uhhh.... ... ... well... ... ... nope. Dan Henning wasn't the problem after all gang. Ireland and Sparano are. These guys never should have been promoted to these positions. Ireland is smug, arrogant and hyperactive and Sparano is not HC material.
Hard to argue with that. While I still think Ireland is a fairly decent GM, Sparano consistently doesn't have this team ready to play and hasn't show an ability to adjust to the strengths of his players.
Ireland and Sparano don't excuse the crap that Henning was doing either...he was just the 3rd stooge...now we're down to two..
Henning wasn't better than Daboll. Henning's line though held together against the pass better and that was the difference.
Yup Henning was washed up and terrible but that doesnt mean field goal fist pumpin Sparano isnt to blame as well.
Dan Henning was ****. Perspective. Don't just say the first thing that pops into your head after an emotional loss.
I think lots of Phin fans have said Sparano is in over his head for quit some time now. In fact, its pretty much why Im banned over on CluelessHeaven as apparently a few MODS love them some Tony.............
Henning had issues but he was nothing more than their scapegoat. Now who's to blame? It is getting more and more obvious that Ireland and Sparano aren't ready for these positions.
Oh, I want Sparano gone as much as the next guy. But, Daboll has done a noticeably better job than Henning. Daboll calls WTF plays. Henning called WTF games.
Ok, ok, I'll give you that one. It's the only thing that made me smile all day. I used to be proud to be a Dolfan, now I am embarrassed. Look what these idiots have done to this franchise. It's deplorable. Oh well there's always Hockey. The season just started.
Seems to me Dan Henning knew Henne was not a starting caliber QB, so that's where all that Wildcat creativity came from.
If you're pinning the success or failure on one person not named Peyton Manning you're probably off-base.
Wrong. Henning was a product of the culture Parcells brought in here. He was part of the problem and Henne's struggles are a direct result of poor coaching from Henning and co.
I think it's pretty clear Daboll is an improvement over Henning. Henne might not be an elite QB, but I think it's pretty clear he's vastly improved under Daboll. The offense might be struggling to score points, but by god they are unquestionably more aggressive, can hit big plays and go up and down the field. Henning wasn't the only problem. And there are new problems. But I'd disagree that the change at OC wasn't a good move.
I think to get over Henne's difficulties in the red zone you need a better line a heck of a tight end threat. Is that hard to do? Not that difficult.
I dont know if there is ANY OC. out there that would make me want Henning back. I wont EVER look back and hope he is here again. I dont see us getting better until we get a REAL QB and Ireland might have to go for that to happen. There was no excuse for letting Mallet slide by our pick, not in our current state of affairs..........so for THAT, I now dont care if Ireland stays or goes. Big Tony is probably already a goner.
