http://www.miamiherald.com/2011/09/20/2415272/jason-taylor-says-miami-dolphins.html Way to go, take charge, someone has to step it up. Need that Intensity in games not only in practice.
What Amazes me is that it is the players asking for this! How about the damn "coach" start motivating this team and put some asses on the line? I mean would it really matter if we cut a few players? Not like any of them help this team! Sparano is a joke now. 4 years in a .500 coach in the AFC east un-motivated, bland players, and Jason Taylor who is mr invisibile out there is demanding more intensity! Sorry fellas I wan't to enjoy football again, but with this crew it is not going to happen!
Mabey he saw a difference in NY and Washington or even how things used to be done here?It is strange to hear an old vet call for tougher practice.
Ricky spoke out of turn last year and he is not here anymore .Those who criticize this regime will feel their wrath sooner or later .Fortunately for JT he does not have to worry about his job.He will probably outast the regime or retire as a Dolphin .
JT is doing exactly what I expect a team leader, Captain or not, to do. I can believe they are practicing sloppy, cause they sure look like it on the field. Garbage in Garbage out. If they don't practice well, how do they expect to play well?
I don't think so...... I think the underlying issue may be about new labor rules. If the coaches are abiding by labor rules and it's different from from the past, you will see more and more of this veteran outcry. I sorta knew more restrictions to contact in practice was going to be a burden.
I just think sparano is so afraid of someone getting hurt that he lowers intensity in practice. In turn it's been a mistake.
JT is gonna be vital to our team this season, not only as a leader but as a player as well. Misi is non existent and Taylor is already playing more than expected. I really hope he can light a fire in this defense and help turn this team around
What hurts the team perhaps even more is that the team doesn't have the necessary players to make up for the fact that Sparano is a poor coach. Something dawned on me the other day when I was watching old highlights of the Pats defense in 03 and 04. The talent on those teams was mediocre physically. Bellicheck probably has better physical athletes on the team today than he did back then. Regardless even with the supposed genius back there with all of these picks spent on defense etc etc... They don't amount to much. Football might not be a thinking man's game, but it definitely requires some instincts. I'm not sure there are enough football players on this team. There are a heck of a lot of athletes with potential and what not, but I don't think there are too many well rounded, bright players. This reminds me of what the team had in 2009. Had we kept Renaldo Hill we likely would have won two more games that year. Renaldo Hill, Renaldo Frickin Hill would likely have kept us very close in both of these games. That's the problem with this F.O. They have a disdain for veterans and well honestly football players.
Yeah, vets usually like the easier practices. To me that says he must really see it as an obstacle to winning football games.
Maybe they need the Jim Bates treatment of 04? That team was actually decent down the stretch just because of the little things, conditioning, effort, accountability, risk-taking.
Crowder said the last time Jason Taylor freaked out was after the embarrassing loss to the Browns in 2005 (He said "If you don't want to play football, quit, I'll pay the rest of your salary out of pocket."), when they won all 6 games after that. Who knows if this will help...maybe. If they can start scoring in the damn red zone that would help.
