Oh yeh! I expect all of you Dolphin fans of impeccable taste and discernment to be rooting for Denver!
Another embarrassing home loss to a lousy team led by a lousy QB will be just what the doctor ordered.
I think Tebow gives you a better chance to win. While I like him, I can't go as far as rooting against my team, but I do expect that you'll have quite a few of the suck for Luckers rooting with you.
Given the way this season has gone so far, it's fitting that Tebow gets named the starter on Gator Day, and it wouldn't shock me if he led them to victory with some late game heroics.
Jump pass for the win in the 4th Quarter or something ridiculous. I want Tebow to be successful as long as the Dolphins get the W
I hate the Broncos more than any other non-AFC East team. Why? 1. They cheated to win the Super Bowl. Twice. Much bigger story than Spygate, but it got no real play in the press, cause it wasn't sexy. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A28969-2004Sep17.html 2. John Elway lost 3 Super Bowls. Loser. Until they cheated and lucked out with Terrell Davis. 3. Their fans are *****. 4. Tim Tebow is what is wrong with America.
While I think we have a much better chance at winning with Tebow than Orton, I'm still going to be expecting a loss more than a win. That is what this whole McDaniels/Orton/etc era has done to me, I never think we can win. Plus, I think the Broncos are 0-7 against the Dolphins when it's in Miami. Hopefully we get to watch a good game
I take it that you are serious? I'm not a big fan of the Broncos either, but wow. Just for giggles, explain the Tebow reference.
Without devolving into a Pofo arguement, Tebow is a self-righteous proselytiser. He thinks he knows better than those who do not share his beliefs and must press them on everybody else. Live and let live!
We both suck, so it'll be a tossup. I say, though, we have a much better chance of winning with Tebow. Orton's really losing it this year...
Really, Tim Tebow is what's wrong with America? Among bailouts, golden parachutes, and corporate crime you pick one of the few athletes who tries to be a role model. The guy who hasn't been arrested for drugs, or beating his woman or shooting himself. Does he get preachy sure? But forcing his beliefs on you, I'd have to disagree. If you don't like the message change the channel. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
Orton has played a lousy season so far, but I think I'd be more scared of the Broncos if they played a lousy QB instead of no QB at all. Here's to a fine game of kindergarten football.
No, unemployment and corporate welfare and overcrowded prisons due to a failing drug war and a ****ed up health system and a political system that is basically legalized bribery and an apathetic and mostly uninformed electorate are NOT the biggest problems with America. A 24-year-old pro football player who believes in Jesus and has the audacity to tell others of this belief IS. Personally, I think dumbasses on message boards are the biggest problem with America.
I think Tebow gives us a better chance to win. I have to laugh at the Denver fans that have been pushing for a guy who can't win the job in practice to get the starting job. He energized the team.....to lose against the Chargers. I think we win this game, when defenses actually gameplan against Tebow he isn't going to be successful. He still can't pass the ball unless he rolls out and even then he needs the receivers to make good plays on the ball. If we can hold him in check running the ball and defend the screen we should win this one.
wow how can 1 player be what's wrong in America? Just cus you don't think he's good? This is why we. Are the laughing stock of the worldWe pay attention to athletes more than we do our president
Let me re-phrase: Tebow is emblematic of what's wrong with America: dogmatic people who want to push their extreme beliefs on others. That's my opinion.
I'm expecting at least one major defensive breakdown in a 3rd and long situation where Tebow runs for 30+ yards and/or a TD.
Against our defense Tebow will most likely have the best performance of his career, at least everyone else does. I see an ugly game for the Dolphins and Tebow will have field day running around doing whatever he wants to our horrible defense. I hope we make him look like a rookie but doubt that will be the case
Woah, woah.... defend a screen? This team? Surely you jest? Sorry, I had to. We haven been beaten by TEs and screens so damn much in recent history that it is just a knee jerk reaction now.
Denver has never beaten Miami at Miami. Miami cant buy a win at home. Unstoppable force meet immovable object.
There was a good article on ESPN (I think it was espn) as to why Tebow draws so much hatred. At one point, he made statements that could be interpreted as god wanting him to start and succeed. while there is worse behavior from NFL athletes (Vick, Stallworth, etc...), I certainly understand and agree to an extent with your point.
Are you not doing the same? Back on topic, Tebow has always been a leader, and has always been able to coax a better performance out of the other 10 men on offense. How far that gets him and the Broncos? Who knows; I don't think the team will wait long enough to find out...he's not enough of a "qb" for them to take that chance with that coaching staff and fo (unless he reels off six straight W's or something like that).
Could you provide some examples of Tebow pushing his beliefs on other people, as well as why you think Christianity is an "extreme belief?" I'll hang up and listen.
As someone who watched a great deal of Tebow, I have to say that characterizing him as "a self-righteous proselytiser", is a crock. I am someone who is particularly turned off by anybody preaching and pushing their religious beliefs on others, but Tebow doesn't do that. The worst he does is say "God Bless" at the end of interviews. During those interviews he doesn't preach or praise or thank God. He talks about working hard and being the best he can be. Frankly, if that's what's turning people off then the problem is with them, not Tebow. Anybody who is the public eye as much as Tebow will generally have a dozen statements that could be interpreted negatively by those wishing to do so. Surprisingly, Tebow has very few such incidents. IMO that indicates that the ones who have a problem with him are the over sensitive types.
I like Tim Tebow. And, I'm not ashamed or afraid to make that admission. Matter of fact, the mere fact that he will be starting and playing for Denver when we play them will make the game more fun to watch far as I'm concerned. And, while I won't go as far as to say that I am pulling for him to beat us, I am pulling for him to be successful in the NFL. Kid seems to have a good heart and has his head screwed on straight.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Douglass Tebow is a great person. As a QB, he may be another Bobby Douglas.
Dee, Tim Tebow believes that a woman should not have the right to choose whether she should keep her baby, even if she was raped by her father. This is an extreme view. He made a Super Bowl commercial about it, thus pushing his beliefs on other people. Hope I answered your question sufficiently.
I find it downright surreal that we're in the middle of Jets Week, a Monday Nighter against the Jets no less...and we're sitting here talking about the Week 7 game a lot more than the Week 6 game. I mean, I have thoughts about the Week 6 game against the Jets, but not exactly something I'd like to start a thread about, and it's hard for me to even find a thread where it's appropriate to talk about the Jets game. The whole of dolfandom has reached such a pinnacle of malaise that we're the equivalent of one of those chinese opium houses you see in the old movies.
I think part of it is the Tebow effect. There was an article in the Sun-sentinel today talking about some girl who has never been to an NFL game, but just got tickets to the game b/c she heard Tebow was starting. I don't know how many people are like that girl. I'll be curious to hear if there's a bump in ticket sales, but it wouldn't surprise me if there is. The guy just draws attention.
I just picked up Tebow in my fantasy league so I can reap the rewards of the gazillion point game he's going to have.
Wow, you've really showered this thread with hostility. Are you sure your dislike of the Broncos isn't due to their drafting Tebow? How is Tebow a self-righteous proselytizer? Other than face black in college, how did he express his faith in public? Does face black make someone a pushy proselytizing Bible-thumper? You have a flair for exaggeration.
