Looking ahead to the schedule, we are seeming to catch SD at the right time. Gates is out this week, Rivers does not appear to be on his game so far this season, and their secondary has been worse than ours. Really, SD hasn't really blown anyone away like you'd expect them to. I personally like playing ol' Norv. His teams always find a way to underachieve. Our division opponents all seem to have tough match ups as well this week- bills vs. cowboys, jets vs. ravens, pats vs. raiders. IF the above mentioned in the title were to happen, we'd only be 1 game behind the pats & jets, and 2 behind the bills with 12 more games to play. Not terrible, I think. Ever the optimist that I am, my hope is that maybe, just maybe, our newly formed offense discovers the redzone on a regular basis, and our defense finally gets in shape to play 4 quarters at a time, we break whatever curse was put on that god-forsaken stadium (I'm looking at you, Wayne H), and then we can have a nice little run after the bye week! Fire away!
Hopefully it pans out that way, I'm not someone who is in the "Suck for Luck" mentality because IMO there is no such thing as a golden ticket in the NFL. You have your probabilities, but nothing is guaranteed. I hope that this happens, but I don't think it will. Who knows though.. that's why we play the games.
Did you find Ricky's stash? Actually I love your optimism and I love that we will not have a bunch of TE's destroying us. If VD comes back and can keep Carroll off the field our def. will be much better. I also love playing a Norv Turner team early in the season rather than at the end. As much as I would love for our O to open up and turn this into a track meet, I hope they run DT right up there arse and control the tempo keeping Rivers and Jackson off the field giving our defense as much rest as possible. This would be a good game to win giving our team something to build on going into the bye.
"We Play To Win The Game" Im With You, I paid for Sunday Ticket and I would rather see us win as well. Otherwise I wasted a ton of money....... How bout we stop begging for early draft picks and start getting coaches who can develop a mid round pick. They cost less and tend to work harder with a chip on their shoulder....
I'm usually right there with you with posts like this, I just dont think I have it in me this year. This team, this year has completely broken my spirit for this team. I'm going to watch, but optimism is far out the window for me. Its not even just this team losing, its how they are losing. They aren't losing because of lack of talent, they are losing because of lack of preparation and mental mistakes. No reason this team shouldn't be 2-1 at worst. Just a pure waste of a year of football thus far.
They could easily win this game with Gates not healthy and Jackson struggling. I think they can run on San Diego and then throw down the field.
Looking at the craziness in the baseball world last night gave me a new found hope! Plus did you see who missed practice for SD today- Matthews Jackson Floyd Jammer Gates (already declared out) Unless Randy McMichael gets some kind of revenge motive going, I actually like our chances.
Well Bob Griese said that the San Diego game is not a must win for the Dolphins.....I guess that means he's on the "Suck for Luck" bandwagon?
At this point winning is only detrimental to the future of this team. This will be a fool's gold win and Sparano will be granted an even longer stay of execution to f up the operation.
Yeah,I know what you mean. Trying to stay positive but its hard. The less stressful path is to just expect the roof to cave in. Sad ,to say the least.
Just means I get to spend 3 hours yelling at my TV and coming up with silly ideas like a Suck For Luck Bandwagon.
Those Coast to Coast games are always an uphill battle - just ask the Jets. I think we have a chance to be sure, but SD is the better team and in a better situation.
I am afraid to even suggest that we will beat San Diego after the last three weeks. I almost feel like it will jinx the Dolphins if I even suggest it. I remember before NE we were talking about a top 10, maybe a top 5 defense with an improved OL and new weapons with Bush, D. Thomas, Gates and an improved Chad Henne and B. Marshall. We were talking about a chance to beat the Patriots. Then reality hit us between the eyes. The Next week we were looking at what we thought was a good chance to beat the Texans at home, and we were pretty confident of our first win. Again reality struck. Now we go to the third week and we travel to Cleveland to face the lowly Browns, surely this will be our first win, facing a team more evenly matched with the Dolphins. With many it wasn't a question about a win, but just how much the Dolphins would win by. This would be the Dolphins first win and the Dolphins would go to San Diego 1-2. Again reality showed its ugly head and instead of being excited about the first win we were now 0-3. So I wont suggest we will beat San Diego at their home, but I will just hope that our team plays much better and recovers some respectability. I wont dare say we will beat San Diego because I don't want to jinx our Dolphins.
Ugh, Forrest Griffin's pre-fight motto before getting humiliated by Anderson Silva. If we are the only team to win in the AFC East this week then we will move all the way up to 4th place in the division.
Because we're not very good at any aspect of the game on either side of the ball. And the biggest playmaker on our team can't seem to hit FG anymore. We're getting **** on sunday. And if you asked me how I would feel about that prior to the Cleveland game, I would of said I'd be mad. Instead, suck for Luck... i'd endure 1-15 all day, every day, in every way for him. Throw in Gruden too while we're at it.
Call me crazy, but I have a gut feeling we're going to lose during the Bye Week. Bye Week-17, Dolphins-13
