This guy is all over knowledge on twitter, and is very reliable, like Section of the football world, so have at it Fin Nation.
Oh he has definitely been wrong as well, but he has hit some stuff recently...most hockey stuff though...
Jason Taylor and Yeremiah Bell didn't do Tony Sparano any favors when they called out the team's practice habits in front of the press, and Jason Taylor was one of the leaders that turned the team against Cam Cameron (though that was probably inevitable), but I don't think JT is knowingly doing this because he's convinced Tony has to go. I think he genuinely likes Tony.
He has been on the hockey stuff, which I follow as well...he is though a Jets fans I believe so hey maybe he is drumming up rumors....although would you be surprised?
^^ I agree. I think he like TS too, I think this is just a reporter throwing stuff on the wall to see what sticks.
I think they all genuinely like Tony. But that doesn;t mean they respect his coaching or his preparation. JT just can't help himself. He's designed to destroy Dolphin Regimes and he is succeeding once again. They did it to themselves, they didn;t need to rbing him back. It's like inviting Dr. Kevorkian to babysit your 100 year old grandmother on a ventilator and being surprised at the results
the players have quit on Tony more times than not recently. I don't see this as unbelieveable. but I don't believe it's true.
He isnt even a reporter, he just blasts tweets out, some stick, and some don't, but again I have seen him nail a couple a week before they happen on just everyday players, not even superstars, so he is getting information from somebody....again, I dont think it would be a shock if they start 0-4, and looked the way they have been to see him go...
What's the point? If we win or lose against Cleveland and lose to SD , which is likely even if we don't wish it , 1 and 3 , 0 and 4 , 1 and 4 , no new coach will affect a change to alter a non playoff year. Unless Miami is significantly further embarrassed I see no change till the end of the season , which will be 16 games long for Miami. Ross would feel the sting of how the off season was handled and how he endorsed bringing Sparano and Ireland back. No coach worth his salt would step in , other than an existing coach on the team. Ticket sales wouldn't magically escalate , and while the team may win a couple more games , not enough to warrant the upheaval as I see it. Miami should win this week , if they don't , then we ca start thinking about what GM would work with what coach imo. We play Cleveland whose GM would be an option if he was available imo ...
Who would Ross bring in, mid/begining of the season, that would be better than Tony the rest of the year? This franchise is such a cluster-****.
...or, you could view JT as a true Miami Dolphin who respects the team and the history and sees Sparano as what he really is: a dope who is running this team into the ground. Only someone who loves the Miami Dolphins and cares about the organization would make noise. If he was only in it for himself, he'd sit back, rush the passer on obvious passing downs, and collect his paycheck.
No one . If it was a coach you wanted long term , I doubt any would opt in under these circumstances. Also , to what benefit really? We're playing this season out out with the usual suspects , imo.
Perhaps what they think is that with one of the coordinators at the helm they still have a chance to do something this season. I don't blame them in thinking that. Daboll vs. Nolan
Thing is Sick you cant lose the locker room this early in the season...if canning him helps somewhat in reversing that, then so be it.....I mean maybe it is already lost IDK....it goes towards signing guys as well, who is going to want to come here if it is run like this..... oh btw....if soli signs it has to be by today......
As I see it , JT is just trying to get this corrected before it ABSOLUTELY is without a chance. It may be little , but IF his doing this makes a difference and Miami plays better/well in Cleveland , wins and then gets to go out to SD with a chance to be even after 4 games? That is a hell of a lot better than sluffing off the first two games and just slip sliding into a wasted season imo.
They come out beat Cleveland and then pull it off against San Diego they're ok. Too bad Jim Bates isn't available to pull off a discipline campaign.
Let's just say, I wouldn't have signed Jason Taylor. For many reasons. As for Paul Soliai...it's just a big shame. And of course the Dolphins have what like $12 million under the cap they're not using? In addition to the money that could have been saved if they did the right thing and gave Soliai a long term deal?
We've been here before. Stumbling out of the starting gate, losing precious ground in a division that doesn't look back. Its nothing new for this coaching staff, and beginnning to appear Sparano may lack the all important ability of "seeing the big picture". Inabilities to discern the team's readiness to compete in this league, in various phases of the game, prior to the competition making stark deficiencies painfully obvious , is a hurdle thats tough to overcome.
The extension was a "financial apology". Nothing more. Cost of doing business. If you think Ross is going to put up with this kind of play, and half filled stadium for two more years over less than $4 million you're mistaken
I'd love to know what kind of specific language there is in the contract extension about early termination and whatnot, whether there's a buyout that gets Ross out of paying the full $4 million extra.
There very well may be. But even if there isn't, $4 million is simply a sunk cost. Ross had to give him the extension once he couldn't get Harbaugh to avoid a true "lame duck" situation even though in reality Sparano is a lame duck either way. Ross did get out of this without giving tony a raise so Sparano's contract will not be a factor in firing him. This isn't the Vikings deciding to fire Chilly during the season after he signed like a 5 year, $20 million deal.
Right, and lets say they go to the end of today, and there is no deal, obviously the end of the season comes....if they tag him again, it will be upwards of 15 million no? I mean they cant let the guy walk....
IncarceratedBob has about a 30% success rate with reporting breaking news. Hardly reliable. With that said, I've imagined JT being somewhat of a locker room cancer at times but I just can't see that in 2 weeks of a new season that we're talking mutiny. Makes absolutely no sense.
Tony Sparano hardly needs Jason Taylor around to lose his job. What was his excuse last year when his JT-less team quit on him in the last game?
The cost of retaining Sparano will make $4 million look like a drop in the bucket if the home losses keep stacking up. Ross is already paying a heavy price for his decision to keep him with loads of empty seats.
