    :wink2:

IMO, if we lose to Cleveland, our hopes for a winning season are dead and gone and there's no chance T survives. I mean. our owner already completely dis'd him with the whole Harbaugh fiasco. There's no chance we keep him. Oh well. I like T, but he's a goner.

Talking hypothetically of course since Sparano is still HC, but I don't see Miami landing a Gruden or Cowher. They are going to want control of personnel moves and would likely result in major player turnover. I think Ireland will be kept to keep core intact.

Good job JT!!! Players need to STEP UP!

Watch we go 0-4 and then Nolan or Daboll takes over and they become this disciplined, pissed off, balls to the wall team. :shifty:

I'm new to all this and hope to improve my understanding of NFL from posters on here, but it does appear to me that The Dolphins haven't moved forward since TC has been in charge. And that is not good enough.

Well bro, I think if Ross wants to and decides to go after a Gruden or Cowher, he will do so and he will leave it up to that coach to decide if he wants to keep Ireland or not. IMO, I don't think that new coach will want Ireland back. A coach like the ones whom you mentioned would probably want their own people and want to put their own stamp and plan and vision, etc on the team. Also, those coaches aren't going to get rid of all the players. I'm sure they would keep the guys whom they like and whom they think are worthy of keeping. I'm actually in a small group of people who thinks Ireland's record of talent acquisition is less than stellar. Not horrible. There's been some snafus and there's some moves whom, due to limited time, have yet to prove themselves. He"s also done some good things, but not enough to make a new coach undoubtedly want to keep him. Obviously, this year is going to go a long way to proving his worth or allure. Sometimes, despite some good moves a GM might have made and whether they'll be deemed a success or failure, lies in the QB position. A lot of his fate is tied to Henne. Henne is going to have to seriously light it up from now on. I know Henne may have been a Parcells endorsed pick, I forget the details, but regardless, Ireland is kind of tied to him. If Henne doesn't all of sudden really start lighting it up and help lead us to a successful season, I don't think it will bode to well for Ireland's future here. Now, if he somehow happens to get another year and gets us a Luck, Barkley or Jones, then his future here could be totally different. If we do make a coaching change, the decision to keep Ireland or not will ultimately come down to whom that next HC will be.

Now see, I don't think that Ross cares one iota about the core of the team as long as he gets a brand-name coach. I think he's already talking to Cowher or Fisher or Gruden, any of the brand name guys that'll listen. He's infatuated with star power so I disagree. I don't know what's in Ireland's contract about player control right now, but it means nothing if Cowher, for example wants the control. I easily see either the brand name guy getting the player control or Ireland being put under that guy or Ireland getting outright dumped along with Sparano. The players aren't exactly showing they are behind TS very much, it's public knowledge that quite a few don't really like Ireland and now a bunch of them are in injury purgatory for not conditioning properly during the offseason...Spelling disaster for TS and JI... Ironically enough, the one guy who might be retained, if he wants to be, is Nolan, the likely interim guy if Ross' does the dirty deed during the season...the rest...pffft...

The fact that Sparano is on the hot seat should come as no surprise to anyone who follows the Dolphins. Ross did attempt to get rid of Sparano after last season and hire Harbaugh. With the Dolphins 0-2 and both losses at home, the seat is no longer just hot, it is boiling.
