http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...llenges-reporter-to-put-on-some-pads-homeboy/ Pretty sure it's Omar, he mentioned players who want to fight on the radio today...... Omar should have channeled his inner Will Mcdonough.
The best part of the whole thing were the idiots trying to make it a race issue. If they'd have taken just a second to list all of the white people they've ever known named Omar, they'd have probably not said a thing. Seriously, a white guy called Omar? A white guy?
The fact is that Burnett has played lousy this season and he deserves to be racked over the coals in the media. He has not been an upgrade over Crowder at LB. Perhaps Burnett wanted the reporter to take off running so he could tackle the reporter. At least Burnett would have one tackle to his credit. Unfortunately with how inept he has appeared so far this season, he just might need to play against a team of overweight and out of shape reporters just so he can actually make some plays in a game. He obviously isn't having any success playing against players in the NFL this season.
I like this. Not sure why. I agree that Burnett should probably channel his frustration towards his own play and teammates, but at least SOMEONE is pissed like us on this team. SOMEONE has pride and hates the situation they have put themselves in. Either that or he is way too sensitive to Omar's critiques...
I dont think there is a single person on this website that wouldnt love to see Omar Kelly get knocked the **** out.
Well, I wouldn't say that..but if it did happen, would just hope there is some Rome v Everett type footage of the event..for history's sakes...
Too funny...really though, Burnett got a huge contract to make plays. He's been invisible and worse than Crowder. A reporter gets paid to report, if a player making a ton of money isn't doing anything then they get criticized. Simple.
Can we get Gus Johnson on the Play by Play? I caught his call on a sack on Red Zone where Hali got McNabb and that was the most exciting sack of my life.
I don't know, I kind of like Omar. He is always quick to respond to good questions, and he's flat out honest about what he really thinks and doesn't sugar coat anything. Is he perfect? Heck now, but I appreciate the effort and interaction w/ fans. Sounds to me like Burnett is protesting too much, so to speak. He knows the critique is hitting too close to home!
Omar's a bloody arse douche media troll. Any beat writer who arrogantly thinks he's more significant than the teams he covers deserves to be blindsided by Ray Lewis IMO.
Ok so we now know that Burnett has the guts to call out a reporter, one has to wonder just when he'll pony up and do the same on the field, for which he's being paid! Just another one of Jeff's jerks!
Honestly, the longer the season goes on, the more I think Id rather have Crowder over this guy. Maybe a little football IQ rubbed off on Crowder from ZT but at least he was decent against the run. Omar has his ups and downs in my opinion. Id rather see Armando get tackled by Burnett...
Good God. Can see it now Reporter turns up, sidesteps the issue..Burnet misjudged the move and was left flailing as the reporter walks away untouched
I try not to be down on Omar. But he makes that pretty straight up difficult sometimes. The irony of this incident is he always complains on Twitter about "internet tough guys" and "internet thugs" taking disrespectful swipes at him on the internet but not in real life...and here was Kevin Burnett basically accusing him of being exactly that. I mean, so many times when I see Omar go ape sh-t over his Twitter followers and what they're saying to him, I just do a quick search on @OmarKelly to see what people are saying to him that made him react, and it's like one or two guys implying that he's not very good at his job or something like that. Or even just asserting that they think he's wrong. That's what he's going ape sh-t over. So here Omar Kelly is questioning how well Kevin Burnett is doing his job (not without reason), and Kevin Burnett is calling him out for being an internet tough guy. It's delightfully ironic.
annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd then he quotes the Bible....
I bought Omar and Andrew a beer at the Mexican joint on 4th in Cleveland. He has a big head but does not mind asking tough questions to get us answers. He probably gets a lot of rude people on twitter. I think he is a good dude. I also don't think he would have a chance in the fight. He is not very big. I'm only 6' 185 and closing in on forty. I did not find him intimidating at all. He did come across as a really nice guy though. It is his job to be an as$hole.
