

Is it just me or in the past were there a lot of people saying that Henne needs to throw to Marshall more. Now that he's doing it, it's called "depending on him" ?

Have you watched their games? Composure in the pocket, good decisions overall throughout the game and he's a difference maker in all aspects. And he's doing this with the Panthers by the way.

Can't really say I can argue with this except for the fact that we were getting killed at the LOS on passing plays. Way too often there was a free rusher coming downhill at the QB and we couldn't stop it. Reggie getts run over in blocking situations and his in between the tackle running ability is not strong enough. Those are the reasons we didn't see much of him yesterday. But yeah I agree with you on not trying to get Bush in space at all in the game.

Does having the first round pick make us a Super Bowl contender? Oh no, what's the point? In fact, I think this team had a number one overall pick not too long ago, hasn't resulted in our Lombardi yet. If the only point of this team is either to be good enough for the Super Bowl or suck really bad for a top pick, why are you bothering with this team until April?

I agree with you OP, I have a hard time understanding the throwing in the towel after game two of a sixteen game season. Especially when as someone else said, we played probably the 1st and 4th seed our first two games. I think during the season I'm just going have only check this site for news; the overreactions, both positive and negative, really get out of hand. And I'm not a big optimist. I wasn't one of the "we're going shock the world" people or one critiquing the media for ranking us so low, and I didn't pick Miami as a playoff team. Doesn't mean they're out of it with fourteen games to play though.

Sparano says: "I have my teams full potential on the road", So So is he saying he doesn't have the teams attention at home?
Maybe he shouldn't have said that. Good on the road last season, let's see what happens. The teams attention should be on the road and at home.

and we spent it on Jake Long. We could have had Matt Ryan.

Anyway, sometimes you get #1 picks in weak QB years. This coming draft is not weak.

Andrew Luck will lift this offense like Stafford is doing in DET, like Cam is doing in CAR, etc...
