I disagree that the Colts players are deliberately playing poorly in an effort to win Andrew Luck. Think about it, if you were a linebacker for the Colts, would you deliberately miss a tackle so your team *might* land a superstar college kid. HELL NO! If you were an offensive lineman, would you not play hard in week 6 for Luck. HELL NO!

You guys are paranoid. Maybe the Colts front office might not make a move, cause they want Luck, but to claim that the PLAYERS are deliberately not playing up to their abilities is ridiculous.

I fully agree that the players would not try to lose a game to get a higher pick. 90% of these players have no idea if they will even be a Colt next year. The FO's are a different story. For example:

The Broncos decide it's time to see what Tebow has. We all know he is not an NFL QB. H-Back, Wildcat trigger man, maybe, but not a franchise QB. So Elway and co. decide it's time to roll with Tebow in the hope that they will lose enough games to land Luck or another Top 3 QB. They don't stop there though. Now they put their best WR and best playmaker on the trading block. Cmon man. Could you make it any more obvious that you are trying to lose. If Lloyd ends up getting traded for a box of oranges and the Broncos end up with the 1st pick, I will be pretty frustrated. It's one thing for fans to want this to happen (and I'm one of the fans routing for the Phins to land that 1st pick) but to have the FO blow it for that purpose is too much.

We're saying the same thing, PhinsPhan23. The Front Offices might put their teams in the best position to lose, but there is zero chance the players are going to embarrass themselves on the field by intentionally screwing up.

Uh oh...now the raiders have reason to join the SFL campaign. But I still think we may be just a step out of first place as long as the Dolts don't have Peyton...our only real hope is that Peyton returns quicker than expected...

Sooner or later, according to the law of averages. but hey, look at it this way. When we do get good again, it should be for quite awhile, eh? Look at NE and how long they sucked! ;)

To think the Colts are a lock for Luck is ignoring the simple fact that Peyton Manning has at least 5 years left in him and that if Luck is half as good as he is projected to be there is no way he or his agent allow himself to be put into a situation where he's simply being "groomed" for 5 years. I could see him pulling a Eli Manning if anything like this happened.

I really wonder where that notion is coming from. Manning is 35 (he's going to be 36 by the time the 2012 season starts) and he's still sidelined by what should have been a routine surgery and turned into a chronic issue. I wouldn't rule out that he'll pull a Brett Favre but if I'm Indianapolis, I don't bet the best chance of getting his successor on it.

idk either. to me, the chance of him playing 5 more years or never playing a full season again are about equal

i have zero doubt they would take Luck. more than any other team, they know the importance of a QB

Whether Peyton Manning has 5 years left or not is certainly up for debate. But I'm betting Peyton probably assumes he does. And Andrew Luck probably does too. So whether or not he does or doesn't matters not. It will still be a very messy situation that neither QB will like should the Colts try and draft Luck.

The Colts would draft Luck, have him learn from Peyton for a year, then trade Peyton IMO. Would be the greatest transition from one franchise QB to another in NFL history.

A great plan, for sure. But do you think that plan would do anything to appease the anger Peyton Manning would have with the team over drafting Luck? And do you think Luck would have any kind of guarantees of such a thing happening?

And if Peyton comes back and has a typical phenomenal Peyton Manning type season after returning from the injury, do the Colts just let him go that easy and take their chances with a rookie QB?

I'm not saying there's no way the Colts draft Andrew Luck. I'm just saying it wouldn't be clean at all. There would be a lot of hurt feelings over the whole mess.

I agree it would take some serious ego management for the Colts to pull it off, but I just can't see how any GM wouldn't do it considering the circumstances. You have to figure Peyton has 4-5 years left of playing at a high level, but with this neck injury, he's one awkward hit away from early retirement. Luck is by no guarantees the next Peyton Manning, but given his body of work and skill set, he's worth the risk.

If Peyton were to come back and have a great season, it would allow the Colts to trade him for probably at least a first rounder to a contender with QB issues. They could then use those picks to throw even more talent around Luck.

I think after seeing colts tanking these games ( a diff goat every week) maybe he should change the draft order to what they do in nba. Lottery of balls. It doesn't allow a team to lose on purpose to get first pick. Makes a lot of sense. Just like the spurs did when robinson was hurt that year. They pick first and get duncan. What a farce.

Well if the Colts traded Peyton I'd take him in Miami for 2 or 3 years...maybe we can make it to an AFC Championship Game, never seen one before....

Don't know if this has been posted, but here are the current odds of the #1 pick.

We're better than the Rams but the Colts are tops.

I love hearing Gruden saying on MNF that it's time for the Dolphins to draft a QB in the first round for the first time since 1983.

Please, no more suck for luck

If luck is in the future he will be there. At this point how a bout a little self-respect. How about a little pride. How a bout a little heart and character.

All we gotta do is out suck Indy. No chance St. Louis takes Luck. Indy plays Carolina and the Jags twice. Our only winnable game is Denver next Sunday.

We cannot screw this up. Then again, we are the Miami Dolphins.

This team is toast. They have no character, no heart, no playmaking ability, even amongst the supposed "elite" players on this team.

If the team has no character or heart, why should we?

I have been an ardent opponent of SFL, but after tonight, I don't give a flying sh*t anymore.. I was pumped up to start the game and was laughing the entire second half. This is the lowest I have felt as a Dolphin fan. .I may as well wear a brown paper bag over my head at the next home game.

    Pride? Heart? Character?

Talk to the men who are embarrassing this ****ing franchise. Tony Sparano is walking the same sideline as Don Shula? Chad Henne, Pennington, Matt Moore are trying to own the huddle Dan Marino ran for years? We have receivers taking the field dropping balls disrespecting the name of Paul Warfield?

Pride? Heart? Character? To us the fans? Start with the men who make millions to not give a ****. Give me people who will. This is why Sunlife Stadium has been half empty the last 10 years. Give us a QUARTERBACK.

Pretty much sums it up. The fact is . . . this team quit on its coach in Week 17 last year and I think it's clear its already quit on its coach in Week 6 of this season. Tony Sparano has never been able to get these guys to play up to their potential. Our first season, we had Chad Pennington and a cupcake schedule. Since then, it's been all downhill. People can sugarcoat it however they like, but Tony Sparano is just not a good coach. Our guys don't play with fire. We waste timeouts. We have in-game personnel issues. I hate Rex Ryan, but Rex Ryan is a good coach. I like Tony Sparano, but Tony Sparano is not a good coach. That's just the way it is. Ross should have come back from California with Harbaugh or he should have had some contingency plans in place so that he could still fire Sparano and bring in someone else. The decision to bring him back killed our season. That's my god's honest opinion.

Once there lived a grasshopper in a meadow. Everything was green and the scene was very lovely. The grasshopper was very fond of dancing and singing. He danced and sang at all times. He had nothing to do. He did not think that there was anything else worth doing at all.

He never cared to do any work while it was time to work. He kept singing and dancing throughout the spring and the summer.

When winter came, it began to snow. It was snow everywhere. There was snow on hills and snow on plains. No flower or leaf was visible. The once-happy grasshopper was now very unhappy. He had nothing to eat. He felt very miserable. He looked for his friends to help him in his time of trouble.

The grasshopper went to his friend, the ant. The grasshopper said to the ant, “Please give me something to eat. I am dying of hunger at the moment. You alone can help me in my hour of need.”?

The ant said to him, “We ants work hard during summer. We store food for winter. But what were you doing during summer?”

The grasshopper replied, “I sang through summer, the time was so happy. Everything was beautiful and lovely.”

The ant was angry and said to him, “Then you should dance winter away as well.”

    --------------

    I am the ant.

So, I think its safe to assume that Andrew Luck watched tonight's game.

If he only watched the first half, I bet he thought to himself, "This team's not so bad. Their QB sucks". Hopefully, he studied his organic chemistry in the second half!
