I can't think of a worse head coach in the league now than Tony Sparano. Honest.

Can you? I'd love to hear it.

The only guy I can even come close to considering maybe as bad would be Jim Caldwell, just because he's been living fat off Tony Dungy's team and Peyton Manning being a coach on the field and hasn't proven his coaching abilities add anything to the Colts.

Tony Sparano is little more than a cheerleader on the sidelines. The only possible blessing in keeping him on the rest of the way would be he could "coach" us right into Andrew Luck.

Nah, key injuries to star players all over the field and his team still competed against a good Chargers team today. This is all subjective, but personally I think he's a better coach than Sparano.

Won a game with a worse QB than Chad Henne. Also had a nice run in the playoffs last year. Again, just my opinion but MUCH better coach than Sparano. Much higher football IQ.

Monst is right...Sparano has a talented team that sucks...and he need not look any further than the mirror.

So basically as long as you can make excuses for the coach they aren't worse? Ok........

Huh? I said in my opinion Pete Caroll is a better coach. He's 1-2 right now. Sparano is 0-3. I respect your opinion but don't act like it's crazy for me to say Sparano is a worse coach than Pete Carroll.

Sparano didn't fire his successful offensive coordinator and then started losing.

I never said it was crazy. And pete carroll having one more win this year, and winning a division going 7-9 isn't something that makes him a great coach IMO. Seattle lost to the niners and got raped by the steelers. They barely beat the cards today, a team with a nonexistant qb. So far to me it looks like he won't be that great in the nfl.

Well I certainly didn't say Pete Carroll was a great coach. Not even close. You make very valid points. But I still think he's absolutely a better coach than Tony Sparano. Just my opinion.

And there may be coaches in the NFL right now that eventually prove to be worse coaches than Sparano. But at this moment in time right now, Tony is DFL, IMHO.

Leslie Frazier - Haven't really seen enough of Vikings games this year to have an opinion. Jury still out, in my mind anyway.

A nice run? Monst the Seabirds went 8-8 and backed their way into the playoffs last year. At some point it seemed like they were going to be 7-9.

Sure they won the opening round, but it wasn't because of Carroll. They simply got lucky and took advantage of the other team's miscues.

I've seen nothing from Carroll at this level to suggest he is anywhere near being an adept NFL head coach.

EDIT: Seattle was 7-9 last year. Yes, finishing with a losing record but still making the playoffs because you play in an inferior conference is certainly a hallmark of a potentially good NFL Head Coach.

Sparano is awful but Haley is worse. The Chiefs lost their first two games 89-10. A healthy RB and FS don't change the outcome that much.

Vikes have collapsed the last two weeks as well.

Eh, when you have 0 wins 3 games into the season, you are not doing a good job no matter where that coach is working.

After one of the field goals, I counted like 5 or 6 fist pumps by Sparano.

Our issues goes beyond coaching, but Frasier and Carroll are easily worse coaches than what we have roaming the sidelines. I give Pete the benefit of the doubt because I think he is deliberately tanking for a top 10 QB pick next year but that's just me. Tony is gone the week after next so don't fret to much.

I disagree. Gary Kubiak has always underachieved. Jack Del Rio continues to get a stay of execution for reasons that are beyond me.

Doesn't Nolan run the D, and Daboll call the plays on O?

They do. By the way I was watching Nolan call plays on D. Nolan was actually doing fine for the most part. His play-calling is actually fair except for a few mistakes but it's not worth changing the guy. The play of the players though is terrible. As far as Daboll goes I have some questions in the red zone for him.

Neither guy is free of blame but I would like to see the team under a tighter ship. It seems without Parcells hovering over them, the discipline has completely gone away. In 2009 the team was very low in penalties, players were held accountable, and everyone was in shape. Tony's coaching was still terrible but clearly something has happened along the way.

You all make valid arguments. But the fact that it's debatable and there are only less than a handful of guys we can even mention as being worse tells us all we need to know about our head coach.
