The NFL was a lot different then. The rules have changed (ironically, to help Manning), and the NFL has made it clear they want to feature the quarterback. The NFL wants Bradford to win, not lose. Not to mention that there hasn't been any real progression from last year to this year.
illegal contact at worst. the fact the the ref didn't call it was beneficial to the suck for luck campaign. the jets fan will get no satisfaction here. most of us don't give a crap that we lost
When Luck is torching your deity Revis for the next several years, I will be smiling at this year and them losing.... We need to get some missed field goals out of Carpenter, he cant be making all these field goals if Miami thinks they have a shot at Luck...
The funniest thing is you guys talking like Luck is already on your team. Its not even November and you have 11 games to play. I can only imagine the abuse Jets fans would get if the situation was reversed : lol: -Ed- sent from my EVO 3D
What do you mean "would" get ??? You guys get abused now by your own coach by having you believe that your team is Super Bowl material.
As opposed to your embarrassment of a coach who celebrates every field goal like it's a super bowl winning kick? Or your owner who chased Harbaugh across the country, only to end up signing Sparano to an extension? Or playing to a stadium that's so empty you can hear a mouse fart in the upper deck from the sideline? It takes a big set to bag on Ryan when your whole organization is a complete laughingstock right now. I don't come here to make fun of the Dolphins, but that is just too over the top to not respond to. Now tell me how with 11 games left to be played you will be drafting Luck and dominating the NFL for the next 15 years. Thanks for making Jets fans appear brilliant. -Ed- sent from my EVO 3D
You're kidding, right? How bad are the Dolphins? The Jets played a terrible game and still thumped them 24-6. NY might not be a championship caliber team, but they contend. Miami hasn't won a playoff game in over a decade. Yeah...I'm the frustrated one! Let me know when I'm talking draft in OCTOBER! -Ed- sent from my EVO 3D
Well you should be talking draft in October. In case you haven`t noticed you guys need a quality QB also.
The Jets could use a bunch of things, but I generally save that talk until the season is over.....oh wait. Now I see why you're talking draft. Enjoy. Hey - who are you guys picking in the second round after you pick Luck? Picking first in the 2nd round is like having a second 1st round pick. Who are you targeting? Who would Gruden want? Or is is Cowher? I forgot who you guys have fantasy signed as your new head coach.
A player like Luck comes around once a generation. This is a unique situation. You wouldn't see fans talking about tanking any other year. The Dolphins have perhaps the most apathetic fan base in football, and with good reason. So don't sit there and say Jets fans wouldn't be behaving the same way if the roles were reversed. The sad reality is hoping we get Andrew Luck is pretty much all we have at this point.
Our season ended when we lost to the Browns in week 3. Do you expect Dolphins fans to feel better about going 4-12 instead of 1-15? It doesn't matter.
you aren't saying anything we haven't come to terms with. the vast majority of us are over it. whether we are the best team in the league or the worst team, we hate your team just the same. don't forget you are in our house. expect a jab about your team
It's likely that Luck is a football fan. What real football fan wouldn't want to personally bring back the Miami Dolphins to greatness?
I'm not going to pretend to know what will happen with Luck, and who's there. It could be that ANYONE would take him...but if any team had reason to pass on him...it would be STL IMO. You can't hang this season on Bradford. That team is devoid of talent, their secondary has been decimated by injuries, their RB is on and again off again hurt, they have no WR's to speak of. I agree that it's likely that given the opportunity they'd take Luck and turn either him or Bradford into kings bounty on the trade block, but if that happens it's because it's an opportunity they got, not because of their current QB play. Bradford is an up and coming stud IMO.
Very good point. Very good. The Dolphins are a PROUD franchise with a rich football history. We are a starved fanbase that would worship Andrew Luck if he proved to be a star QB for us. Then you count in the beautiful weather, beautiful women.....athletes -love- coming to play in Miami. Other day, I was watching a Randy Moss clip (reminiscing about his career since he retired) and he was saying that the Super Bowl in Arizona was boring and he just wants to go home, and he wished it was in Miami cause it was more fun there. There is no chance he doesn't want to play for us.
Well I think there's always a chance. Don't like the city/weather argument, people all have different tastes (example: I personally would hate to live in a climate that's warm/hot year round, while others love it. I like changing seasons. Cool fall weather and foliage & pumpkins and leaves all over, snow for Christmas and skiing months, etc.). BUT, putting myself in his shoes, I would not want to ride Peyton's coat-tails. I'd rather go to a franchise and build something and play against Peyton in the playoffs. I wouldn't whine my way out of playing for a team that drafts me to be traded. Unless that team was the Jets/Patriots/Bills... If the Dolphins or Jaguars or Broncos picked me, I'd play there. Don't think people should worry about this "Eli" thing yet though, because we aren't finding anything out until the draft approaches anyway...if we even have the #1 pick.
well if you're on the suck for luck campaign, then you need to care about what your record is because St Louis is currently in last place.
True but against the field I would say Miami is the favored to get it. St Louis still gets two games a piece against Arizona, and Seattle. I think they can scrape together at least two wins. Indy has shown a tad more fight than us as well. Our whole team looks like it has just turned in. I would say our odds are around 35% to get him against the field with St Louis being the next most likely to take top spot with Bradford hobbled and also experiencing a sophomore slump.
