Why stop at one #1 pick? Just don't show up on the field for three years, and take three consecutive #1s?
How about about 7 gears ago when they got a goalie first overall and then in back to back years drafted franchise centermen first overall, leading to another Championship.
Aaron Rodgers had a similar injury his first year starting and finished the game. I think after a BYE, he may be good to go.
Yeah, and let's just wait for a 6th rounder, in the sport we are discussing, to be the Franchise. SPARE ME.
Okay...Peyton Manning. Still laughing? Nah bro, much better to stay in the middle of the pack and miss the playoffs for another decade.
Not with this line. Henne is guaranteed to get pummeled against the Jets and he'll be out again before the end of the first quarter.
That's fair because they've shown nothing so far but might I also suggest that you should not get your hopes so high in the Suck For Luck sweepstakes either. You are more than likely going to be dissapointed as well. The Dolphins have had no such luck in 39 seasons.....
The Lions look like contenders and it's all built on the back of two #2 overall picks and a #1 overall QB. None of us suckers for Luck want to tank multiple seasons for picks. We simply understand we're not making the playoffs this year and would prefer to miss the playoffs by a lot and set ourselves up for years of success than to miss it by one game and continue to be a subpar team.
Probably better than what we're dealing with at the moment. He's Mario EFFIN Lemieux for Pete's sake!
If you look at the teams in the NFL that have had sustained success for the last ten years, the overwhelming majority have done so because of great management, not high draft picks. I'm not sure why you assume that not getting a top-5 picks dooms anyone to mediocrity. Great management is the fastest way to sustained success.
Well, back on topic, Crowder said how they come out vs the Jets will say a lot, if we come out flat then Sparano or whomever, won't matter as the team has core issues, if they come out and play with intensity, something they have lacked, then SB's 4-4 is possible. The wildcard in this is Matt Moore, he can be great, making plays down the field, nice touch on the ball, or he can be bad, holding the ball to long, indecisive, which one we get, and whether or not Daboll wants to pound the ball (which he should) pretty much determines heaven or hell for actual Dolphins fans.
I've been watching the Miami version of "Murphy's Law" (If something can go wrong, it will) for years Padre. It just cannot keep going on. I watched the replay of the game but, not closely. Andre Johnson is perhaps the best WR in the NFL. Yet, he was left as wide open as can be (no one within 10 yards) for a TD. He had another long gain when Bell fell down in coverage. Henne gets injured because Hilliard did not hear the call. Marshall has more drops. This has been the rule, and not the exception, for this team, and it is not anywhere near normal. Hartline has continued his VG play from last season, before the injury. Henne has improved. Other than that, no player from last year has been even close to as good. How can anyone explain that? IF these players can play as they have proven to be able, winning the next 4 games is a possibility. We just need to get rid of Mr. Murphy and his law.
SB, this is one of the reasons why I'm totally in favor of Sparano shaking things up, new blood out on the field means new effort. And effort covers over a lot of mistakes.
I can't see where a "Dolphin Depth Charge" can come from Padre. It has to come from the guys out there, and getting Mr Murphy to be on the other team.
My goodness I can as I pointed out in my "who should be benched and why" thread. Reshad Jones has to sit, NCarroll has to sit, Colombo has to sit, Brandon Marshall has to sit, Guys who have to play more: -Nate Garner -Will Allen -Clyde Gates -Chris Clemons -Marvin Mitchell
I think when we sit anyone it should be if there is a better player behind him. I wouldn't sit Marshall because even with his drops he is the best WR we have. I would sit Burnett though. He is the worst pass coverage ILB in the league through the first 4 games. Reshad Jones totally blows. Worst pass coverage safety after 4 games. Special teamer only at this point. Clemons needs to start and make Culver the 3rd safety. Carroll needs to sit down too and promote Wilson to nickel back, with Allen starting till Davis gets back. I'd cut Colombo and start Garner, and promote Feinga from the PS to fill the roster spot. Carey has been improving at guard from week to week so reports of his demise may have been premature. I'd like to see what we have in Ryan Cook and maybe consider him at RT too, although I like him better the farther inside he lines up. His best position is C, followed by G, then RT.
Big risk though Mr C, too many changes and things regress, proper changes and things quickly improve. Brandon Marshall is in danger of becoming my "new' pat cobbs, just a player I can do without...only Lost Jones saves him from sinking. When I do not like a player, typically they are not around for very long.
You suggest 4 changes, I suggested 4 changes. I fail to see your point. To refer to Marshall as the new Pat Cobbs, simply defies thinking imo, sorry Pads. I don't think even Killer would equate Marshall to Cobbs. Where is Killer btw? Ain't seen the dude in a while. I'm getting senile so may just missed it. Did he and DolfanJake go on a Caribbean Cruise together or something?
Still see only KC and Denver as winnable games for us, no matter who is in at QB. So IMHO the best possible scenarios 1. win the SFL sweepstakes, 2. replace Sparano with a real HC, and 3. Give the new HC some equalizing power with Ireland (rather he goes too, just don't expect that to happen).
