I also have trouble blaming the defense, we should of been up 14-0 or even 17-o at the beginning of the game, that would of allowed the D to be a bit more comfortable. instead of 14-0 we were down 7-0

I also think that with 1:14 to go and not even try to get some points is prety pathetic by our coaching staff, and thats on you Tony, what a doofus

When I started calling for the firing of Ireland before the regular season even started, there were many defenders of Ireland on here who stated that he was a very good GM and that I didn't know what I was talking about. I have certainly noticed that with each loss, these Ireland defenders have grown very quite, while more and more Dolphin fans have come to realize how terrible a job Ireland has done since he took over as the Dolphins GM.

It's about time of possession. You can only play defense for so long in a game and not get overly winded. Also it's about field position.

The guy is in way over his head. All you gotta do is look at the rosters he's been assembling. All this guy targets are former Cowboys, a team that's won one playoff game in 10+ years and he wants to build the team with all these Dallas rejects.

    It's embarrassing.

I have an argument for your #1...the players aren't making plays. It's pretty simple.

The vaunted DL has been haunted...they haven't made a play since the preseason. Wake needs to WAKE up and realize the season has started. Who exactly are Burnett and Dansby ?? The only place I've seen them is 7 yds downfield after a catch has been made or 4 yrds downfield during a run. The CBs are the best tandem in the league, except we don't know which league, I think they meant non-BCS conferences. And our safeties are very good at trailing a WR or TE after he's made the catch. This is all Nolan's fault, I'm sure.

I'm not a Nolan guy, never was, but somewhere along the line, the players have to make plays. Ours are not doing that basic, fundamental element of playing football....

The fact is that as fans, we'll never be able to separate the difference between Ireland and Sparano because the franchise is doing so poorly. This year, this particular year because of the lockout he rates a reprieve. He had limited time and availability, although his draft looks pretty good we really won't be able to tell for a year or so. How do you separate the Colombo acquisition as Ireland or Sparano ?? How do you separate the Bush acquisition as to whether he's simply being used improperly or he doesn't have it ?? We don't know the answers to these and other questions. It's easy to sit back as fans and say clear the house, these guys all stink, but it's much more complicated than that.

The bottom line is that Ireland likely will get the boot but who's fault is that ?? In my mind, it's because the players haven't played up to their potential, not because they haven't been coached up or we don't have the right players. In 2007, things were a lot different, we didn't have very good talent. We've got some now, some is still developing but it's coming...but will we actually use that talent with a new regime ?? Likely not...

While I agree that all our problems do not lie at the feet of the Defense, Nolan who in all regards is a very talent Defensive Coordinator is clearly not performing as he should / could.

Nolan hasn't been dialing up the proper plays to fit any of the talent he has. We are not getting any pressure so where are the safety blitz? where is the creative schemes or wrinkles? Were lining up in plain base vanilla defense's. Our corners are giving 10-15 yards cushion on receivers and allowing them to consistently to run the middle of the field on us. Nolan has the talent to mix things up, but so far it's just not happening.
