"I've done it before," he said. "I expect to do it. Put me in the shotgun. I've played through it and expect to play through it again."

"I can rip this arm off," Henne said of his left arm on Sunday. "As long as I can post the ball up I think I can play."

''Quarterback Chad Henne was schedule to get an MRI on his injured left shoulder on Monday. But no matter the results, Henne said he's intent on playing against the Jets on Oct. 17.''

No matter what you think of the man, I like what I hear from him..

He's been working hard. You can't take that from him. He has a lot of incentive to be on the field since his current contract is ending.

Thats true...But you know I think he's been treated unfairly, so maybe he will be the one to win the crowd over..

Here's a guy, who is gonna be a FA, and has been ripped to shreds by fans, media, and coaches. He is also making "lunch money " for a QB. YET, he wants to play.

    Any negative comments here?

At this point, it's time to move on. Both Henne and the team need a fresh start. It hasn't worked out for a myriad of reasons. No hard feelings but this is not a good relationship for either side anymore.

    Contract year.

He knows he is not coming back to Miami and will likely never be a starting QB in the NFL again. If there's any hope for a contract after this season with the Dolphins or anyone else, he has to get on the field. That's why.

Negative comments? Sure. He sucks. Working hard and wanting to play in a contract year means nothing to me. He's not a good QB.

He's got plenty of hope for a contract, he's be a good backup just about anywhere, now starter I think that the issue here.

Yeah, the stupid SOB should just sit out the rest of the season. He's getting paid $550K, and will get paid a whole lot more next season if healthy. Why play? Maybe, just maybe, he loves the game, and does not want to give up on his team.

    Just a thought.

I'll never take anything away from his toughness.

But let's be honest here. If his season ends right now, he's a backup next year. Three straight seasons with passer ratings in the 70's will do that to you.

Toughness is huge... Problem is, it doesn't correlate to wins without talent. Jay Fielder played with a torn rotator cuff. Tough *** SOB. AJ Feeley played on one leg. Tough SOB. Henne seems to be in the same mold. Lot's of respect for the heart. However, as someone pointed out, the relationship between Henne and Miami is coming to a close. It's not me, it's you...

He's going to go to a team after this, with good coaching, be a backup for a year or so. He's going to get a chance to play again somewhere as a starter, somehow. I bet he rips up the league. I can see it now... its just the luck of the Dolphins.

Henne is ranked 24th in the league in passing efficiency and 28th in the league in completion percentage....... not to mention a PUTRID array of stats like red zone, 3rd down conversions......

    Won't be hard.

You know what? If you took away all the 4th Qtr interceptions, his QBR in the period would be a shade under 90, and a 90 QBR is pretty good so... like, yeah.

Sanchez has 8 fourth quarter game winning drives on his resume. A few other stats I have read about too that put Henne to shame. Heck, I was re-watching the 2009 MNF game between us and the Jets. If it wasn't for the Wildcat off the backs of Ricky and Ronnie and great blocking, Sanchez would have had 9 fourth quarter comeback game winning drives.

It's obvious to me. Henne is a guy who is scared. He's slow to read the correct routes, he can't put the ball in good places for his receivers, and he can't checkdown as good as I would want.

He has a rocket arm, yes. But he is also incapable of making throws that CREATE big plays. He plays just good enough to make you think he's mediocre, but he will never win you a game. Some fans look at Henne and see a lack of bad play, I see him and see LACK OF GOOD PLAY. I guess 10+ years of garbage QB's in Miami will do that to some of us.

You know what? If you took away the fact that I can't throw the ball as hard as an NFL quarterback, my ability to play in the NFL would skyrocket....so... like, yeah.

I honestly do not think that even enters into his thinking. If he was in the first year of a long term megabucks deal, I think Henne would approach this the same way. I also think if Moore had been knocked out of the game on Sunday, that Henne would have went back in. The dude is a warrior and even his strongest detractors can't honestly question his toughness.

A player in his contract year, with an uncertain future with his current team..........and you think his future contract does not even enter his thinking.

Clearly, you have it all figured out. Henne is a shining knight in golden armor, who is honor bound to play football for the Miami Dolphins, regardless if his left arm is ripped off or not. He is so unselfish, he doesn't care about his health or his future at all. He only cares about dying on the football field just to play football, because that's the kind of warrior Chad Henne is. Man, the guy is a role model. A real life super hero.

Chad Henne played last year on one leg when everyone said he was done for the season. Was he playing for a contract then too? The guy is tough and has heart and wants to compete and win, it has nothing to do with a contract. Give it a rest.

You want to argue whether or not Henne is a capable QB? Go ahead, but this thread has NOTHING to do with that.

Oh yeah, just like everyone said Beck would do.

Did you just call Cam Newton definitively better? I wouldn't even call him good yet. Bradford's 70.8 rating is overwhelming, I know. Cassel is not playing well by any sense of the word.

  33. CaribPhin

    CaribPhin Guest

If anyone is a Total QBR fan, he's ranked 9th. PFF has or had him at 5th.

You turn 2 or 3 of those games into wins and all of a sudden he's Jesus.

Cam Newton is better than Chad Henne, hands down. Much more upside and he can move the ball down the field. Bradford, tough call. For the time being seems to have regressed almost as much as Henne did in year 2. Agree with you on Cassel. I'd rather have Henne than him.

  35. CaribPhin

    CaribPhin Guest

He's thrown for a bunch of yards. That's about it. I've watched two of his games so far. Most of his yards are from MONSTER games by Steve Smith. He hasn't made the tough throws just yet.

Isn't that the exact problem we're having now? Henne can move the ball, but just like Carolina, the Red Zone offense is struggling.

PFF currently has him 12th. He was 5th a week ago but getting knocked out of the game didn't allow him to build his score.

According to PFF, our 3 best offensive players are Henne, Pouncey and Hartline...

I'm not worried about Bradford long term. Get him some NFL quality receivers and he'll be in the Pro Bowl soon thereafter.

Not even close. If you have actually watched the games, you would know that. No OTA's, limited camp and the pressure of #1 pick.......................................I say he's doing better than expected.

I already watched two of them. Newton isn't there yet. I really don't enjoy the condescension either.
