Some thought I may skip this week but, DGNN survives as there were some good things to talk about. It ain't easy but there were some good performances from our players. Here we go. Fields has been absolutely GREAT on every punt. He gets my vote for the Pro Bowl. Daniel Thomas has looked REALLY good in back to back games. On one play, where he lowered his head and moved the D, he reminded me of Zonk. Brian Hartline had another VG game. Overall, he may be our best WR so far. Chad Henne played well, while being under a lot of pressure. Although he needs to take another step up, he is a different player from a year ago. Pouncey had another VG game. I thought he would be very solid at worst, and has exceed my expectations. IMO, he is better than his brother. If his play continues, he is worthy of Pro Bowl consideration. I also have to give "Little Jimmy Wilson" some credit. His first INT was no great play but, he did catch the FREAKIN ball. He was beaten for the game losing TD but, he did have the balls to take all of the blame after the game. Ya gotta love the kid. That's all I got. Anyone else?
Good news is that we're that much closer to firing Sparano and still holding onto a ticket in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes.
These are some bad news days for the Dolphins but there are some good things that are going on although not enough.I appreciate DGNN because any good news is a good thing.
SB, I admire your ability to stay positive in the worst of situations. My positives, as usual are much more depressing than yours. Here's this week's positive - I've become so numb to Dolphin losses that I don't even swear or scream at the TV anymore. Dolphin losses no longer ruin my week. I come to expect them. My stress is way down this year.
Ok i am speaking for myself the good news network is for people who accept losing.I don't there is no good news we suck.
Well my good "news": -first time the team played as a whole, they lost, but my sense is guys are settling into their roles a bit better then they were to start the yr. -one step closer to a resolution, one way or another, of the Parcellian model, of all things I think that is what must happen this yr. One way or another, we either move forward and have our Qb and Rb, or we shuffle Deck of the Staff and bring in someone new, to me I'll be quite happy to see this resolved as the back and forth and even some of the things we see in this thread, makes the Dolphins rather unfun to be a fan of at this time.
MB, It's getting tuffer and tuffer to continue this thread. However, there were guys who played well, and I don't believe they should be lost in the overall depression of the game. JMO
-Daniel Thomas can run, even behind a bad O-Line...let's just hope he doesn't become one of those "one season wonders". Jimmy Wilson shows enthusiasm and hunger, may be good next season. -The game was on the road, so Dolphins fans can stop blaming the stadium. -TD the mascot is in an ESPN commercial with Hope Solo & Alex Morgan, so that's good. But now he has to return to Sun Lifeless Stadium...which will depress him. -The Jets and Patriots are not in first place. -We are in first place... (for Andrew Luck)
Brian Hartline continues to impress. The guy has become GREAT at those sideline catches. He's a very legit #2 WR. He's also getting behind the defense, which is nice to see.
Somehow you managed to mistake someone who chooses to appreciate the positive for someone who accepts losing. You're way off there. There are enough threads harping on the bad, SB chose to highlight the good parts. Nowhere does he accept losing as OK, and neither does anyone else here. But even with the losses there are a few bright spots.
Padre, I try to look fairly at what has happened to our team. I see game changing catches made vs Jimmy Wilson, Nolan Carroll, and Sapp. I know injuries are part of the game but, none of those three would have normally been in coverage on those plays. I accept it but, cannot grin and bear it.
Pro Football Focus also think Mike is better than Maurkice was not only as rookies, but this year as well. PFF is stating that Mike would be a Pro Bowl candidate if he were on a winning team.
Thanks Phineas, IN NO WAY do I accept losing. Just ask the wife and the TV repairman. This is nothing more, or less, than pointing out that there were some players who do/did some good things for OUR team, and that they should be recognized. This is a one of a kind thread, and I will keep on keeping on putting it up as long as I keep posting.
I really like Hartline. He is a nasty SOB on special teams, and just keeps making catches (not only the easy ones). Many thought he should be replaced. He has proven those DEAD WRONG. I wish we could put some of his heart and hands in Marshall.
This week's ratings are not yet out. From last week, Carey got a lot better from week 1 to week 2, and Columbo still SUCKS.
Well, as I've said SB, dolphins fans are in a rare position this season, we literally cannot "lose". Think about it..
I like Jimmy Wilson more and more, he didnt seem to get beat as badly as he did in the Pats game. He seems to be adjusting to game speed and should be making more plays soon. I dont see how you'd play Carroll over him. Nolan Carroll is another game closer to getting cut.
