He still a free agent I believe, i know he's old, but im sure hes better than what we got. But his leadership would most likly throw a spark at the secondary position.
He was pretty much done as I recall. A guy like that doesn't sit out there if he's got anything left IMHO.
Do we really have anything to lose? The guy we have out there is currently making poor decisions that result in long touchdowns, and not making up for it with any kind of big plays. This is a league that loves youth an inordinate amount. I wouldn't assume that just because he's still available, he's got nothing in the tank. The Dolphins signed Al Harris for a short time and that actually ended up being a positive signing for us. He was available. I would absolutely try him out. God knows Yeremiah Bell isn't going to teach any of the young players in that safety unit how to intercept a ball.
sharper might be slow, but will rarely do anything that will kill you i wouldnt think. can probably impart some knowledge and preparation tips to our two young FSs
Ireland is way to much of an arrogant weasel to sign a guy like Sharper. It would be admitting he has made mistakes in talent acquisition and evaluation.
Eh, if CC is ready we won't need Sharper, but someone is going to be signed with LJ being waived. Safety or ILB makes the most sense.
Unless signing Sharper puts us in super bowl competition, you keep what we have and let the young guys play.
Eh, depends really, for example if CC is 3 weeks away, do you stick with Jones? Culver? Sharper would make some sense, so would Renaldo Hill tbh, played for Nolan in 09 in Denver, Miami in 08.
No it doesn't depend really. You stick with Jones is Clemons is out for the season. Unless Sharper makes us a SB contender, we stick with what we got.
Nope, he can hang out at the playboy mansion as he did during the lockout. RJ experiment=ovah Or should be, Lost is not just a TV show formerly on ABC..it is now playing in the Dolphins secondary...
Why so that more CBs lose their jobs? Hill was an ok free safety, he did his job. Same way Goodman didn't get us destroyed when he was here. Just good veteran players. That's what this team could use right now, not Marc Colombos but Brian Waters.
Simply because McAdolscent massively overpaid for both of them in the 09 offseason. As for Waters.. Colombo is getting Henne lit up
Problem is this team is full of guys that are great physical specimens but just don't get the job done. You can say some teams in basketball have low BBall IQ, this one has low football IQ. Will Allen being back was automatically a difference. You looked at the unit and saw that at least he was trying to hold guys accountable. Reshad Jones honestly should be a strong safety to me.
I just cant understand how this front office didn't see this probelm. Last year the dolphins were the worst in plays of 20 yds or more on defense. But, we dont do anything to fix it. Then our oline is in trouble on the rigght side and the answer was columbo??? Sparano should have been sent on his way last year. He was not qualified for the HC Position. Typically, an OC or DC gets the job, at least they manage group of positions, not just one part. Hopefully Ross is smart enough to turn this around, get ireland out of here as well. Idk who will be right for the job, but its obvious these two knuckle heads are not. Hell for the rest of the year let Daboll run it. I'm sure he can get this team motivated.
And then what? We go and hire some big name coach that throws everything for a loop. We lose Soliai or something to switch to this and that defense? All we need is someone to take the current team, use it to its best potential, make simple moves to improve discipline, conditioning, basic stuff. Daboll might be the right guy.
